Who do you want to survive most?
What if the final new frontier choice had somehow come to be between Clementine or Javier. Maybe similar to the Kenny or Jane choice from last season. Who'd you pick to continue on to be in the old frontier next "season"?

That sounds really stupid, honestly.
I'd rather not answer that.
Kate.
No one else is even remotely interesting or worthy enough to be left alive by the end of the season.
Clementine and AJ are the only ones that truly matter.
True, yet she's not really one of my top priority of survivors for some reason.
Clem, no contest.
David's the only other one I'd probably even consider keeping around since I feel he's got the most to add to an in-depth story, but yeah.
I just want an interesting character to make it through ONE season for once.
Like new frontier?
...
[ Let's the timer run out ]
Nah man, you just want more of her sweet dope to smoke while driving and talking about boners.
Agreed.
New Frontier sounds like a story with an interesting and badass journey.
Talking about boners while high beats complaining about having a baby no one knows anything about still, being taken from you because of careless lack of precaution to flee from the dangerous area before attempting to stick a damn needle in a toddler's arm like an idiot.
So yeah, you're kind of right.
That sounds really like individual opinion, honestly. Even though I admit I was intentionally silly so as to attempt a light-hearted joke at the next season's unknown title by calling it the opposite of the present title just to poke fun. So not so funny frontier for you I guess L.O.L.
I didn't know what humor was then, apparently. Still, the whole Clementine or Garcia choice is so predictable that I honestly don't know what it'd be trying to prove.
Luke versus Kenny was predictable, but more logical compared to what it ended up actually being at the end. Then it turned into fans versus fans on the forums. Some say David's reveal as the antagonist's leader was also predictable but some liked that "twist" while others saw it coming afar. I'm one of them.
Sometimes predictability can be atleast executed well as unpredictability can end up looking off-beat or "stupid" as you'd might put it. Like there could be a great chance of a brotherly brawl in one of the next couple episodes over Kate.
Bit cliche.. but maybe it could be done right instead of doing something off the wall again for the sake of twist and turn value like last season did only to get say Javi vs Tripp last minute for example. The guy already accepted Javier after a day of trouble as his "boss" or whatever, maybe he'll hate his guts in a couple hours right before the finale because he accidentally causes Elenore to get killed. At this point nothing should be put past Telltale games.
A Clem or Javier last choice could be used as a form of test from telltale to prove which character is more likeable for top protoganist of season 4. The more "popular" end choice decides the main player character of season 4, like as with voting. Tad far fetched idea but again.. it's possible.
Agreed.
Maybe it was "predictable" because that's actually what they built up and even advertised to some degree since Kenny was reintroduced.
Honestly though, Above the Law not only seems to have diverted from that idea but I'm pretty sure a fair number of people don't want that to happen anyway. At least with Luke and Kenny, there was this "in-house" debate over which form of leadership and survival is the best, as well as an indirect attempt at a personal conflict on Clementine's part--not to mention both having followers inside the same group to support and potentially add to the idea of it being political alongside ideological. With Javier and David, it'd just be a reproductive competition between two brothers, one of who literally put a ring on it--and the two completely separate "teams" likely don't have much investment to begin with, especially with another much stronger force having revealed itself. It'd be Kenny vs. Carver again except inverted.
That'd be almost as lame as if they went with the sexist "Eleanor has to be a traitor" prediction for Above the Law, if it wasn't so arbitrary to begin with.
And honestly, that's my problem with many of the either/or choices: they're just cheap popularity contests rather than a story-relevant dilemma for the player. Instead of truly testing your mindset as an ethical person or tailoring the experience to your gameplay choices, it's just there for the sake of easy drama and because it's iconic. Sarah or Jane is easily the most blatant and disgusting in that regard.
How often has Telltale done what a fair number of folks wanted?Ha They have also been advertising this brother rivalry since the first episode's prologue and Javi's kitchen flashbacks. So a "you mad bro?" moment could still be on the horizon or could not or at the very least a big decision involving David's life I'd guess as opportunity to be with his wife. & Just because they are trying to cooperate temporarily to bring down a common enemy and avenge Mariana doesn't necessarily negate other animosities within. Some of their last exchanges regarding plans of action from ep.3 can sound rather stand offish.
