I absolutely don't understand Mike and Bonnie

  • Bad-writting.

    End of story.

  • Telltale had to get rid the moderate opinions to amp up the conflict between Kenny and Jane. Bad move. They could have done that from episode 3 on and lowered the body count for the entire season.

  • Even though I love Kenny I strongly disliked the fact the game kept making clementine seem close to Kenny even if you made it clear you weren't. They should've made it to where you could stay with Kenny and Jane or leave with Mike and the others.

Made complete sense in my version of the game. I supported Kenny and Kenny's treatment of Arvo the entire time, so of course they'd leave Clem in that case as well. The thing I didn't like was how even when you supported Kenny's actions everyone else acted like you weren't in on it. Everyone's telling me how dangerous Kenny is with no acknowledgement that I've been taking his side on everything.

  • If you're anti Kenny, Bonnie and Mike actually come off as worse, there's really no version where they come out good.

I'm pretty sure that gun was Arvo's anyway, as it's not one of the guns they took from the other Russians and thus likely had it stashed somewhere in the house. Still, Mike would've done better to at least tell Arvo to put it down cause they're not gonna fight Clementine.

They gave him a gun. You don't give people guns who you don't trust.

  • (Also, why the hell would they bring Arvo with them? What was their reasoning there?)

Mike was always concerned about him and the way he was being handled by Kenny, so after Kenny beat him to a pulp and stated that he was gonna leave him behind when they leave in the morning, Mike decided to take him, the truck, and his supplies, with Bonnie tagging along due to Luke being gone.

They didn't take Clem because Clem don't see how bad Kenny's gotten. The problem is that you can take every single opportunity to ag

  • Essentially this. Mike and Bonnie were really popular, at the time with many fans stating they'd rather side with them over Kenny or Luke, so they were written out to further raise the stakes in the Kenny and Jane fight instead.

I guess Mike and Bonnie were just too likable, so Telltale had to resort to bad writing and out of character moments to force that Kenny/Jane choice on us. I'm sure most players would've gone with the Mike and Bonnie we knew from Episode 4.

  • He, or rather "Ralph", was originally gonna be one of the Scavengers that attacked Christa, having gotten his ear damaged due to her causing Victor to accidentally shoot him and getting captured by Carver after his group was mowed down.

Well, how well do you know Mike? Really? Out of all the characters who join you in season 2 he is probably the one you know the least about.

Yeah, it doesn't really make enough sense even with extra context and fun facts about the characters.

Quite frankly, Mike and Bonnie were really popular at the time--too popular, as many fans said they'd rather go with them instead of moody asshole Kenny or suddenly selfish Luke. So, to around this, they tapped into Mike's weakness regarding kids by having Kenny constantly push Arvo around, eventually causing the former Scavenger to set him free, grab some supplies, and he would've taken off in the truck had Clementine not shown up when she did. Bonnie's reasoning basically amounts to losing her recently revealed crush Luke, determinately being mad at Clementine for not trying to stop it, and leaving with Mike either way because those two were just a duo after the escape from Howe's. Having them be implied to be taking all of the supplies(which is really only a thing if Bonnie is there, oddly enough), leaving AJ behind to potentially starve, and having Arvo shoot Clementine regardless of your choices regarding him was clearly meant to keep you from sympathizing with any of them anymore and be more likely to side with(or against) Kenny by default.

  • Oh, you know what, I didn't even notice that. I just assumed it was a new user.
