What kind of characters would you like to see in season 4?

Since everyone is complaining about the detachment to the characters this season and pretty much want everyone except Clem to die, I was wondering what type of characters do YOU want to see next season?
I would suggest for telltale to stay away from making "2.0" type characters just for fan service. This is why I think Javi works as a character for this season. He isn't just a copy/paste Lee in my opinion.
Personally, I think it would be cool to see a bad ass old man as a survivor. We mostly get young adults or middle aged adults. The only old person I remember was Vernon but I wouldn't consider him a bad ass. I would say maybe add more children like Mari but I feel at this point children are overused as catalysts for trouble. Anyways, I am interested in hearing some ideas!

I know Telltales TWD series follows Clementine and I doubt we're leaving her but man I really want a new setting more than anything else.

If Gabe lives I want to see some SIGNIFICANT improvement by that point. Decent Humor, Bad Assery, Independence from David, etc.

  • The developed kind.

  • Well, explain. What in your opinion screams development?

Characters we get to know better. We need more hubs to interact with these characters in the future. Like, what's tripp, Ava, Conrad, and Eleanor's stories, ya know? If not more hubs, then longer episodes. I just want to feel like I know the characters so I can feel attached to them and care about them. I didn't feel too bad when Tripp died in my playthrough, and wouldn't have felt bad if Ava died either.

And what the heck is Joan's story? Why is the villain so random and out of nowhere? How is she running the show when there's supposed to be a council? What has happened to her to make her the way that she is? Idk man, I just need more than what I'm getting. I want to feel it in my soul when a character I like dies, or feel good as hell when a character like badger gets what's coming to them.

  • As long as David, javi, Kate, aj and Clem are still alive idgaf

  • Yes I agree too that the setting for S3 is awful.

  • Hopefully if i had my wish there wouldn't be a season 4 after how terrible this game has been

  • Characters changing throughout the season, that react differently depending on how the player affects them, and the illusion of choice is less visible.

  • I would really love to see Clementine as the protagonist again, but if she wouldnt be the protagonist I would like to play as a woman of some kind, kinda like Michonne, but not Michonne, would love to see some badass old dude, badass old dudes is one of my favorite character tropes

But most of all I would just love for the series to be more grounded again, season 1 was all about survival, but A New Frontier feels more like an action movie, rather than a Walking Dead game

    Also, please no more timeskips

The Gabe / Clem thing would also feel alot less forced if they used another season to flesh out his character and for them to get to know each other better, I would also feel alot more inclined to give him a chance if I was playing as Clementine, since right now I feel like the overprotective dad, (although atm I really dont think they fit together)

  • I'm just sick of Woods which is all we've had since season 2, I mean ANF has the settlement but it's still next to the woods. Give me a huge city, or a different country, hell bullshit a reason for Clem to be in Mexico or something.

In S1 we had loads of different settings which led the way for many different events, we had Clems house, Hershels farm, the drug store, St Johns Dairy farm, the motel, the train, Savannah, and Crawford.

In S2 we just had the woods, Carvers camp, then more woods but with snow this time.

S3 so far just has post apocalyptic shitty ruins with a boring dark graphics engine which makes everything look like they're on Mars or something.

  • Same, though I'd rather he be put on a bus while undergoing his improvement.

I want a cast that has a varied group of allies and/or diverse cast of enemies that are developed as much as possible alongside the settings they inhabit. These are some things I'd like to see/notsee with previous examples/nonexamples:

