  • Why would anyone ship this? I need valid reasons.

    Because that's how fanbases work.

I love this back-&-forth paddling... I will ask this again, without/somehow being blamed, Why would anyone ship this? I need valid reasons.

  • I wish Mari wasn't 1000% dead so we could've had Clementine just having a friend... y'know, TTG trying to fix the damage they did with Sarah's 'arc' in Season 2.

Dude, I don't know about you or the rest of the people saying that, but that'd honestly just make it even worse. I may not like that they're pushing that ship so hard, but at least it's something different.

  • At this point I give up on hoping TellTale will make it at least a choice. It's happening.

    Ugh.

  • I have a funny story for you. I met my wife online and asked her to marry me on the first day we talked.

She said yes, moved to another state for me and we've been married for the last 6 years. All that happened in about a month's time and all because I asked her to marry me the first day we talked. But I guess according to you that wasn't enough time to do what we did and be in a relationship. And yet here we are 6 years later.

Unlike most (Apparently) I don't hate Gabe as a character and I don't treat Clementine as a real life daughter that I have to protect from the evils of dating. I like them together and that's enough for me.

    TheMPerson posted: »

Who said it was a fact?? They knew each other for 3 days. And all they did was praise each other, and and that's it. How is that enough to be in a relationship? It's like watching Korra all over again.

  • Like Carlee. Get it? Because Carley gets shot in the face? Kate's face is gonna be more fucked than Carver's.

I hope Telltale realizes almost everybody doesn't like this ship, it's so cringey and out of character for Clementine. At least for the Javier x Kate thing, they stopped forcing it and made it determinate.

  • Btw, did anyone else expect Javier and Clementine to "walk in"(or is that out?) on Gabe and Ava for a second?

Yeah....no substance...after 6 years. So, you're just a prick who judges a stranger's marriage based on a few paragraphs? Good to know.

Hey good for you for managing to pull that off successfully. Doesn't mean it's an excuse for lazy and rushed storytelling. Most relationships don't really work the way yours did assuming you're not a complete liar.

  • I don't mind the ship but I hate forced ships Kate x Javi, Selina x Bruce, and even Rhys x Sasha (even though I ship this one)

  • I still don't understand this ship after they've had more time to interact in this episode. Rather than chat up about Clem's monthly, couldn't we have used that time to maybe have Clem ask Javi a bit about Gabe if we're going the intensional forced romance route? I've actually warmed up to the idea Gabe, but the writing for it's actually worse than Twilight.

  • I didn't want anything bad to happen to her and I hope she's okay. I just didn't like how she acted with Javier and her talking about clem and gabe in a shipping way when she knows nothing about clem and know gabe's a rude and disrespectful douche made me not like her. I definitely would want her to be a survivor though. I don't what telltale is or was thinking with el. I don't hate her but I don't like her now. I was completely uninformed until I watched the entire episode. I like kate again. El not so much.

I think there's a lot of overreaction here. The Kate and Javi romance is completely determinant now. Gabe and Clementine isn't really a surprising element either. They're not in love with each other, Gabe just has a crush on her. I don't think anyone needs to be getting worked up over it being real romance or not. I highly doubt it's getting that far. And there's nothing wrong or "Twilight" about the writing. It's literally just a kid trying to show bravado around his crush and her sympathizing with him. It's treated as a cute little side note because that's all it is.

This is a game with characters that don't belong to us. Inserting snippets of things like a teen's crush is supposed to give a spark of normality to everything. Just like Clementine asking you about what a period is. You can express your distaste, so be content with that. Nothing about this episode suggested that "shipping" was taking over everything. The romance element is a pretty damn minor note and you don't even have to go through with it.

  • I will never let this relationship grow if I can do something about it. This hypocratic, ungrateful, silly, whiny, dumb piece of shit doesnt deserve Clementine. I lost my sympathy for that little prick.

I don't know what kind of answer you want, after everything I typed about it here already, that I want valid reasons on why people want this "ship" to happen? Why do I like to joke and using memes??

I mean seriously, what are you expecting from this?

  • I've accused you of it multiple times and not once have you given a straight answer. Multiple times you've replied with passive aggressive memes or some stupid condescending joke to commens that are even remotely positive about ANF or opinions you seem to disagree with in general. What I want is for you to respect others opinions and not constantly belittle them.

... and you are doing this in a thread that's about negativity in ANF...

  • After playing episode 4, I now sincerely ship Gabentine.

  • Fuck this ship. FUCK THIS SHIP IN PARTICULAR.

  • Not secretly anymore :p

But yeah I ship it too. Loved seeing those two playing cards and just seeing Gabe in general laid back and having a good time.

The shipping was pathetic and really dragged the ep down along with Gabe. Gabe being involved in certain shipping scenes is like double dragging it down. Having said that, even I was a little tempted by dat ass at this point when Kate continued flirting, but there are lines you don't cross and your brothers wife is crossing the line.

Apart from that the style of the game seems to have improved a lot. Ending scenes were really good as well.

  • The amount of shipping and the focus on the numerous relationships is one of the very few complaints I have with this episode, mainly because, in all of the cases, they have not been handled well at all. Tripp and Eleanor is completely one sided, and Tripp honestly chooses the worst time to lay out his feelings towards Eleanor as their are more important things to worry about. It was stated that they kind of, sort of used to be thing, but yet Tripp acts like he is in love with her, and if their relationship was more than what these characters have let on, it would have been nice if the game actually showed that to be the case, or at least why Tripp likes Eleanor, or have Eleanor reciprocate his feelings in some way.

Gabe and Clem, much like Tripp and Eleanor, is completely one sided. But to go along with that, with the amount of shit Gabe pulled in this episode, there's no way in hell he deserves Clem. Not only that, but it feels like a complete 180 from the Clem I had made from the previous seasons. While I wanted my Clem to not stop caring about the people around her, I wanted her to be focused on survival, so forgive me for thinking that this "romance" between them is out of character for Clementine. Why can't they just be friends, that I'd be completely fine with, and I could understand it. I thought we were going to get that with Sarah, and to an extent, we did, but because of her poor treatment, we never got to see Clem really connect with a person close to her age. We had that opportunity with Gabe, but Telltale immediately decided to go right down the love interest route with him. It would have been better and way more interesting to see these two develop an actual friendship, have Clem teach Gabe how to start making tough decisions and not act like a spoiled, bratty, hypocritical asshole.

And Javi and Kate, boy oh boy. I can't say I hate this one as much as Clem and Gabe, but so much more time has been focused on this and, I have to say, it has not been handled well. Regardless of how disastrous their Kate and David's marriage was, it still does not excuse her from making moves on Javi. And while I have politely tried to ignore these advances whenever they presented itself, Kate just didn't get it. Even when I flat out told her that I don't feel that way, she was still insisting that there was something there. At least with Rhys and Sasha (who I know people have compared this to), most of their moments were just between the two of them, and even in those situations, the game still gives you choices to reject it. With Kate and Javi, even when I try to reject, the game has them act like they have feelings towards one another right in front of others, causing everyone, like Tripp and Eleanor, to think there was something going on, giving the game another opportunity to force it down our throats. And I think that's what pissed me off the most about it.

  • The writers really hate us don't they? Gabe was literally cancer this episode and they not only pair him up with Clem, she actually goes for it.
