They made a major error though. Their intention was to have a character you like cause a little friction with you, so you get annoyed at them, but still like them. However, what they've done is made Gabe an unlikable twerp who fucks everyone over at every turn to show how "tough" he is. Predetermined relationships of the characters are irrelevant to how the player feels. Just because Javi "should" like Gabe doesn't mean the player should be expected to think the same, the character has to earn that. They made that easier with Season One as there was no past relationship between Lee and Clementine, meaning the character develops an opinion on Clementine at the same time as Lee. They also made Clem a likable kid. Sure she made mistakes, and was finding her way, but she wasn't being annoying, she was being a child. Meanwhile, Gabe over here is actively burning every bridge that he's got and you're expected to like him? Give me a break.

Gabe manages to get out of his bondage and manages to get a gun and shoots down both the cannibals.He walks away and notices that their is a person still alive with all of his limbs missing. Gabe puts him out of his pain. Still starving and mourning the death of the limbless man, he notices the leg that is still cooking. He sorrowfully grabs the leg out of the flames and sobs while eating the leg.
Hours later, a man in human flesh appears says, " We don't judge, we don't mind" Gabe is hesitated. but notices the herd the is near. The man in flesh suit throws walker guts on Gabe and tells him, " we whisper the dead won't mind" Gabe still shell shocked from the day still, goes through the herd in a dazes.
The next day, Gabe is tested by a woman name Alpha, the leader to see if he is of the "old ways." Gabe is put in with a adult in a pit to fight with clubs and knifes.
Gabe becomes tunnel visioned. And starts swinging crazy with the club. Gabe misses most of the swings. One connects and the man counters with a kick. Gabe on the ground is picked up. As soon as he is head level, Gabe headbutts and quickly puts the knife out and has the man at knife point.
Ready to stab him with the killing blow. someone breaks the fight. The man is then humilated that the fight was broken up and kills the man who broke it up. And that man, is then jumped by the whisper group.
Gabe faints from his injuries. and wakes up in a tent with the head of the man he fought in a flower box as apology and so he can use it as his flesh suit mask.
But Gabe doesn't want to accept, declining the gift. Alpha takes notice that he doesn't accept the gift, therefore their way of life and kicks him out of the community at night.
Gabe walks in the night with both eyes swollen and blur vision. Having flashbacks of life the good times that he had with Javi, conflicts in his mind that isn't the why life is supposed to be. And starting to embrace the idea of not going back to Javi because he can't cope with that "Family life" anymore.
10 months later Season 4 episode 3, Javi goes out hunting for food and stalks a deer that he shot. he gets to the deer and thinks that a walker is eating the deer.Javi hits it with a kick knocking of the mask. But it's Gabe shirtless,wearing a necklece made out of walker fingers, and a mask
I have nothing against Clementine finding somebody she truly loves. But that this somebody has to be Gabe? It just doesn't fit. She is a tru… moree, hardcore survivor and he just a moody, silly crybaby. To that, many people don't even like him (including me). There will always be people that are really overprotective over Clem and don't want her to have any kind of romantic relationship with anyone only because of that, which I can understand. As my little gamer daughter I'm a little protective over her too. But I think Telltale is making a huge mistake by matching him with Clementine. They first should make a good enough, not so annoying character before they choose to make him (or her, whatever she will prefer) a love interest for Clem.
That's what hormones are, though, they make you an asshole. Even clem has been acting edgy this season. So it isn't gabe's fault that he is a teenager, tbh it is the players fault for choosing the options that make him act like a huge asshole.

With all this hate on Gabe I wouldn't be surprised if in the finale we see a moment when we would be able in a manner or an other to let Gabe die but it would be backed with some serious dillema and difficult situation even though we don't like him. Remember that scene when you could abondon Ben but then Clementine comes and tells he's her friend? Back then, i wanted to deal with him for all he has done, he tells the truth to Kenny in a very wrong way just as Gabe in Ep4, but I just couldn't do that to Clem.

I just realized in Ep.4 when the walkers broke through the gate while they were getting the truck, Clementine gives Gabe an annoyed and angry look when he was backing away from the walkers.
I'm okay with Clem being in a relationship with someone, but not with Gabe. He is too much of a fuckboy, and I bet Clem would be annoyed around him. She deserves someone better.
