"The one that didn't die..."

I loved this part because I feel like it added to clems character development. Everyone shes cared for is basically dead or gone and the fact that she's trying really hard to save AJ shows how she doesn't want that to happen anymore. Best part of the ep

Including the music Season 2's Main Menu Theme/Alternate Alive Inside track if I am correct. That just killed me. Could do nothing else but hug Clementine.

  • The track is actually called Goodbye, and while it was used for Season 2's menu, it was more famously used during Lee's death scene from Season 1.

  • Sorry, my bad. Thanks for correcting. Still lovin' it.

  • I don't know how I feel about that, to be honest.

  • On the contrary, I felt that line was smacked writing -- Telltale trying to roll the wheel of AJ's implied death. It rolled way too much for me that it became obvious AJ would turn out to be alive.

  • AJ is OP, hes been dropped like 20 times and didnt die from illness either.

That whole "The only one not to die" was kinda annoying, considering one of the biggest complains is that it seems Telltale just kills everyone.

  • Yeah but the fact that she says this kinda justifies them killing off all their characters since its adding to her character development. At least that's what I think

  • Clem is going through some serious survivor's guilt right now, and that one line really added a lot to her character development in this episode.

  • you guys dont get it she meant that everyone she was with before have died exept aj she thought it finnaly came someone who didnt die

  • Yeah but that's also just a poor excuse for reasoning of killing everyone.

"Look guys, it's suppose to be like everyone Clem is with dies and not our poor writing skills!"

  • I was relieved that she finally opened up so much. It made me feel like I would see the old Clementine from the last seasons again.

  • She has opened up on occasion before in previous episodes, but not in this way, also the fact that she appreciated the hug from Javier, (I am so glad we got to hug Clementine again, been wanting to do that since Lee died), the fact that she embraced the hug means that she is opening up to Javier on a deeper level, as well as maybe starting to trust people again.

I have always wanted Clem to be the main character of A New Frontier, but she isnt really, but our interactions with her this season gives me hope that we could get another season down the line, where we continue her journey somehow, people will say that she is shoehorned into this season, but I disagree, she has always been the focus of this series, not so much this season, but its still a testament to what this world will do to you, I hope we get to step into the shoes of Clementine again some day down the line. Although I am glad that this episode was alot better than the previous ones, but its still too, i dunno.. safe? for me, I havent felt the despair that season 1 and 2 brought, the direness of the world has been very downplayed this season compared to previous, and it was the dire situations that made it very interesting, because its in those dire situations you make the hard calls, rather than defaulting to being the "good guy"

Couldn't agree more. I've got the feeling that if Telltale will make another TWD season with Clementine, we will be able to fully step in her shoes again. Like, It always swichted between playing as a character who is close to Clem and playing as herself in the next season. For example in S1 as Lee, a father figure for her, in S2 as Clementine and in S3 as Javier, who is becoming a close friend and partner to her. So it would fit.

  • Fuck it dude better to have some effect then just to kill them off for no reason. It is what it is

  • It's to the point that's it's unrealistic EVERYONE clementine befriends dies and she magically survives every time.

  • So do you want Clem to die?

  • I want other people to survive along with her. And not to mention telltale has given some pretty bullshit deaths for the sake of killing characters off. Luke being one that comes to mind off the bat.

I wouldn't be surprised at this point if Clementine or anyone else gets killed. At this point every character is expendable.

  • I agree why else would they add a whole bunch of new characters and have it be from a different perspective

  • In my opinion it has nothing to do with bad writing, part of the reason I loved these games were because TT had the balls to kill a main character off so early in a big series. If they do it with Clem I wouldn't be that annoyed about it. No one is invincible forever in real life anyway, but I just have that little bit of hope that TT do hers right at least if it comes to it..

  • Sounds like S2....that worked well.

  • It was really novel at first when the "no one is safe" attitude hit the mainstream a few years ago with TWD and Game of Thrones, but its getting a bit overplayed. Eventually a continuing narrative needs a path or a strong leads to follow.

Killing off a main character? Cool. Killing off just about every single character in the game and quickly writing the survivors other than Clem within the first episode of the next game? Eh. It'd be nice to see that not happen again, and as it stands Clem is the only character around that even connects to the previous 2 games.

  • I thought it made sense for my Jane ending, since Jane, Kenny, Lee, Luke, all of them died.

But if you for example, abandoned Jane or Kenny is stupid, since they didn't die, you just don't want them near you.
