The way that choice was implemented was brilliant!
After watching Swingpoynts playthrough I realized how brilliant the way the final choice of episode 4 was implemented. I'm talking about Shooting Joan or taking Clint's deal. Taking the deal is the right choice, no question (at least in my mind) you get to leave this place with your friends and family and no one has to die, it's a good deal. But Joan just killed whoever you tried to save, if you tried to save them than it's likely that you cared about them and are angry about their loss. When Clint proposed the deal Swingpoynts exact reaction was "After you murdered my friend!?" (he tried to save Tripp btw) Taking the deal is the smart thing but Joan just killed whoever you tried to save, there's a good chance that you'd be angry, you'd want revenge and you wouldn't be thinking straight.
Anyway I just thought it was really smart of Telltale to present the choice that way. Do you agree? What are your thoughts?

I shot Joan because I knew she couldn't be trusted, especially after what she just did. It was the safest option for me.
But yeah, that choice was brilliant!
Yeah I enjoyed it, personally I went with the deal because as crazy as Joan was I felt like I could trust Clint to at least get us out of there and then be done with us (yes, maybe that was foolish move) but I just wanted out of Richmond because I knew if we stayed or shot Joan it would lead to more conflict and death.
I'll admit I cheated a little because I knew the trick in the choice, so I "saved" tripp, henceforth I didn't feel that bad when he died, considering he'd been raging and spitting at me over Conrad's death. It's understandable, I just don't like how bipolar he is and how he is your BFF one minute and next minute he'll wish death on you. I don't like Joan but I didn't feel a massive need for revenge after Tripp died, more so I wanted to get Clem and everyone out of harm's way.
But yeah if I went into the choice blind, I know I'd try and save Ava and be pretty pissed at her death and possibly angry enough just to shoot Joan there and then.
It reminds me of the choice with Lilly in S1, because of my anger at her for killing Carley I nearly left her at the side of the road, but I've always tried to play the forgiving survivor (except for the latter half of Season 2, I don't know why) but yeah I'll agree the choice was very well done.
My way of thinking is that you don't deserve to die unless you take another person's life, so after Joan shot in my case Ava, I gave her what she deserved - a bullet in the eye.
What happens if you accept the offer, though?
So, Javier doesn't deserve to live either?
I shot Joan because my plan was to walk up and shoot her in the first place. I think it's a lot cooler having Gabe and Javi rush to save David from the gallows as opposed to David just losing his shit and murdering Clint.
Plus I truly could not stand another episode of having Joan around. She is like a mix between a manipulative mother in law and Hillary Clinton. Clint is much more interesting.
If you accept the deal then out of anger David kills Clint, Joan escapes and a fight breaks out like normal.
I wasn't going to stand there and let Joan stare at us with her smug smile, so I took the opportunity to shoot her in the eye.
If I was all heebie-jeebies and let Joan live, she'd only be digging her own grave deeper. I shot her because it's basic courtesy, life for life.
I took the deal, because I wanted to prevent a bloody shootout - (couldn't know that this idiot David would mess it up that bad and kill Clint who not only freed him, but also was on our side). And I wanted to get Joan eye to eye, not just shoot her quick from the distance.
Clint also dies and Joan gets away if you accept the deal, same outcome happens if you shoot Jaon so it was clearly the best choice to kill Joan.
But at that point Clint has already stepped up, after what Clint said you could hear the crowd being swayed to his side, there is no way Joan would be able to get you killed without losing control over Richmond
By Tornado's logic, everyone deserves to die in this game.
