Okay, so I just wanna throw in my two cents on the glorified ad for the comic here:
It's been brought to my attention that the way that-"Paul"-guy was handled was kinda weird. See, personally as someone who still hasn't watched the TV show, I was perfectly fine with how he was handled: he's just there because comic fans would like seeing him, he does some cool action stuff, hints at things going on outside of Clementine and Javier reach, and then leaves to go back to his apparent usual gig and warn them about a potential wide scale danger. It sounds like he was originally supposed to have a slightly bigger stake in the plot developments, as he mentioned investigating something relating to his connections and a possible turf war going on in the Richmond area, but this isn't really focused on much in Above the Law; also, I got the feeling from his introduction alone that he was some uppity asshole, so his lecture about what Javier did to Badger apparently being odd for him doesn't surprise me. I think it was a better cameo than most of the previous ones, as unlike Lilly or Glenn(who I actually liked, mind you), he doesn't have extensive ties to the game characters/concepts or [for the most part] take up screentime at the expense of another character; I wasn't too keen on him sticking around for long anyway, so double points in my book.

  • I only liked this comment cuz of the pic - that made ME wheeze

  • I'm glad he's gone, I'm with you on that. The season is going to be short enough already so we really dont need to waste time on cameo characters. However it was still a needless cameo just so they can say "hey the season is connected with the comic book!". I can't respect that from a writing perspective.

  • I'm glad to see that a determinant character is still getting a bit of love. Hopefully that speaks for the rest of the episode.

For anyone who wants to watch it, I got it. https://twitter.com/AnEvilHag/status/843611067318177793

  • So, I avoided looking at the spoilery clips and pictures, and I just have a question..

For people who have watched a lot/all of the ep, is it good? Better than episode 1 and 2? around the same? or worse?

At this point, they're just throwing in the towel. The hey days of TWD S1 are long past everyone by now and Telltale will never live up to it ever again, they'll keep trying and keep failing and it's sad.

Modern Telltale just can't seem to get sequels right but new projects like Wolf, Batman, and TFTB have a somewhat creative spark that helps drive the story in a direction that's meaningful with characters who actually develop throughout the story in a organic way plus you have developers more enthusiastic about playing around with fresh material.

GOT was the exception because Telltale didn't really know what they got themselves into in adapting a long convoluted series like GOT and churned out something that felt unfocused and underwhelming.

Just wait for the other episodes.

  • It's good but they blatantly lied about the episode being longer.

  • They put more effort into determinant Conrad than they did with S2 determinant character.

    ffs

  • Probably due to the backlash Nick and especially Sarah's handling got. Which I'm grateful for, to be honest, even if they shouldn't have to had corrected themselves in the first place.

  • That scene when Clementine talks about how she thought she lost AJ was so sad :(

  • Episode 4 just uploaded to Steam a few minutes ago. 1 week before the release of episode 3. Faster releases for episodes 4 and 5 maybe? god I hope.

Let's just hope it doesn't leak this time if it's that ready.

EDIT: Btw I mean around the time it's supposed to release, obviously it wouldn't happen now

  • Thanks for the notice.

  • I already got the episode 3 while others haven't, what does it mean? :/

  • If you have an Xbox, it's something that's happened on that system and we're still not entirely sure why

  • Kate in episode 3 can either escape the compound or stay at David's house with Gabe.

  • Let's not put to much past them. I think they could find a way.

    .

  • Wait, so Kate gets away but Gabe's still in the city?! Hmm, interesting food for thought when I get the chance to play it myself.

  • Yeah, @bettertosleep posted a video up above stating that. This should prove interesting....

  • Eh. Makes more sense for Javier to say it, especially with the "fuck" part.

David has the Garcias accepted into the NF, Spinach Soup vs Cake, the NF banishes Javi, Tripp and Jesus. Javi vs Badger, Clem is a badass and treated like temper tantrum throwing child at wal-mart, Javi and David team up to confront seedier elements of the NF.

Its got varriable endings depending on certain choices.

  • When I was watching the part where Javi hits Badger in the head with the bat for the first time I thought for a second that something was off about Badgers reaction. The stoic face with the semi grin seemed either like Javier literally knocked a screw loose or gave him serious brain damage.

  • Think its towards the end, I don't know if you've spoiled the game yet so I won't mention the scene. But there's still no reason they shouldn't know how to properly pronounce a name, its just weird.

  • Might have missed it, but has anyone seen a playthrough where you accept Conrads plan? Curious how they write Clem out before Javier and company are exiled, and she meets them again in the woods. Also, does Conrad make it through the episode?

  • Yeah, I'm wondering if that actually has an effect on anything considering who's involved.

  • Someone posted a few pics and clips a few pages back and someone else said he does. If I had to guess, Clementine is probably kicked out with them or something.
