Right now its difficult to say whether the game is good or not if you haven't played it. I've seen people say its good and others say its bad which tells me it could be a polarized episode. In regards to Clementine from what i understand she doesn't appear for 40 minutes and she's playable for around 3 minutes.
How about you don't judge until you play it yourself?
The man above you stated that Episode 3's early dialogue is brought back up later i… moren the episode and many choices arise. I also heard that Clementine will play a larger/smaller part depending on your choice from Episode 2.
So is it really released early on Xbox?like in store or it just got available for download out of nowhere on the game?or did you guys do some bypassing for it?
Yeah, that is what I had predicted [and hoped] would happen if they were making that the final big choice of Ties that Bind Part 2, so that factored into my decision.
I heard that if you choose to go with the plan in Episode 2, Clementine plays a MUCH bigger part, is that true, if so... That is a really good touch up and motivation for that choice.
I agree telltale has pretty much lost their edge with the "your choices matter" stuff.
But, what if episode three turns out to be good or… more at least better then what has been presented so far? You still think they can't recover?
(Not trying to sound aggressive or anything just want your thoughts that's all.)
I actually enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty good. I mean, it's not S1 quality but it sure as hell is better than Amid the Ruins or No Goi… moreng Back. They definitely listened to feedback, I dunno if people are just being obtuse or memeing but they addressed a lot of the problems with character motivations/development/dialogue/ choices and more. It really felt like the writers were cleaning up the mess from the previous two episodes and I'd say they did a pretty good job at it. The intro was fantastic. Dialogue that you choose is brought up in later conversations which is a nice touch so I hope they keep doing that. Clem no longer swears like a trooper unless you want her to, which is another big plus in my book because I hate her swearing. Clem doesn't get much screentime unfortunately which is still pretty lame. The episode is not 2 hours. It's about 80/90 minutes. If I had to give it a rating i'd say a 8/10. I hope they keep the same writers/animators/director for ep4 and 5.
I heard that if you choose to go with the plan in Episode 2, Clementine plays a MUCH bigger part, is that true, if so... That is a really good touch up and motivation for that choice.
No it didn't. S2 was a poorly paced mess that was on full speed and didn't stop. Where were the quiet moments where you could talk to characters and get to know them? It isn't until episode 5 you finally get a moment to speak to everyone at your own pace. You kept moving nonstop.
complex characters evolving throughout the story
Really? We still know nothing about Mike or his background, Bonnie's past history with drugs is completely brushed over, Carver apparently was a 'nice man' according to Bonnie but all we see is a brutal dictator, we learn nothing about Luke except for what Nick tells you, Sarah is killed off before her story even begins, Kenny is still arguably the same albeit more angry and rash than before and Jane has a complete 180 for no reason.
S3 had a bad start but S2 wasn't much better. Still hope we get more hubs though, that was still a problem in S2 and I really miss the credits songs and was disappointed there wasn't one.
S2 had great pacing, action properly balanced with exploring hubs, complex characters evolving throughout the story, etc. It had credit songs which I miss deeply. S3 is nothing like S2, except both take place in the same universe.
Some things come very close to perfection and this series is a great example of that. On the whole, I believe that every bit of The Walking Dead content released so far by Telltale is excellent, it's one of those series that you never forget, with characters that you remember forever, like Clementine.
I approve of criticism, because if done properly it can help the developers give us great content. That said, there is a fine line between constructive criticism and whining, which some don't seem to be able to spot. There are downsides of course, I am not blind so to say, there are things that I think could have been better not only regarding Season 3, but also regarding Seasons 1 and 2, but I do not see any major negative aspect on the whole, only small details and such, nothing too major.
Despite that, when looking at the bigger picture, when analysing each season in its entirety and not nitpicking small details, I believe that they're excellent games and stories and I am sure Season 3 will be great as well and I hope they don't stop at Season 3, I hope they make this series last for a long while, because it has great potential.
As I said previously, I am probably biased, but that's my view on things. I am not trying to convice anyone of anything, because we're all different.
Thanks, this feels worse than the S2 days when things went crazy during Ep3-5. I like S3 so far but I admit Telltale have made some weird ch… moreanges, and they've screwed up with removing much of what made the early seasons great, however this negativity is making these forums feel pretty crappy tbh.
S2 had great pacing

