I, for one, am enjoying The Walking Dead: A New Frontier.

  • Sarah is your friend or not but there's not much difference there.

More like she tries to be friendly and/or cordial, but your actions toward her will eventually add up and change her mood and/or opinion of you during certain little moments. The main problem is that she doesn't get a big scene/moment for all of that to truly pay off in a noteworthy way.

I suppose so. I think what I meant more was that whilst the technical changes should be there, the impact of the choice should ultimately come down to emotions. I could have made that a little more clear. I guess we just have different ideas of what's more impactful. I don't want to change your opinion on that.

Although, I don't see how Tripp's personality changes can negate the whole choice for you. Whilst I absolutely agree that he seems to flip-flop, is all over the place and is just overall pretty badly written, his personality changes at least evolve over time and don't just come out of nowhere.

Ep 1: Meets Javi and is distrusting -> Ep 2-3: Grows to Like Javi more -> Ep 4: Continues being friendly/hates him after finding out what he had done.

I don't really see how that's just another one of "Tripp's wacky mood changes!" It actually makes sense and will probably carry over if he's still alive. (Although, I won't bet on it, this is Telltale after all.)

Isn't it exactly what you're blaming me for? You care more about "technical/mechanical" things to show difference of your choices, but emoti

  • True. Sarah's early death is really the reason why the choice to be her friend or not ultimately becomes meaningless. Maybe she could have saved your life if you were friends and you taught her how to use a gun. Or even if you refused to show her how to use a gun, she could still call out for someone to help if you were friends. Yet another character with potential that Telltale threw away.

  • Obviously my own opinion, but pacing and choices were much better handled than the premiere as well as character interactions, action sequences, the main message of family, flashbacks, and Clem's involvement. Hate it all you want, but I really enjoyed the last 3 episodes just as much as previous seasons.

  • Hey everyone. I'm back! And I must say that after playing the finale I still stand by my original thoughts. This season was enjoyable for me. The ending was very emotional and we actually got multiple characters that's survived besides Clementine. That's a big plus for me!

  • I can agree Javier is extremely attractive, and this is coming from someone who isn't even into guys. XD

  • I think Javi is a great character and I honestly prefer to play as him rather than Clem. I might be in the minority there but it just flows better story wise. There is only so much you can do with a 13 year old petite girl that's within the realm of possibility.

As for season 4, I would really like him to come back and rebuild Richmond but at the same time he is one of the few people who got a happy ending and I would hate to ruin that for him :/

I saw another thread about him maybe leading a community and I think that would be a good thing for next season. Maybe like a 50/50 split between Javi and Clem. How about you? Did you like playing as Javi?

  • I loved Javi. I honestly enjoyed playing as him more than Clementine as well.

And I would love to see a 50/50 split, if done right, like in TFTBL.

  • I'm glad to see others who support playing as Javi! And I never played TFTBL but if it's anything like GOT then I'm sure it can work. Let's just hope someone from Telltale is reading this :D

I just hope he just shows up in season 4 if anything, I loved the bond between him and Clementine, despite them only knowing each other a few days.

  • Agreed! He definitely deserves more time to shine. Let's hope it happens!

  • i completely agree with you on this! dare i say, it's been my favorite season so far, but s1 is a close second. i feel i personally enjoy it more is bc i relate much more to javi and his family (me being hispanic makes me feel more connected to them and i'm happy there's finally some hispanic rep), and i love the strong family theme! javi is also just a very likeable character as i enjoyed his cool personality and his lightheartedness in such a shitty time like the apocalypse. this season i also seemed to care about the characters more than in s2 as i felt annoyed by them all or just didn't care for them. i also liked how the choices mattered so much more, that i'm actually going to be replaying this game a few times to really see different outcomes. but yes, i completely agree with you on enjoying the season, it makes me hope playing as javi isn't completely over in the next dlc(s) and season(s).
