I don't think that's the case, Javi knows Clem's parents are dead (he heard her in the car in ep 2) and now that he learned about AJ too I think he's feeling sorry for Clem, I think he just thought Clem could use a hug since he learned she lost all of her loved ones and AJ could have been the one who didn't die.
Of course it could also be like you say, him feeling like he's hugging Mari but that was just how I saw it
I didn't cry there, but I did cry at the flashback, one of my ears is death and I was talking about AJ and I misheard and thought AJ called Clem 'mom', I started to bawl and my sister yelled at me.
Rewatching other people I still find it sad even though he said 'Clem' and not mom.
Remember when she used to scold us for swearing all of the time :') now she swears more than Larry and that's saying something. R.I.P Larry. He had charm coming out of his ass
I definitely had a sniffle thats for sure, Clementine is like a fictional daughter at this point, this is all I ever wanted from this season honestly, a way to show Clementine the love she has so desperately needed the last 2 years.
Short scenes is honestly my biggest problem with this season, I know Lees death was a season end, but lees death took like 5 to 10 minutes, and I was crying throughout it all, we barely get any time to do anything in A New Frontier, I dunno, while episode 3 was alot better than previous episodes, it still doesnt have that "Walking Dead" vibe I got when I played season 1 and 2, we never have a scene like sitting in the house with Luke, just talking and reminiscing Lee, or talking in the Ski Lodge, or staying at the motor inn, A New Frontier doesnt feel like the desparate world that season 1 and 2 was in the same way, I dunno
I don't trust him either! I don't think he's up to something necessarily, but something about him is off. I was really hoping that he'd become a better man, but something is still not right.
I don't understand why people are so eager to defend him, I understand that he's Javi's brother, I do, but the only time David really seems to remember this is when he can get Javi to do something for him. He was planning on forcing Javi to leave Richmond! IF he really loved his brother he would have fought tooth and nail for him to stay, and if that didn't work, then once Kate recovered they could all leave together, as a family. I mean, come on David, the guy has raised and protected your kids (sorry Mari) for YEARS! Even if Javi wasn't his brother, he OWES him.
Also, it's like people forgot what happened with Clementine! Okay, so David kicks Clementine out for trying to save AJ, it's horrible and completely heartless, but I get it. He's being pragmatic. KEEPING AJ? That's some next level kind of cruel, and makes zero sense.
And I know people are frustrated with the whole forced romantic tension between Kate and Javi, and some dislike her a lot because of it, but her relationship with David was clearly unhealthy, possibly (at the very least) verbally abusive. Kate is terrified of him. That counts for something.

Ok but havi knew clem for what like...3 days?? And now he's like a brother to clem?? The fuck!!?? Clem I thought I told you don't trust so quickly ._____.
I couldn't resist hugging Clem after that. Poor kid. (She was a bit irrational in the flashback but still, it sucks that that had to happen especially after everything.)
I was near to tears to be honest when those strings start hitting.

Yeah, I will say one of the few flaws with the episode is that the whole "Holding Clementine "hostage"" subplot isn't really a thing. I mean, even if it got downplayed because they're already inside Richmond, I was hoping for some interaction and vitriolic banter between the two.
Conrad: Hey man, I'm thinkin if we're really gonna get back into Richmond, we should've taken that chump up on his offer.
Clementine: Spoken like a true hero.

You mean Clem, the girl Javi met 3 days ago and we 5 years ago? Yes, the scene was emotional for me.
I did the same. I think that option was more realistic than a hug

Didn't have time for tears to run down my cheeks, silly telltale
Our Clem Q_Q Teenage mom.
I said David was horrible.
Are you trying to play realistic or what?
Realistic =/= Video games
I nearly cried... But not quite. I still get goosebumps at that scene though and that means something

With the apocalypse comes risk. You want somebody to like you before they die? Give them that hug and boost that relationship
I heard clem on both of my playthroughs
I definitely had a sniffle thats for sure, Clementine is like a fictional daughter at this point, this is all I ever wanted from this season honestly, a way to show Clementine the love she has so desperately needed the last 2 years.
Best moment of the season.
It was a ok moment I suppose. I wonder if Javier will die now because of it.
Yes but that doesn't mean I can't try to make it more so. I enjoy these types of games the more immersive they are

I was starting to tear up to mostly because if the choice of music from season 2 it made me feel nostalgic and reminded me of other characters too.
Yup. I just like roleplaying the character.
And also because I thought Clem would reject the hug but shh.
Haven't played yet but I sure as hell won't hug her.
Can't agree more

Batter up, fuckface lol

Why?!!
OMG, you guys are just acting too realistic and play this game as new players.
I think David lied about AJ ?
Btw you will also have conrad on the screen if u didn't kill him

Clementine: Spoken like a true hero.
He wont until episode 5 .You can see him in the episode 5 screen .
Good thing he apologizes in episode 3
Yup
In one day Lee managed to become a father to Clem.
I see what you did there...
Anyone who touches Clem or the hat will die...
One of the commandments!
Lee didn't have a family but Javier did
To Clementine? Cause I don't think they even said each others names, let alone speak.
I just played it as was finally out on iOS and this was so sad, I hope AJ is safe
Javier
