So maybe, what's killing the growth of conversations about the game in these forums are not the "negative nancies" using hyperbole to express their points (and sure, that may be a bad thing) but this "positive side" who settles by just dismissing everyone's complaints, giving very vague reasons as to why they like what they claim to like, posting snarky comments instead of, you know, arguing, and acting like they are in some kind of higher ground and that we are just some babies that don't know what we're talking about.
Its funny, because everything you described about the people who are pro ANF applies moreso to the people who are against it. lol
The thing about these "negative nancies" is that many of their criticisms aren't completely invalid, it's just so many have no desire to be … moreshown any differing opinions or viewpoints
So, are you saying this "positive side" of things has been the most crtitical and open minded as of lately and that the "negative nancies" have just been these stubborn ignorant pricks who just refuse to listen?
Well that's funny, because last I checked, on these forums, the "positive side" rarely (more like never actually) goes ahead to discuss or counter these "negative nancies'" arguments and prefers to settle with snarky one liners on other threads (like the very comment you just replied to) instead of engaging in a smart conversation about the game.
Either that or they give very a very vague description on what they like (like the OP). "I like character X", "I like the characterization", " The story is not flawed, I like it" are very common "a… [view original content]
That's not funny. It is funny that you're wrong twice in one post, though. Most of the complaints have been anything but vague, they've been detailed to a degree they shouldn't have to be as compared to "Javi is interestingeded!" I'll let you get back to your usual one liner responses now, toodles.

The initial release received a lot of push back because of the way it was advertised, which was handled poorly. With the release of Episode 3, there has been some positivity in the forums in regards to Season 3. Right now it might seem one-sided, as we're '3' episodes in, and most of the positive feedback came from 1/3 of that. Episode 4 has the potential to swing the tide, and win more people over. It's strange that it's following a reverse pattern to S2 where it had good momentum and fell off in the last episodes, but if it is going to be the opposite just think of what great things we might have to look forward to.
Nah, it's really not. I've yet to find anyone that loves the game give detailed reasons as to why they feel that way. Those of us on the other side have, quite continuously, made our viewpoint clear and if you're in need of evidence of that, simply take a look though the multiple threads on the topic. Rarely are any of the criticism made against the game without basis, yet it's the likes of you that are so adamant to dismiss it all, simply because you just so happen to enjoy it. Because you can't seem to accept that the game is, factually, a decline from what Telltale have previously created. You, after all, mostly seem to just contribute to this forum by moaning about us, with such comments as the one seen above. Yet, somehow in your mind, we're the ones giving the snarky comments and bringing nothing to the discussion...? Yeah, sure, mate.

Maybe because the last time the few people that did do that got shit on by the people that disliked it. Kinda lessens the motivation to engage in conversation with people who are going to be jerks to you for liking a game.
Yet, somehow in your mind, we're the ones giving the snarky comments and bringing nothing to the discussion...? Yeah, sure, mate.
Yes mate. You guys have been airing the same complaints, the same comments, making the same threads since December. You guys don't really add anything new to the conversation. lol

You know, as much as I dislike this season, its great to see positivity being exercised on the forums rather than repetitious animosity. You… more get a like.
And welcome to the forums!
Edit: Oops, I see you've actually been on the forums for quite some time. My bad.
Look, I get that all the people that don't like the game can get a bit... overbearing at times, but could we please, PLEASE not try to instigate even more shit by calling them negative nancies?
This is already a shitshow as it is, so let's not turn it into something worse-- a clusterfuck.
I'm not blaming you for anything. I'm just saying this community has many threads that are based on certain topics but people always go on a tangent and talk about how bad the game is when the thread is actually about the possitive aspects and not the negative ones.
Don't blame that shit on me. He is making it look like we don't exist. You think I wasn't a fan of S1/S2? I was a HUGE fan but ANF massively disappointed me in many ways.
Besides the handling of the Season 2 endings, I think that the game is great. I actually think that Above The Law is one of the best episodes in the entire series.
You sound just like Larry, only that it's not charm that's coming out of your arse, instead it's arrogance. Just because someone likes something you don't it doesn't mean he/she is an "average" player, even if the adjective doesn't make much sense, the meaning can be deduced.
This is a positive thread about ANF, so why are you complaining here?
There are plenty of threads where you can complain, and I don't bug you there.
The fact is you can't stand I mentioned there are thousands of good reviews on steam.
And most of the bad reviews are just about length of the game.. because peoples love to play longer times.
Actually the fact is you want to make it look like no one in the world loves ANF wich is not true.
the fact is thousands of peoples like this season!
Yeah? Here's another fact - 32% of those 3000 people on Steam hate the game (ANF … moreis 78% on Steam, S1 was 97% and S2 was 96%). You can't just dismiss VALID criticism because of an opinion of yours.
You sound just like Larry, only that it's not charm that's coming out of your arse, instead it's arrogance. Just because someone likes somet… morehing you don't it doesn't mean he/she is an "average" player, even if the adjective doesn't make much sense, the meaning can be deduced.
Because you don't like something does not mean you have to get angry because still many thousands are positive!
Steam is still the most trustworthy source.
And on youtube we can find plenties of fans.
Just let people enjoy this game, and you can enjoy different games.
Wow, thousands like the game, thats still like 5% max of the people playing the game, also, you can say what you want, but steam reviews are… morent anything to go by, also consider this, all the top rated reviews all rate it negatively, besides, you cant trust a rating system that is either "like" or "dont like", while I dont agree with numbered ratings either, you simply cant judge a game based on reviews that are black and white, I have often seen games that get a thumbs up review on steam, you simply cant take steam reviews at face value.
And if you want to take steam reviews at face value, here is a stat, Season 1 and 2 both have above 95% positive reviews on steam, A New Frontier has less than 80%, so by definition its alot worse than previous games, even season 2, which was also critizised by alot of people. But again, it doesnt matter since steam reviews are inaccurate as fuck, and most games get above 70% positive reviews, even if they suck
I wasn't really sure how i felt about the season after the first 2 episodes came out... but after playing episode 3 I was sold. I finally understood how Telltale are implementing Clementine and I love how it's different to the last seasons as much as I would have loved to play as her!

