To anyone who played ANF day 1, was Gabe in the HUB area at the junkyard? I recently played ep. 1 again and noticed he was just sitting there and able to talk to. I either never noticed him or TT added him later.

  • I laughed at this harder than I should have.

    Yes he was.

the last big walking dead game before season 3 was nearly 3 years ago when telltale took at least 2-4 months to make episodes so making the assumption that this will take longer cause its twd is just a tad wrong, michonne got monthly releases

    Chibikid posted: »

Well i never understood why people assumed this would be monthly to begin with. The walkng dead typically takes a few months for releases.

  • I caught her bawling her eyes out today as she tested a scene.

i wonder if it's cause there actually is a scene worth crying over or if shes crying about the fact that twd has gone so far downhill ;)

  • I don't get how all you people can sit there are hurl insults at the TTG crew as if you know anything about how these games are made. These folks put in countless hours making these episodes, with some even contributing the best years of their lives so that you can sit there and pick apart and second-guess every creative decision as if you have any clue what goes into making a game like this. I personally have enjoyed every episode of every season of Telltale's TWD thus far and look forward to many more to come. Thank you TTG TWD team for all your hard work and I can't wait for episode 3 to come out. Keep up the good work!

  • Because I'm well within my rights to criticize a product I paid for as the series takes a questionable direction while offering less for the same amount of money I also paid to play the previous entries. You go right on enjoying the series though.

  • There is a huge difference between constructively critiquing a narrative driven game on it's many faults and shortcomings and leeringly cursing the production and company habitually for the roughly three months episode 3 has been in development for as a way to pass the time and excitingly posting about how the scores of the game have dropped several percentages within the past few days suspiciously at the same time a large hive-mind group exists elsewhere possibly contributing to dishonest tampering of a site's consensus base.

This is a time where people truly need to decide for themselves whether or not it's even worth it to log onto this site anymore. I do actually believe, through my excessively negative biased toward the season thus far, that positivity is the best claim for these forums.

  • I stand behind my comment. TTG becoming successful doesn't have any bearing upon what they "owe" you. The only thing they owed you was $5 or $25 worth of entertainment value depending on whether you bought an episode or a season. I go to the movie theater and drop more than 25 bucks for 1.5 to 3 hrs of entertainment value and sometimes I love the movie, and sometimes I end up hating it. I don't ask for my money back, and I sure as hell don't go and drop more money on the sequel when it comes out. You win some, you lose some. Regardless of whether you liked it or not, Telltale has in fact delivered you your $5 or $25 in entertainment value. You played it through to the end and there were no bugs that prevented you from doing so. Now if there was a bug that prevented me from being able to play an episode or season through to the end, I would have a valid complaint in terms of getting "value" out of the product. You shouldn't EVER buy a game based on what the game publisher promises and I think we all can look back at No Man's Sky as one of many examples of why that point is true. It's the buyer's responsibility to inform themselves as to the quality of a product before making the decision to purchase it, and this applies to almost anything out there that can be bought. Before I drop money to watch/rent/buy a movie, I look up reviews and watch previews to determine whether or not it is a good purchasing decision. I don't just take the director's word for it because honestly, I can't remember a single time a movie producer came out and said "Hey, this movie sucks! Come drop your hard earned money for this shitty movie please!". Of course they're going to say it's awesome.

Now that's not to say that you can't come here and give your opinion, that's a big part of why these forums exist, to give feedback whether it's positive or negative. But there's a big difference between giving feedback and hurling hostile personal insults directed at select members of the TT team just because you didn't agree with a plot/design choice or felt that the value-to-entertainment ratio wasn't to your liking. You paid for the game, you received the game, and you played the game. The entitlement ends there unless the game is broken, and that's it. You're welcome to like or dislike whatever you want, but the fact remains that they fulfilled any obligation they had to you by giving you a playable game regardless of what you thought of it.

  • Hey if they manage to redeem themselves for the rest of the season, great! I'm hoping for that, I want to experience a great story with interesting characters.
But so far this season has taken a dump on Clementine and the other season 2 characters, it was rushed, short and disappointing.