    • Whatever the opposite of redneck is. In fact, let's get less country characters in general.(Kenny, Luke)
    • Australian/Eurasian/whatever accent(Katjaa, Carlos)
    • Ex-army enlister(Lily,Mark)
    • Friendly elder (Larry, Vernon)
    • Middle class employee(Jolene)
    • Hobo(Chuck)
    • Good settlement leader(Oberson,Carver)
    • Escaped prisoner(Vince, Danny)
    • Developed drug addict/prescription user(Bonnie,Natasha)
    • Evil/Nebulous child/teen(Becca,Sarah)
    • Good/Affable bandit(Nate, Michelle)
    • Lesbian/Bi-sexual(Walter, Matthew)
    • Less evil russian or other immigrant race(Reggie, Buricko)
    • Mixed/Adoptive Family(Randy, Gill)
    • A friendly doctor character who plays a role in the story would be nice.(Katjaa, Vernon, Carlos)
    • Maybe a farmer or farmhand to tie into the slaughterhouse section.(Ben, Andy)
    • A positively portrayed/treated boy character(Ben, Arvo, Gabe)
    • A personal rival/antagonist for Clementine and/or the main cast period.(Michelle, Arvo, Badger)
    • A sick character who does their best to help out in spite of (Ex.Larry,Brie, Rebecca?,Natasha)
    • A Big Bad that's actually overarching, not a total caricature, and antagonistic.(Stranger, Carver, Arvo, )
    • A fat chick who would work out.(Katjaa,Brie,Taavia)
    • A couple that is mutually important(Alvin,Omid, Patricia)
    • A tween character who has been surviving on their own(Clementine, Fivel, Gil)
    • A homeless/hobo character whose life has changed since the apocalypse began.(Chuck)
    • A crazy awesome character that's on the good side. (Jolene, Nate, Vitali)
    • Another one scene wonder character (Molly, Michelle, Edith)
    • A black villain.(Taavia, Michelle,Ava)
    • Another Lilly-type character instead of a Kenny (Kenny, Nate?, Sarah).
    • Badass archetype that's actually legitimately likable and sympathetic (Ex. Michonne, Molly, Jane).
    • A mother/brother and child duo.(Ex. Kenny and Duck, Shel and Becca, Carlos and Sarah)
    • A childless mother.(Ex.Jolene,Vernon,Kenny)
  • I don't want a season four unless Clem is involved. She could be with Javi or AJ or whoever, but I don't want a season 4 unless there's a real story to it. I don't feel like this season has really built up to the same momentum as the others and I'm not expecting it to get better from here on out.

A girl around 14-15 who started the apocalypse as the sweetest most precious little girl ever, and has learned to survive in this harsh new world. Becoming a hardened survivor who takes no shit but at her core is still the most precious person in the world. She should be of mixed races and wear a Baseball cap. Also has a thing for boys with stupid faces who wear stupid beanies and have stupid voices.

  • That's the idea.

  • Most of that is copied from a thread from the "Season 3" hype.

  • Why are we skipping ahead to season 4? What about Season 3?

  • . Maybe build a better more bad ass teenage character. One the community can relate too and get way more attached too then gabe.

  • what if she meets lilly because if in s1 you leave her and if you keep her in the rv most likely shes gonna live both ways because through out s1 she only thought about survival so what if she lives and she finds clem with aj and is just suprised than thats when it gets emotional becuase lilly will most likely ask about the groups before clem

  • sounds made up.

  • Not Gabe, not Gabe, not Gabe, and...NOT GABE!

  • Characters that are well written and developed with depth and uniqueness.

  • With only one episode left, season three's basically done. There's not really much else they can add to the story. Might as well get a jump-start on what we'd like to see in the next season to help the time go by and give the developers some feedback (provided they're listening).

  • A married couple that doesn't have children and relationship actually last during the apocalypse.
Every married couple so far has had children and a failed relationship...Katjaa killed herself, Rebecca cheated on Alvin and may or may not have had a baby that wasn't his, Kate wants nothing to do with David, and...well the stranger and his wife kind of stayed together, but they had kids.

  • That wouldn't necessarily always be the case.

  • Season 4? We aren't even in Season 3.

  • You know what would be weird: a good walker. One that's on the heroes side, helps them discern when there are other people or walkers in the area, and protects them from their enemies.(Ex. Mark, Bennett, Nick)

  • Do you mean one that chooses to not attack the group and helps them? That would be cool and weird.

Otherwise, you stated some examples, but you also have Michonne and her trick, The Governor's trick, The Sanctuary's walls, Crawford's walls and Jane's trick (which is very similar to Michonne's.)

  • Yes. I want to see the return of a cityscape. I want to see hordes of walkers in the streets, large skyscrapers, and a crazy maze of blocked paths.