I'm still not too thrilled with her being mainly a prop to get people to like Javier tbh, though I'm still hoping the next two episodes will have a big payoff and turn out great.

And you should wait until this Season is completed for the most accurate numbers.
I remember very well with the first 2 episodes of Season 2, I saw plenty of complains in Steam because peoples got annoyed to play Clementine and not Lee, peoples were mad about Christa and Omid died from the beginning and mad because Clem met some paranoid asshole group from the start.
Peoples complained about playing a young kid with supernatural skills like sewing her arm, instead of playing the badass adult.
And hell, now we are supposed to believe Season 2 is great:)
Wich is true of course.

Except he literally didn't do that, all he said was the people who don't like the game have detailed the reasons why, and people dismiss them or feel the need to parade through every thread to literally just say "I liek it!"
Great. Go like the game. I don't care. If you're going to argue that it has great steam reviews, people will point out the reviews are no where near as positive as the first two games. But for all your complaining about people going into positive threads, there have been a lot more negative threads(as has been pointed out), all of the guest staring the same people who jump in to ignore everything said about it so they can tell the world that they love the game in one sentence.
It is not up to you to critisize peoples wether they like a game or not.
You like David, I like Tripp.
You may like candy bars, I may ha… morete candy bars.
Do I have to explain too why I don't like to eat candy bars, just because you like it?
Stop being angry with peoples having different opinions. Just be you and let others be what they are and stop trying to ruin their fun.
There are plenties of great reviews by Steam users.
So go there if you want to read about good reasons for loving this game.
Good point.
Only it is me being thrilled about the first 3 episodes.
But the last 2 episodes can actually break this whole season..
So I can't wait to play the final episode.
I hope it won't end like season 2 with cheap deaths of the entire cast.
I'm still not too thrilled with her being mainly a prop to get people to like Javier tbh, though I'm still hoping the next two episodes will have a big payoff and turn out great.
It is getting tiring watching everyone die at the end of each season, definitely be a welcome change if we get a decent sized group survive, maybe even forming a legitimate community instead of heading out on the road again.

You are the one who is argueing because someone finally telling there is plenties of great reviews in steam.
What angers you about this?
Because I like to show some positive light in this forum?
Do I see a little dictatorship in this forum?
I didn't say there is no bad reviews, I just said there is THOUSANDS of good reviews in Steam!
Dudes like you just want to make it 100% negative wich is not realistic.
The second season had as much negative reviews when episode one just came out..I remember that very well.
But I don't care, I always liked it even when people were complaining at the beginning.
And you seem to be very blind and ignoring the reviews even on this thread and Steam.
There are lot of peoples comming with good reasons why they like this game..you just want to read those similar to yours.

And you know what you can't stand? The fact that people hate the game as well.
If you actually read the negative reviews (all time section), you would know that most aren't about length but about the quality. They just got hidden because they're from over 30 days ago.
Look, I understand there are people who genuinely like the game and that is fine. I understand this is a positive thread and wouldn't have commented at all if you didn't post that comment where you said we were just "repeating negative kids" who "hated S2 but now love it" because that is not the case at all.
This is a positive thread about ANF, so why are you complaining here?

