So how does everyone feel about the future of this series?

With a lot of people feeling like this season has been really bad (and season 2 worse than season 1 was) how does everyone feel about the future of this series (if there is a future as I don't think another season has been announced yet)? Do you think it should continue at all or do you think a reboot with a brand new cast of characters is needed? I'm sure if a season 4 is announced most will play it but are you going to be excited about it at all? I know my enthusiasm for the series has dissipated quite a bit. At the beginning of Ep 1 I couldn't wait to start playing it but now I am very 'meh' about it.

Even the face of the franchise 'Clementine' role in the series seems pointless anylonger. At this point it just seems she will just be going on to the next group of characters in the next game (either by herself or with the few remaining survivors of this game) strictly because she is a sellable character with little to no reason for her even being in the story.

I don't know. How do you all feel about the potential future of the series at this point?

  • I absolutely want it to continue. This season's been fantastic. If I'm at all concerned for the future of the series it's only because people refuse to see how good it is and just blindly hate everything that happens.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm really liking S3 so far (yep, episodes 1 and 2 included lol) with episode 4 definitely being one of my favorite episodes from telltale. That being said, I'm still pretty excited with the series and would prefer if telltale actually continued Javis story for the next season.

  • Yes! It would be such a shame for Javi's story to end so soon.

    I had enough.
In this game clem turnout to be the worst character ever the choices dose not matter with her and she had no character Development
There is no change in her acting based on our choices with her or against her or even as her from s2 or from the flashbacks just end the damn series already TT once and for all you did good for the story of this game and javi but you did nothing good about clem just going with her to downhill the enough is enough

  • Liked S3 Ep1-3, 4 was beyond trash. They really wanted to cap the series in the head with that one it seems. If they release another game, I might watch someone else play Ep1 of the next season to see if its any good, but thats about as far as ill go for now.

For now, it seems like the only hope is for the series to die and start over fresh in a few years.

I'd love for it to continue. After playing episode one and two of ANF, I was really disappointed. But after episodes 3 and 4, I love this series again and am super excited for episode 5. I don't want Javi's story to end so soon. And there needs to be a focus on Clem taking care of AJ for the next season (because neither of them will die)!

  • I think they are going to make a new season, then Javier must stay as the protagonist.

If they want to continue his story, then have Javier become the leader of the remnant of the New Frontier. Have him deal with difficult choices such as being pragmatic and ruthless if he needs to protect his community.

Clementine is a bit difficult. Either have her become a playable character again or don't have her around just so there is more focus on Javier. I love Clementine, but if her presence doesn't serve the story at all, then there is no reason to keep her around.

This is just my thoughts if they decided to make a new season.

  • For the next season, you'd like to see a blending of Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead?

  • It's shaky. New Frontier has been getting better about its twists and fan feedback, but between the franchise and company's history so far, I get the feeling this'll be the last TWD season any fan'll care about, for better or worse. I hope at the very least that Clem survives--considering that Kirkman has the final say and expressed interest in bringing Clem to the comics, I doubt that she'll be killed off in-game.

  • If TT is gonna make a new season I'd appreciate it if they stopped reusing music from the last two seasons because holy shit every time a reused song plays all I can think about is the scene it originates from.

  • This series died for me way back in Season 2. I'm just shambling along with its rotten corpse.

  • In my opinion, Javier's family (except David) and Clem are an awesome team and would continue to do so in the future as well. I also like the bigger scale of the story now, with Jesus introduced and the "Kingdom" being mentioned. Hopefully Telltale continues this direction and we get to see more characters from the comics. Like Michonne? Maybe even Rick and his people? I'd love that.

But most importantly.. please Telltale, start to develop characters over multiple seasons again. It worked well with Kenny and Clementine. Killing off characters left and right is not fun. Neither is it good story-telling. How are we supposed to care about the overall story and your characters if 99% of them die anyway?

It also gets really dull after a while. The "Michonne" mini-series had great new soundtracks, Season Two as well. I don't even remember any soundtrack from the current season except for the main theme that played in every single episode so far.

I was pretty done with this series back when season 2 turned to shit. But I kept going out of habit I will say that e3 and 4 have gone a long way towards bringing me back in. It all depends on how it ends now.

  • As long as we get a DLC about Clem's life after S2, they can do whatever they want for all I care. ANF is non-canon in my eyes.

I am a little weary, though I would still like it to continue. I suppose the finale might help me reflect more on this. I'm hoping that since I've found ANF to be just okay for the most part that it's because they are starting to branch out and that in time, going forward they will be able to do something a little more interesting (hopefully).

It's likely to continue either way so those that really don't like it are probably just not going to buy the next season, or perhaps they will just to shit on it. They have and will lose more fans of the previous seasons but it's still viable for them to go forward.

I honestly do believe now is not the time for it to finish, regardless of what you think of ANF. It's just like any TV show, it has weaker episodes/seasons. Clementine deserves a good ending, I haven't given up on Telltale just yet.

  • It seems to me like you are refusing to see that this season also has alot of issues and blindly loves everything that happens

  • Eh, I find Javier to be a very boring protagonist, and while I hope he sticks around, I hope he becomes an NPC like Clementine is this season

  • It may seem that way but there are a couple things I don't like, though admittedly not much. For example: Eleanor's betrayel. I have no problem with the twist itself the execution just felt a bit off. I thinhk that might be because of how they did the scene. Maybe more of a close up would've helped, I don't know what it was but it just felt odd.

  • I fucking love Javier and I fucking love Clementine, of course. I need more of these 2. I don't even care about who would be the main character, as long as we have both of them.

  • I wasn't really expecting/hoping for episode 4 to be received the way it has, but as bad as ANF started, it seems to have regressed right back after episode 3. I'm still hoping episode 5 has a decent sendoff and Javier dies, but I'm right back at the doubtful outlook. If there's another game featuring Clem, I'll probably look into it but I'm not blindly buying it like I did with ANF, and another adventure with uncle Javi will likely influence me to stay away from it. Overall it's been a disappointment after waiting two years, and considering that amount of time its felt surprisingly rushed and poorly written.

  • What made episode 4 beyond trash for you?

I happened to like it quite a bit and it seems many others did too, and it seems surprising for someone who liked the first three to hate the fourth

  • We can agree on that, the reason I found Eleanors betrayal weird, is the fact that we havent seen her very much in the episodes, and there is no real reason for her to do it, especially for the people that didnt shoot Conrad, it just seemed to come out of nowhere

  • It looks like it's Gabe over for TT's TWD.

I want it to continue but seasons really need more episodes than 5, more episodes mean more character development, which cant be much developed in 5 episodes that last 1:30h.
Now it seems like to me that Gabe is flirting with Clem and they know each other like two days maybe? Its just weird

  • He never flirted with her lol wtf
