'The Other Side' Episode Discussion

After the Morgan-centric episode last week, this episode is supposed to be about Rosita and Sasha? I think. Not my favorite pair.

Well, comment after, while, and before you watch.

  • THis guy is a great Gregory. So slimy.

  • Steven Ogg can literally make any scene great. It's a shame Simon is probably going to die in a horrific way.

  • I've come to realize Gregory and The Meriff have a lot in common The Meriff

  • I first saw him on this show called Broad City. He played a creepy locksmith that these two girls hired. Hilarious.

  • Was that lady riding in the mining cart with walker.

  • Simon taking Doctor Carson because his brother died. Makes sense. Dr. Eugene Porter isn't enough for them.

  • Still.. that's a shit load of aspirin.

  • It's actually a nice thing of Simon to do. He isn't a total jerk, although well, that aspirin isn't exactly going to be treating bullet wounds...

Still.. that's a shit load of aspirin.

  • Rosita.. I liked her from the moment I saw her. "When the world's over everyone should get their rocks off." But I seem to remember her saying she learned everything from Abraham.

  • Negan had the luck the Governor had. Good thing he likes getting up close and friendly.

That radio broadcast by Eugene was kind of funny, report to me "Dr. Eugene Porter also aka Negan."

  • I have to say I like Eugene better as Negan.

  • That was Dwight.

  • Huh. Sasha did something not cool. Makes sense for her I guess.

Eugene not leaving was very interesting. Maybe he really is Negan.

I think the show is going to do a loose adaptation of the Holly incident with Sasha instead. I already pictured her, Rosita, and Tara as potential candidates for that. It's a shame it probably won't go down as it did in the comics but hopefully it'll still be good.

  • You sure? I thought it was Daryl.

    That was Dwight.

  • I said that as soon as Richonne happened.

  • too skinny I thought.

  • Had a good amount of suspense and plenty of great character moments. This just surpassed The Well as my favorite episode of Season 7.

Very good episode, I really liked the dynamic between Sasha and Rosita.

Agreed. I can't stand Gregory, but the actor plays him perfectly!

THis guy is a great Gregory. So slimy.

  • To be honest, it's one of my favorite episodes of the season, I really like that Rosita is getting allot of development and it seems she's finally realizing how much she's losing every time she takes a risk, hopefully she'll wait to fight this time around instead of being reckless.

Also, I guess it's time for Dwight's turnover? Seems like Eugene may have actually betrayed the group, it kind of contrasts with Father Gabriel during their episode, a foe of Rick became his friend and now his friend becomes his foe possibly?

I'm sad that Sasha is likely going to die but I must say, I don't find her actions out of character after all the build-up she's had since Season 5, perhaps Sasha's death will give Rick the incentive to begin the war sooner than later. Although I think Oceanside might join up with everyone before or during the war.

  • Not as great like episode 13, but this one wasn't exactly bad. It was really good.

  • Two episodes left... I smell all out war.

  • Holy sheiiitttt that ep was boring. Can see why the discussion thread is so dead lol. 3/10 at best for that one.

  • I thought it was great. I'm glad Rosita toned down her bitchiness because that was getting old. I have no complaints. Next week is going to be great for Tara.

  • Why would Daryl just stood there like an asshole? Of course its Dwight.

You sure? I thought it was Daryl.

  • So you read comics...
Can you tell me where we are at with events of this episode compared to comic book? Please, tell me volume or issue

  • I can tell you volume, sort of. We are in kind of in a tug-of-war between What Comes After (Volume 18) and March To War (Volume 19). We had some late March To War stuff happen early (Spencer's death being the most significant), but we still haven't gotten some of the important things from What Comes After completely done. It's definitely more March To War at this point though, earlier this season was more What Comes After.

  • These comics you listed were written back in 2014...please tell me that some drastic changes are on the horizon. Will they leave Alexandria, cause even Hershel´s farm was more interesting place. But Saviors are interesting I will admit that.
BTW Has Kirkman said something about when he wants to end the series?

  • While there was two really good character building moments, with Daryl and Maggie finally having a heart to heart about Glenn, and then the entire last sequence with Rosita and Sasha, the rest of the episode was fairly boring. We see the Saviors go for another pick up which we have already seen countless times. We get it, the Saviors are a looming threat and can show up whenever, you don't need to show us the exact same thing happen over and over every episode. I guess this episode shows the major problem with the entire show. They can write good characters and good character moments, and not much else.

  • I stayed awake until 3 AM for this. German time zone. This episode wasnt worth it. At this rate I bet EP15 is gonna be a boring Filler too and EP16 will be kinda good.

  • Xander Berkeley is great at that. Watch him in Candyman.

THis guy is a great Gregory. So slimy.

  • I think Eugene is overdoing it just a bit. We get it, man. You're Negan. 10-4.

Negan had the luck the Governor had. Good thing he likes getting up close and friendly. That radio broadcast by Eugene was kind of funny, report to me "Dr. Eugene Porter also aka Negan."

  • I knew Eugene wasn't going to leave. Everyone thinks he's playing some angle, trying to get Negan to trust him so he can blah..blah... From the moment he got that jar of pickles, I knew he was going to turn. He loves having power and respect. I hope I can be proven wrong but we'll seen.

  • I very much enjoyed the Sasha/Rosita talk. They really needed to hash things out. Not wild about Sasha's kamikaze attitude. She could be such an asset to the Hilltop. What good is she doing now, get herself captured or killed?

  • ...I completely forgot bob existed.