But even enjoying a story can be a subjective matter to a certain degree. Everyone has different expectations to how things will play out and those same expectations dictate whether or not they enjoy the said story. We don't even know where the story is heading yet, there are two more episodes to go and people have already thrown the entire game into the bin.
The things that made Season 1 and Season 2 (in my opinion) great is that they had had a very satisfying tie-up at the end. We saw characters develop and the story evolve up to the final moment, the ending. What I mean to say is that if Season 1 ended at ep. 3 or 4, would it have received the same praise? No.
Story driven games absolutely rely on the ending. The ending to Season 1 it what made is so great in my opinion and I'm sure in many other people's opinion as well. Now ANF is barely at the third episode and some already deem it a bad game. Where's the logic in that? When you eat a dish, do you just eat half of it and just give your verdict?
LOL, no, Season 2 never dipped this low on steam, at this point in the season or compared to the first episodes initial reviews. I remember because I saw them.
You just keep spouting the same rhetoric in poorly worded replies ignoring everything else, then accuse others of doing the same while ignoring the hypocrisy of your position. If there are THOUSANDS of positive reviews, then why has the rating been steadily falling from its mid-80s original reception to the 70s? You either have a hard time understanding the majority agree its nowhere near as good its predecessors, or you simply lack the ability to. Either way, your issues with critical and comprehension are problems only you can deal with. Why would I be angry that the reviews reflect my statements? I don't think that word means what you think it does, but regardless, you can be as ignorant as you want in regards to the general consensus of ANF, but ignoring reality doesn't mean it's not what's happening.
You are free to enjoy ANF as much as you want, candy bars as much as you want, go right on ahead. But the fact is saying THOUSANDS of people enjoy the game so its super duper amazing doesn't change the fact that as more people play the episodes, more people are disliking the game. Nor does it change the fact that most of those positive reviews are as articulately worded as your responses.
There you go again...
Angry one..

I think the main difference is both of those games had very strong openings as well, and by this point in the season most had formed their opinions on the characters because there was ample development for them rather than relying on over the top action and minimal interactions. I mean, if I eat a dish and its undercooked or not cooked at all, I'm going to send it back, not finish it and give my verdict.

Do you have a reading and understanding problem?
I just wrote a lot of people like this game, despite the fact many seem to dislike it.

Nope, you started a cyber war in this little thread.
Look all hostile comments are from you just because someone wrote above 2000 steamers love the game.
And your best answer is: steam and youtube are fake. And over 30% hate this game blabla.
It seem to be very one sided with you and people can only please you when they write: 'I hate this game. ANF is bad.
No one likes this game. Almost 100% of reviews are against this game.'
And don't put words in my mouth.. I never said this game is better than the first Seasons.
I just said not everyone is barking about how bad this season is like you do.

I think the relationship with Clementine only makes sense if you make all the pro Clementine choices, which is my biggest problem so far, none of the choices makes any difference for Clems perception of Javi, back in season 1 Kenny would either hate or like Lee depending on choices, but in season 3 Clementine doesnt even care if you sell her out to Conrad for instance
is the forced relationship between Javier and Clementine that Telltale are wanting to put into place. It makes little sense given either of … moretheir actions and the short amount of time that they have know each other.
Yes. That was one of the problems I had with EP1+2. I was a part of the few non-biased Clem lovers who didn't side with her at every turn. I played it as Javier. He just met her, she threatened him and wants to take his car, so when she causes commotion in Prescott, he wants no relation to her, blah blah blah etc. Repeat for other Clem choices in episodes 1 and 2. Of course in Episode 3 I had Javi start to warm up to her and trust her more, so now they're on the same page, but the inconsistency of that relationship they had in the first few episodes was just... off. If Javi bails Clem out in Prescott, but then they both get locked up together later, Clem says: "we make a good team". Why? You only met a few hours ago, and n… [view original content]
I'm not "loving" it but I have been enjoying it. This forum is so dour and negative, at least the WD part is, that it is nice to see someone being positive for a change.
It seems the information is still not comming through your brains, so I have to give up on you.
I totally understand what is wrong in YOUR picture with this game.
But this doesn't count for the rest of the world who actually enjoy this game for many reasons.
So I don't really care about you still trying to push me to hate this game.
And this isn't about the numbers of previous seasons, but about a LOT of peoples who enjoyed playing this Season, and you ignore this.
Again: NOT EVERYONE HATES THIS GAME despite the fact many do.

