Is Javi's strength unrealistic?

  • Also, don't forget that he can also take a gunshot by the stranger and still win him with one arm. I personally think that Lee is stronger than Javier.

  • "Put some muscle into it"

"use your muscle" Or whatever like that

  • That armored truck was nothing for Javi. Got cut by a knife? Bring it on, Javi can push it and fight off zombies and AND put up with Gabe's bullshit. Macho man at his finest.

  • No shit he is lee is the best fighter in the walking dead after jesus

Think it was said Larry actually had a lot of muscle.

  • I think the instances of Javier's strength in Ep4 were addressing fans not content with how his character required assistance far too often in previous episodes. With the training in his career, Javier would have a great deal of upper body strength to be capable of being a batter of note, and running the bases would require more than average bursts of speed for certain.

Even if these instances may appear a bit over the top, they're not really inaccurate. Being stabbed feels like you've been punched. You don't feel pain right away. You feel force - impact. Most don't even realize they've been stabbed until they see blood, and the pain can take a couple of minutes to kick in. Depending on the amount of muscular damage caused by the entry wound, he could still use the arm so long as the tendons weren't ripped or severed.

  • Are we really asking for realism in ANF?

  • I've been asking myself the same thing since anf's release, shame we will never get an answer. So as a head canon, I like to believe that the tree was just about to fall over after some damage that nature did to it so clem just gave it a good hard pushed until it fell.

Tell that to that 90 year old tree she hulk kicked onto the road. I never saw an axe or chainsaw. Even if there was it'd be so impractical that it's comical.

  • The walking dead in general is unrealistic.

  • To be fair, Tripp kinda walked into that and Ava could've been combining her strength with actual experience on how to fight someone and knock the unsuspecting(read:stupid) oaf down in one wellaimed hit.

    MrJava posted: »

Yeah it was bullshit. Tripp is weigh like twice than Ava and she is able to knock him out with a single punch. How much strong she is, it doesnt seem possible for her size.

  • I didn't think the stranger looked much weaker than Lee...about the same.

Considering he was meant to resemble an emotional-drained version of Lee and apparently uses the same basic model, that's to be expected.

Lee would be very weak from so much walking and blood loss and fighting through a herd to fend off the stranger who had nothing happen to him. I didn't think the stranger looked much weaker than Lee...about the same. Lee wasn't really buff armed.

  • Why those two specifically? If anything, she's related to Mike and Michonne.

What about Ava? Tripp went down from one punch and she is half the size of him! I think secretly Ava is the love child of Molly and Jane. They grow up so fast in the apocalypse...

Yeah you know what they do share that model. Like Tavia and Brenda St. John share the same model. I felt like the stranger was just a Caucasian Lee. Wonder who shares Kenny's model.

He's a fucking baseball player(because Hispanics love them some baseball). That's like Tiger Woods being a martial arts master. He's not built like a football or even a hockey player. Get that shit outta here. Javito was built like a baseball player 4 years before the game started. He either hasn't had the means to maintain that strength, or the writers are too terrible to account for the time lost. Either way, its just a no.

Javi's a professional athlete with ripped abs. He's at the top 5 percent of physical fitness comparative to the common person. He should eas

What tree from season 1? I don't remember.

Only way I could see her maybe bringing it down quickly and right on cue with the truck would maybe be explosives sort of buried beneath it where the roots are. But where did she get explosives? That tree was a pretty good sized tree.

There ought to be a DLC showing Clem taking lumbar Jack lessons from Tripp.

  • It was when Ben's teacher got stuck in the bear trap, Lee had the option to try and cut down the tree it was chained to.

  • I can remember one instance of his strength was being able to fight off Eli even though he took him by surprise. Javi probably one of the strongest survivors introduced in the series. I would hope he doesn't die in a dumb way since he has proven to be a good survivor

Clem is absurdly physically strong whenever the plot calls for it. Even without all of her crazy moments in Season 2, she managed to drag Lee's unconscious body for dozens of feet (presumably) in S1E5.

Clem is badass but that doesn't mean she is physically strong. All of her badassness is at the end of a gun. Still pretty cool if you ask me

  • He is an athlete hell, maybe he is a PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE...so he pretty much is strong.

  • I think it makes sense for him to be strong. He is an athlete after all. Also when did you get hit with a wrench? I don't remember that happening.

  • During the fight with Badger.

  • Maybe Lee is secretly a master of "un-armed" combat. Get it? ...I'll see myself out.

  • Lee was probably smarter and a better fighter but strength compared to Javi I don't know, could be about equal. It does take some serious arm strength to be a pro baseball player. Not sure if Javi was a pitcher or not but I've heard baseball players can throw fast balls up to 95mph!

I mean I do like Lee a ton better than Javier but I can't say he was likely stronger. Javi also pushed a armored truck with the help of two kids so most of the weight he had to bear. Then he can knock down a telephone pole electrical box by throwing a rock at it. Which ties in to that fast ball arm strength theory so I don't know really.

  • I rewatched the scene and I honestly didn't notice at first haha. But seeing this now, he should have realistically been knocked out. The force of that hit should have even broken his nose or something.

I dont like the odds are of that but it is a low probability that Javi will die in finale I think. Lee was strong as well but look how he ended up.

  • Besides his baseball background? Well imagine what going consistently to the gym for years would do to you. Imagine the amount of strength and fitness you'd attain from it. This is perhaps sort of what happened with Javi in the Apocalypse as he and his family were on the road constantly and likely he was the one doing most of the bulk of the physical stuff. This would make him further all the more likely to be stronger than people who spent the apocalypse in bigger groups, and even more so in comparison to those in wall protected communities.

  • Yeah, I am hoping he won't die. But that is a good point. Lee was a very strong survivor. However, his death did make a huge impact story wise so I can still forgive Telltale for that.

Lee choked the stranger with one arm, while he was bitten so he would have been extremely weak and sick, and determinantly killed him like that. So I have a feeling ppl are just picking on anf for the sake of being anf.