Ya thats who I meant thought her name was ariandel oops, she's definitely the hardest Dark Souls boss, That moment you realize she has a 3rd phase is probably the biggest "oh shit" the series has given me.
I don't have a PS4, so I can't play Bloodbourne .
Dark Souls 3 is easily my favorite, my main reason being is that no boss feels awful to… more me, certainly, some aren't as good, but compared to Dark Souls 1, DS1 (Especially after Ornstein and Smough) really fall off as far as bosses go. Also, I feel like the 3/5 best bosses are apart of the Artorias of the Abyss DLC.
DS3 however, the early game bosses are all relatively easy, usually unique. End game bosses are all hard in their own way and I love the agressive bosses as well. Dancer, Pontiff, Aldrich, Dragonslayer Armour, Twin Princes, Abyss Watchers, Soul of Cinder, Nameless King, and last but not least (My personal hardest boss of all time) Sister Friede.
I love the Souls series so much, but mad did it take a long time to beat Sister Friede.
Hi, I'm back. But... Really? Are you serious, Telltale? We still have to wait more than a week while some Xbox users are playing the episode for the second or the third time already?
My money doesn't taste as good as the money from Xbox users? Oh well.
The thing that gets me more than anything is that for two years the only thing that absolutely everyone would agree on was that the s2 endings shouldn't be tossed aside in 5 minutes!!
And after two years, wtf happens? They're tossed aside in 5 minutes, even less for some of the flashbacks.
My point is that S2 was just as bad as the beginning of S3. I don't think comparing them like they're two completely different games is a fair one since they both had the exact same problems.
Is there any particular reason of why you answered with so many examples? I don't really want to discuss S2 problems in this thread.
I didn't say S2 was flawless, but in terms of continuing the story, it did a great job.
Where were the quiet moments where you could talk to characters and get to know them?
Episode 2 had em. They were halfassed in places and there was a limited amount of interaction and development with certain characters, but they were there. Episode 3's is a joke, though.
we learn nothing about Luke except for what Nick tells you
Bonnie alludes to certain things between him and Carver and he does finally share some things about himself during the campfire scene.

One of the main reasons I don't like ANF is because it's such a cop out. Rather than putting the WORK and EFFORT into making a legitimate choice driven S3 based off of S2 and S2 Endings they opted to make a new story and just appeal to newcomers.

True but you couldn't talk to specific characters like you mentioned which is kinda lame since you could talk to everyone in a hub like environment in Season 1, even if they didn't have much to say.

I absolutely agree with that. If telltale can release it on platforms early they need to ASAP. the fact the rest of us have to wait over a week+ to play it with others having played it 3-4 times already with spoilers filling the forums and the Internet I believe it is unfair to us to have to wait this long.
The thing is we all paid equally for the game, and now some players got to enjoy (more or less) the episode before the rest of us. I was get… moreting tired of the waiting, but I thought it was necessary to get everything done, fix some issues, etc., however now I'm not sure anymore.
TT's taken the risk - they knew how big of a deal it was to make S3 out of all the branched endings and complex background they've created - and they jumped recklessly into the deep water when they clearly forgot how to swim. 2 years of development has ended only with chaos and disappointment, Telltale continuously refusing to listen to the constructive criticism and neglecting the ideas for improvement. Not a flying fuck about all of this.
And now the general crisis just confirmes that they are failing miserably on keeping their company professional and fulfill the basic tasks, as they declared themselves to release the game on the 28th. All we've got to do is t… [view original content]
Uh Didn't you say you liked what you've seen from episode 3? That's a bold statement, considering you're still here...Playing their games, and talking on their forums.

To me I see those comments as people who are disappointed and frustrated with telltale yet they are still hopeful and want to like telltale. people who have legitimately given up on telltale are not on they're forums and keeping interest in they're games at all.

Well they've lost so much faith they're still on the forums discussing the product and still obviously interested. If someone legitimately believed what they stated they would not be here on they're forums.
I did like what i see from episode 3 more than the previous two episodes. It wasn't perfect but it didn't seem bad. I can still play the season and hopefully enjoy it since I bought the season pass, right?
And yes, amid many of the writers leaving, the CEO stepping down, lies about episode 1 being too long, lies about Clem having 42 starting points, giving Clem 5% of the episode playtime despite marketing her constantly, getting rid of TWDG legends like Kenny in lazy 5 minute flashbacks, having both the premiere and episode 3 leak days early, and Job coming on here to talk down and give nonanswers, I have pretty much lost the previously strong faith that I had in them.
I bought the season pass and I frequent these forums regardless, I'm entitled to my opinion. Yeah my statement was a bit bold, but as a really huge fan I just can't feel the same after everything that has been happening.

They need to release the episode, RIGHT NOW!!!

Only people that bought the season pass disk.

Most people who got episode 3 early have actually rated it pretty good. And didn't they get a new team of writers to do it?
A few writers and people that worked on ANF have left in the recent months after it came out.
Perhaps that's a good thing? We need the season 1 writers wherever they are.
Nope didn't work for a lot of Xbox users you have to get lucky.Buying an Xbox for it would be really dumb
Sheeeiiit I don't have the season pass
Obtuse?dude I literally watched shawshank redemption yesterday nice reference if that's what you were doing lmao
I had a feeling this would happen a month ago so I rewinded and did that.Too bad she won't be too happy about it in ep3 I'm guessing
Went to the game huh on Xbox and saw a lot of Clem flashback clips thankfully no choice or ending spoilers
Did they fix it?if not I'll just buy the season pass and hopefully it works.Sucks I hadn't already cause damn I really wanna play it
Fix the leak I mean
I think it's unfair. If it got leaked, just release it by this point on platforms where you can. Stalling it only makes it worse

only works if you have the xbox one season pass disc. I uploaded the full walkthrough yesterday and most of the clips you see online are from that
only season pass disc owners

Yeah, I seriously thought my game glitched out the first playthrough when you couldn't click on Sarah--and I played on Xbox360!
Yeah, I find it funny as well.

That's how it feels. Hard to be enthusiastic about a company that you feel doesn't really care.
