And even if those didn't happen the only real mistakes he's made is pulling a gun on Conrad and messing up during Kate's surgery and even then unlike Ben and Nick nobody died because of a mistake he made, even if Javi tells him to shoot Conrad. I daresay not even Clementine can claim that nobody died because of a mistake she made.

I've played the Walking Dead a: a new frontier and I can't get why people hate Gabe for. He's just a teenager trying to help in this apocalyptic world. He's not ben, who messes up the group in many ways, and he isn't a Sarah, who's dependent on her father> Honestly, I feel that his character could've been written a little better, but that's just me. Maybe I'm a little sympathetic towards the character. If anyone could explain or show me why they hate him, it would be very grateful.

Likely because of his constant need to prove himself ends up causing trouble for other people such as getting Javier's shoulder slashed by a guard in Episode 4 when Gabe bursts out of hiding to take him on without a weapon in hand. He can also snitch on his uncle for what he did to Conrad in front of Tripp and Eleanor, and this is after saving Gabe's life when Conrad threatens to kill him, which makes Gabe look pretty damn ungrateful towards his uncle.
There's also how Gabe shows an interest in bonding with Clementine, when some feels that Clementine deserves better friends than him.
I think it's mostly because it looks like telltale is forcing gabentine down the player's throat, after we're so attached to clementine. It just doesn't feel right.
I think a lot more people would be able to look past his flaws if he wasn't making moves on clementine the whole time. Now lots of people want him to die simply so this won't be a possibility. If he wasn't gonna get shipped with clementine and we knew this 100% then I think a lot of people would be more indifferent towards him.

No, but for real, Gabe had the odds against him the minute Kate drew attention to him, as he's not Clementine(or Mariana for that matter), he's a boy, he's a teenager, he's a hothead, he makes mistakes, and he's the same age as Clementine. I hope he at least can redeem himself in episode 5. It'd be really depressing to see him being torn apart by the zombies, once again leaving Clementine the only 13 year old in the game.

No way he would have survived for 4 years in the apocalypse the way he acts, he crosses orders, doesnt think, acts irrationally and hotheaded, acts like a kid and complains when he get treated like a kid, and dont give me that "he was sheltered" bullcrap, the first time we see Gabe, he is out looking for supplies with the rest of them at the junkyard ON HIS OWN, he also has a gun, which indicates that he is outside the van on a regular basis, yet has absolutely 0 survival skills
