And don't put words in my mouth.. I never said this game is better than the first Seasons.
I never said you said this...?
Obviously it'll be one sided with me because I despise this game and want Telltale to do BETTER not worse (even if it seems like I want Telltale to fail). I still accept there are people who love the game even if it doesn't show (I'm sure it doesn't show). The reason I brought up the reviews was because compared to previous seasons, this went down by 20%. ANF is worse in terms of length and that is a FACT yet the price is the same. I'm going to stop here because I turned this thread into a negative one already and realise this was supposed to be positive. I apologise about that to everyone who wanted a positive thread but it could've helped if you didn't call us "repeating negative kids who hated S2 but now love S2".
Nope, you started a cyber war in this little thread.
Look all hostile comments are from you just because someone wrote above 2000 steamer… mores love the game.
And your best answer is: steam and youtube are fake. And over 30% hate this game blabla.
It seem to be very one sided with you and people can only please you when they write: 'I hate this game. ANF is bad.
No one likes this game. Almost 100% of reviews are against this game.'
And don't put words in my mouth.. I never said this game is better than the first Seasons.
I just said not everyone is barking about how bad this season is like you do.
Did you read my comment? Because if you did, you might have noticed something. Nowhere did I say that those who like the game had to explain why they feel that way. You're perfectly entitled to like the fuck out of the game and never give an explanation for all I care. You like the game? Good for you. I hope you enjoy it.
What I was pointing out, though, in response to SSJ4's claim that, we, the "negative nancies" are the ones giving the vague reasoning, that we're the ones leaving the snarky comments and that we're the ones dismissing people's opinions, is that it's actually you on the other side of the spectrum that those descriptions suit far more. I'm not insulting you, personally or anyone that likes the game for that matter, but what I am doing is alluding to what I've seen and making it clear that what was said, is just simply, incorrect. I have yet to encounter anyone on these forums who claims to like the game give detailed explanations for it, outside of the typically seen "I like the plot. I think it's interesting. So are the characters". That's not the problem, though. The problem is that those who do make such comments seem to regularly find the need to dismiss the very legit criticism of the game from us, as though we're complaining for the sake of it.
It is not up to you to critisize peoples wether they like a game or not.
You like David, I like Tripp.
You may like candy bars, I may ha… morete candy bars.
Do I have to explain too why I don't like to eat candy bars, just because you like it?
Stop being angry with peoples having different opinions. Just be you and let others be what they are and stop trying to ruin their fun.
There are plenties of great reviews by Steam users.
So go there if you want to read about good reasons for loving this game.
And don't put words in my mouth.. I never said this game is better than the first Seasons.
I never said you said this...?
Obvious… morely it'll be one sided with me because I despise this game and want Telltale to do BETTER not worse (even if it seems like I want Telltale to fail). I admit the dish comparison was not that good, but you get the point.
They had strong openings yeah, but those openings are stong in relation with the ending, not by themselves. Time will tell though, I personally like the season so far.
I think the main difference is both of those games had very strong openings as well, and by this point in the season most had formed their o… morepinions on the characters because there was ample development for them rather than relying on over the top action and minimal interactions. I mean, if I eat a dish and its undercooked or not cooked at all, I'm going to send it back, not finish it and give my verdict.
I think the relationship with Clementine only makes sense if you make all the pro Clementine choices, which is my biggest problem so far, no… morene of the choices makes any difference for Clems perception of Javi, back in season 1 Kenny would either hate or like Lee depending on choices, but in season 3 Clementine doesnt even care if you sell her out to Conrad for instance
I´ve become comfortably numb because of never ending hate toward S3 but people like you bring a ray of happiness here Thank you
Its shame that this community consists of toxic ´´fans´´ united in their hatred. Some of them wants to see Clementine die which is something I dont understand.
When I recall S2, Episode 3 In harms way wasnt as good as the rest of the season...same thing happend with Above The Law. It feels too much like a bridge episode, but what will come after that....it´ll be worth it.
Fair enough, there's still time for ANF to redeem itself, and that's a personal thing since I know there are people who enjoy the game. I was just expecting something that tied into the previous seasons i played, this feels so alienated from them. Like, they eliminated the choices we made in season 2 very early on and gave us generic version of a character we know to work off of.

Everyone has different opinions. You don't have to take it seriously, but at least respect that some people (myself included) may prefer elements of A New Frontier over Season 2.
I'm loving s3 so far, I like the characters and their relationships better than s2's characters.
I can't take this thread seriously because of this sentence...
It really is a shame. I couldn't continue playing if Clem wouldn't make it man, in my mind, this whole series truly is her story.
I'm really looking forward to the next episodes, can't wait to see what happens!