And I'm not your buddy, pal.
Your point is smart people don't like the game, it's not a point, it's you declaring that you are right. And to be honest you don't come off as well educated as you might think since any real critic who knows "how does your brain work" knows that it's all subjective. Something considered a masterwork by most will still have its detractors and those criticisms are completely valid the same applies the other way around.
I never said everyone hates this game, kiddo, and I guarantee I'm older than you. Regardless, I said I don't care if you like it. Go right on ahead. But this isn't my picture. This game has nearly as many negative reviews as both of the previous games, and its only been out for a few months while they've been out for years. By comparison, it has no where near as many positive reviews as either.
Is this too complicated for you, little buddy? Does being on pace to surpass the amount of negative reviews season 1 has gotten over the course over 4 years and surpassing the negative reviews season 2 has gotten over 3 years, all in a matter of months, not compute? At this rate, it may well surpass the combined total of negative reviews both games got. But you're too busy spouting numbers that give you a false sense of security in your own opinion to move beyond your ignorant viewpoint.
When you reach highschool, don't join the debate team. You'll be laughed out of the class. But in the meantime, go enjoy your game. I'd say I'm happy you like it, but as I've said before I simply don't care that you do. It doesn't bother me as much as people not liking the game bothers you, and I'm sorry you feel the need to argue at every step with misleading numbers while excluding the more damning ones just to feel secure in your enjoyment of the game. Other peoples opinions shouldn't make you question your own.
Ok kid.
It seems the information is still not comming through your brains, so I have to give up on you.

I'm also like'n season 3 so far ^_^ i liked some of the characters; i'm totally fine with play'n as a new character, even if we only get to play as Clem in flashbacks. So i dun see wtf is da big'o deal is here. This is mainly bout Havi and his fam but also clem as a supporting character now instead of da main like last season. Its kinda refreshing to actually play this game as a totally new character imo. :P

Its funny, because everything you described about the people who are pro ANF applies moreso to the people who are against it. lol
Nah, it's really not. I've yet to find anyone that loves the game give detailed reasons as to why they feel that way. Maybe because the last time the few people that did do that got shit on by the people that disliked it. Kinda lessens the motivation to engage in conversation with people who are going to be jerks to you for liking a game.
Yes mate. You guys have been airing the same complaints, the same comments, making the same threads since December. You guys don't really add anything new to the conversation. lol
If even @Everyone'sClemInTime is sick of all the negativity, you know you fucked up
joking around as per usual
Look, I get that all the people that don't like the game can get a bit... overbearing at times, but could we please, PLEASE not try to instigate even more shit by calling them negative nancies?
This is already a shitshow as it is, so let's not turn it into something worse-- a clusterfuck.
I'm not blaming you for anything. I'm just saying this community has many threads that are based on certain topics but people always go on a tangent and talk about how bad the game is when the thread is actually about the possitive aspects and not the negative ones.
Same here on all counts, great season in my opinion but would have liked if Clementine had more screen time.
This forum is overrun by complaining peoples.
With the next season they will complain about how great the previous was and shitty the new one is.
Because you don't like something does not mean you have to get angry because still many thousands are positive!
Steam is still the most trustworthy source.
And on youtube we can find plenties of fans.
Just let people enjoy this game, and you can enjoy different games.
Even if English isn't your first language you can't act like a snob and then have the worst grammar, its not a good look buddy.
I wasn't really sure how i felt about the season after the first 2 episodes came out... but after playing episode 3 I was sold. I finally understood how Telltale are implementing Clementine and I love how it's different to the last seasons as much as I would have loved to play as her!
It is not up to you to critisize peoples wether they like a game or not.
You like David, I like Tripp.
You may like candy bars, I may hate candy bars.
Good point.
Only it is me being thrilled about the first 3 episodes.
But the last 2 episodes can actually break this whole season..
So I can't wait to play the final episode.
I hope it won't end like season 2 with cheap deaths of the entire cast.
It is getting tiring watching everyone die at the end of each season, definitely be a welcome change if we get a decent sized group survive, maybe even forming a legitimate community instead of heading out on the road again.
There you go again...
Angry one..
Hey, thanks!
YouTube is the fakest site on Earth. I'm not saying there are no fans at all on YouTube but take YouTube with a grain of salt.
Yes.
This is your logics:
People belong to the advanced players when you dislike this game.
And people belong the average players when you like this game
So since you dislike this game, you belong to the very advanced gamers
Above 2000 good reviews versus 775 bad reviews..
Do you have a reading and understanding problem?
I just wrote a lot of people like this game, despite the fact many seem to dislike it.
Still in denial buddy.
I got to believe from you Steam and Youtube are fake..
Lol, I just see most of the complaining ones in this forum.
Are you telling me this Walking dead threads members are the majority of gamers?
Why are you even here if all you want to do is to convince the world how everyone hates ANF.
Are you a child?
Wow, it already has more negative reviews than season 2, and 300 less than season 1 at the halfway point with less than half a year on the market? And this is your main defense of the game? You seem to be struggling understanding what's wrong with this picture.
And I'm not your buddy, pal.
I'm not "loving" it but I have been enjoying it. This forum is so dour and negative, at least the WD part is, that it is nice to see someone being positive for a change.
Ok kid.
This part of the forum hasn't been positive since In Harms Way got released...