Kate's trying to get away from Dave to be with Javi. Gabe is obviously more for team David than Javi after ep. 3. While Clem might like Gabe she hates his father and definitely would side with Javi before Dave... It's not really all that unlike the tragic love triangle seen with Lori, Shane and Rick, just Kate and Javier claimed to haven't messed around yet. But there seems to be some sort of divide between them
But In truth nothing was ever really 100 % predictable in these games and the storyline, only coincidentally correct theories.. unless information had been leaked. Even more so now since we don't have those next time sneak peek trailers at the end of the episode.
Ya know whatever they decide. Be it a lame plot move or not, only time will Telltale to be sure.
I want David to survive through this. Hoping they don't make him evil against Javi just because of Kate.
You think forced romance chick is the most interesting character this season? Damn.
Javi and David
Much more so than forced reoccurring child character with no discernible personality or forced evil asshole with no discernible motivation.
Yep.
Me too i want it to be by choice i really like david as a character and a brother I can't say the same bout he's wife that she tottaly careless about him and he trying to protect her and gabe and fix TNF and what they become and protect every one. she only tries to think about saving her skin and take he's only left son.
Her son you know what ignore that I said her son she dosen't deserve him at all gabe is more of an adult than her he think about he's famliy and he's father he is loyal he is a man and if he keep up being a man i might rethink about gabentine it may not be a bad idea after all.
Clem, hands down.
Although I wouldn't be upset if both Clem and Javier survived. I don't hate him and kind of find him an okay character. But I have an emotional attachment to Clem that I don't have with Javier.
Javier, David, Tripp, and Kate.
Honorable mentions (if they don't die that'd be great, but I'd prefer the above to survive more): Conrad, Max, Gabe, Ava, and Lingard
Not including Clementine, because that just goes without saying, I'd imagine.
So basically, pretty much the entire current roster. Eleanor is about the only person part of the main cast that I'm not very keen on at all. Still though, I'd like to see this season continue to be the least deadly one (Mariana and Badger are the only major characters (relatively speaking) to have died this season... non-determinantly, at least)
edit: Oh wait, I missed the part where the question was Clementine vs Javi... well, that ain't even remotely fair. Yeah, I'd pick Clementine. But let's be honest, if it came to that choice, that means she'd be determinant... and we all know that's even worse than a death sentence. So I'd rather they both survive and that choice never happens. The way they did Kenny was bad enough as it is, if that shit happened with Clementine in a possible S4, that would finally be more bullshit than I could tolerate. And I have a pretty high tolerance to bullshit.
I'd honestly rather not see the choice come down to Javi or Clem either, as it would either lead to the end of the series where those two characters appear, or they receive the ' dead within the first episode ' treatment for financial reasons. ( You'd essentially have to create two games in one as I can't fathom a way those two particular characters would have parallel dialogue options between all other characters for another season. )
As to who I would like to survive S3 : David, Javi, Clem. I would prefer if Gabe, Ava, and Lingard survived also. Lower on the list I would add Tripp and Kate. ( Sorry AJ, I honestly was hoping for an off-screen death for him before the start of S3. Infants/toddlers just sort of pigeonhole the writers to get rid of them for action/development sake, but not for too long because adventures in apocalyptic babysitting is a plot device. )
Conrad because if he can make it out, then there's hope for Rodrik and that's all I care about.
Agreed, except AJ.
I'm sure they will animate and voice a character for 2 more episodes that only 10% of people have in their games. Don't get me wrong, I like Conrad and it would be awesome, but no.
Well, he made it longer than any other determinant character (besides Doug/Carley).
ok, this isn't a thread about likelihood to survive
Javier is an evil asshole??
Btw noooooo you changed your beautiful Elena and Nate display pic ahhhhgggghhhhhh!
Lol no, I'm referring to the forgettable randy who was laughing about killing a child.
And yeah, von Trier is my new bae.
What;s wrong with Eleanor?
Kate>Tripp>Eleanor>Conrad>David>Gabe
Didn't include Javi and Clem because I really doubt they're going anywhere.
Javi, Clem, AJ, David, Tripp, and Ava as of right now.
Kate, Eleanor, Clementine and AJ.
Ahhh!!
As many characters alive as possible by the end of the season.
Having every character but Clementine (and possibly Javier) is getting rather ancient at this point.