She is not gonna die In Telltale they know very well how much we cherish her. Its her story no matter from whose perspective it is told.
If she died it would be the same as death of Rick in comic book/tv series. They both gonna make it till the end.
And yeah...what we are about to witness is gonna be so good as it gets. I have got the feeling that Clem will be the playable character in Episode 4, at least at the beggining.
Aw, thanks

And Kenny was what Clementine is now, an obligatory placeholder for previous season's "choices" to feel as though any effect had been carried over through poorly written dialogue and forced exposition.
I don't think anything really worked either but the situation at the time was that when Kenny was around, most people didn't really focus on the bigger issues of S2 and just let that all slide because they were more focused on Kenny because he was "awesome and tragic."
I'd argue nothing much "worked" for S2.
And Kenny was what Clementine is now, an obligatory placeholder for previous season's "choices" t… moreo feel as though any effect had been carried over through poorly written dialogue and forced exposition.
But I digress.
I've been very critical of Season 3 as a whole, and as most have stated have engaged in detailed discussions in regards to what I feel was handled poorly or was disappointed in. I realize that since I posted in this discussion, I didn't give it the same details that I would normally contribute - mostly oddly due to the manner of which those that had something positive to say have been strangely targeting people rather than discussing the game itself.
So, what do I like about Season 3?
The relationship between David and Kate : This dynamic has offered a level of character depth, complexity, and development that I feel hasn't been seen since Season One's cast ( including all spin-off's, and Season Two ). I'm completely throwing out the love triangle here, and focusing solely on the relation between the pair of them, because it's such a great example of a he said, she said narrative. All the context that Kate offers us in dialogue leads many people to sympathize with her, and paints her husband in a villainous light. All the actions we see from meeting David is nothing but what one might expect from a husband and father, seeking their safety and well being. It's left the community divided as to which one of them is actually the 'bad person' in this failed marriage. Kudos to the game for not creating a black and white the woman is the victim and the guy is scum scenario.
Determent characters aren't brushed off : Confession time - I killed him. I don't regret killing him. I still feel like the way the choice was presented was poor and contrived, however I am nothing but thrilled that if you don't kill him : he's utilized. This isn't just a great change for this Season, it's the way I hope Telltale handles characters in the future. Not only does he gain extra screen time, but he also is further developed.
I like the villain structure : Note I didn't say I liked Betty Crocker, but I do like the design of the episodes building with 'mini-bosses' towards a threat. It really lends itself to still giving a satisfactory progression while not getting rid of a main villain too early. I do hope that design continues as it could lead to a much more dynamic villain in the leagues of Negan and the Governor, and allow for villains to be a much greater threat/have an emotional impact on characters.
** I enjoyed the first sequence in the game** : Part of the reason why I dislike the time skips so much is because I really liked how TellTale handled the introduction of the Garcia family. The relationship between Javier and David when we first meet them is very fluid, and I regret that the family was thrown away so quickly because of how well it was handled. The emotions displayed between the two characters is so well displayed here, and honestly the two of them carry the series as far as when they're together the family dynamic is incredibly strong.
I don't think anything really worked either but the situation at the time was that when Kenny was around, most people didn't really focus on… more the bigger issues of S2 and just let that all slide because they were more focused on Kenny because he was "awesome and tragic."
I just find more believable when a group meets a new member they are not immediately trusting her and do not greet her with open arms and amazement, especially after 4 years into ZA.
Or maybe I only find the group's sadistic route more enjoyable and interesting?

most people didn't really focus on the bigger issues of S2 and just let that all slide because they were more focused on Kenny because he was "awesome and tragic."
This literally didn't happen. Many people took issue with the shorter episodes, lack of hubs and debate on Clementine being the protagonist.
There were people who took issue with Kenny's return too. I don't know where you got the idea that people let these issues 'slide'.

The cabin group were hardly sadistic, their initial skepticism was interesting but they went from being weary toward her to almost overnight entrusting her with huge amounts of responsibility and seemingly pushing her to the front of the pack and even going so far as to ask for her advice without much lead up.
This issue with character relations has been very much prevalent since Season 1 even, just was the most clunky in S2. That's what happens when you have an entire ensemble cast fit for a lengthy video game series forcibly squeezed into roughly 8 hours.

I was talking more in a sense that Kenny made S2 more tolerable for LOTS of people which led to them giving the season a pass in its launch and most of what you're saying didn't really even spring up until well after S2 was finished.

Well, to be fair, Telltale stopped caring about the franchise after that. They just kind of threw in the towel and said: "Let's just kill everyone off and put multiple endings at the end so it looks like we thought this all through."
I was talking more in a sense that Kenny made S2 more tolerable for LOTS of people which led to them giving the season a pass in its launch and most of what you're saying didn't really even spring up until well after S2 was finished.

I'm pretty shit at reviewing games and their aspects so I'm not gonna go in depth about what it is that makes the story interesting etc.
S1 and S2 were better, but this game is still great for me. I don't have any problems with this game at all and I'm basically okay with everything in it.
I know it's a sloppy explanation, but I don't really know what to say. I just like every single trait of this game
So, out of curiosity, why is it that you enjoy this game so much if you don't mind me asking?

There's been a lot of negativity floating around the forums, more so than usual. This thread I see dedicated to positive opinions or ideas for The Walking Dead Game. I'm not trying to kill free speech, I just think it's good to have a healthy balance of positivity as well.
Personally, I'm loving a New Frontier. I'm enjoying playing as Javi and I'm genuinely engaged in the story. Clem is as badass as ever, and I think the new characters are interesting. They aren't as dynamic or engaging as the Motor Inn crew or the Cabin Group, but interesting and likeable nonetheless.

Just bring Kenny back from the dead and everyone will automatically forgive S3's faults.

There's already a thread for that here :: https://telltale.com/community/discussion/113680/loving-s3