  • Yes!!! Totally agree. Surprised anyone here is still excited for the rest or this shitty season. Guaranteed that when it is released, the game will be another hour long or shorter. Maybe then people who like Season 3 will realise they have waited 3 months for a pile of crap

Not enough considering they are shorter than season 1 and 2 episodes and they feel as though less effort has been put in. Hopefully they will start stepping it up in episode 3 though.

  • I disagree. That's only when you look at the TWD. Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones are awesome and surpassed Season 1 in some aspects.

But hey, everyone got their own opinions.

Did you read what I wrote?

  • Yup we do have our own opinions. For me though I wasn't just focusing on TWD. I've played Tales and GOT and did not enjoy them. The stories were great as TTG's usually are but the episodes were as usual too short, the gameplay wasn't as enjoyable as TWD S1, I didn't feel enough character development like S1. Many things really. I did enjoy the humour in Tales though

  • That's what I wanted! This month release, nice.

  • I feel that Tales of the Borderlands has a reasonable length. The episodes are beyond the 1h30m and the first and last episodes last around two hours. As for the gameplay, while there isn't much exploration, there is a lot more interactive hubs and using the echo eye from Rhys allows you to learn more about the setting. And how our choices allows us to see different scenes play out.

Although I love The Walking Dead Season 1, when you replay them again years later, the hubs really grinds the story pacing to a halt. In some cases it can be boring such as looking for batteries, looking for items in the train and etc. Not saying that TT should drop the hubs, but I wanted hubs to be places where you can talk to people and ask questions as well as explore. But then again hubs also serves to allow yourself to immerse into the world.

  • I'm not sure about the majority of you all, but I'm hella excited for Episode 3. I believe that Telltale has acknowledged the problems of the first 2 episodes; that's why it's been in like 77 or 78 days of development.

One of my favorite scenes from the first two episodes was Clem's opening scene when she takes Javi captive. It was so bad ass and I hope we see more of that side of her and what brought her to be such a hardened survior in that 2 year time skip.

  • Really? I certainly completed the episodes of Tales a lot faster than that and I'm pretty sure I wasn't rushing through.

I did like the occasional optional dialogue convos you could have with the characters and choose what to ask them but all in all it was limited compared to TWD S1. Also i never found finding batteries or things on the train boring. It made it feel like playing a game rather than watching through episodes where 90% of it was choosing dialogue. Of course this is why we all have opinions. I just haven't enjoyed Telltale's games that much since Season 1. I felt they put so much effort into that game and i miss the old team that made that game

  • Different perception of time, maybe? :)

I think that you are simply not agreeing with their changes or that you are approaching every game with high expectation due to Season 1. And that's fine. I do agree that Telltale should never forget that what they are making are games and not television. I already got Netflix for that heh.

Oh my god I had this terrible, terrible nightmare last night! Clementine was dating Ava! And Ava wasn't bald, but I knew it was her even though she had this stupid curly hairdo. God dammit Ava!

Basically it was like how Javier has the option to flirt in Season 3 with Kate or Eleanor, but Clementine had those options instead, and one of the dialogue options came up to compliment Ava's hands and my reaction was 'LIKE HELL YOU ARE!' and I was getting really uncomfortable because the options kept coming up to be flirty with Ava, and fucking Gabe when he came to hang out, basically pressuring you into relationships everywhere whether you were for it or not! You couldn't escape! You said no to shit and it still came out flirty! IT WAS A LIVING NIGHTMARE!!!

Oh and aside from that Javi and his family had this random flashback where they were in the snow at this hut. They were dressed up eskimos [more like Avatar style] and their Mama was still alive, and it was apparently showing what happened to cause David to leave for some reason. But I was just scrolling through it somehow like a youtube video because I thought that shit was boring, and it said 2 hours on the timer and I thought 'whoa that's it? that's all that happens in that time, just the eskimo bunch? we're fucked.'

But the dating shit Jesus that woke me up in a cold sweat! No dating Clem, never date! It should be illegal for you to be in relationships! And why Ava, why fucking Ava!? Why couldn't be Molly or the Marshmallow Man or fucking Pikachu at least, but noooo balded headed alien and beanie boy!

I need to bleach my brain...

  • You must've dreamt of the sacred series known as 'Clematar: The Last Dead Walker' xD
