Never truly hated him to begin with. Honestly, his inconsistent characterization is more realistic than people realize. Teenagers who are just hitting puberty tend to act like that. (Admit it, you were probably like Gabe once, wanting to criticize your guardian figures for any perceived flaw whatsoever, though clearly still loving them regardless.)
Like how he's taking steps to head in a better direction, though.
I still don't like him. Seeing him on his way out was awkward. The card thing definitely cringe. The asking for a second hug also cringe. Him wanting to shoot himself doesn't do anything for me or his character imo. It just seemed like a means to make him seem tough when it didn't matter at that point and I can't get over the fact that Marianna got such bad treatment whereas gabe's passing had more effort put into it. I'm glad that if I get the game I have the option to get rid of him for good.
No, for me he redeemed himself in Ep5 even though he lost his life in the process. Back when I didn't like Gabe I never truly hated him enough for me to want him to die. His death for sure struck me hard. People hated him because of being a human and for him liking Clementine. While I personal don't condone "Gabentine" it was really up to Clementine. Whatever makes her happy I would go along with
No, it's really not realistic at all in the way you think it is; it's just inconsistent for the sake of making Gabe tolerable given how much hate he was getting in Ep.4.

I can see past all the sloppy writing.
Yep. I don't think he really did prove himself. Sure, having himself pull the trigger at the end is a brave move, I'll give him that, but fr… moreom my perspective, he really didn't do anything to earn being a man. Hell, he didn't really do anything to earn an emotional death. No tears were shed, no fucks were given on my part, I was more than happy to see him bite the big one.
Clem, I'm dying... Quick, take my cards which are literally everything that is left of me, remember when we shared that one moment together … morewhen we played cards for like 30 seconds? Seriously, he could've told her anything else than that, it felt forced and totally ruined it for me. He had a goddamn crush on her, he could've told her that or something, say something she would remember.
Who thinks about playing cards when dying? It's weird enough he even had them in his pocket, I wonder if he had spare bullets instead he wouldn't have died.
How was it awkward seeing someone dying???? It should be sad, also how was the card thing cringe? Gabe just wanted Clem to remember him it was sweet in my opinion don't see how that's cringy and I don't know why asking for a second hug was cringy too. Also it should tell you something about his character he redeemed himself in Episode 5 and he gets bit and asks Javi to give him the gun and he goes out with a bang....

There's literally nothing complex about it because Gabe isn't even the same character like he is in Ep.4. His entire baggage out of nowhere changes for the sake of making him tolerable and it's inconsistent.
Clearly, you're blind to your own ignorance of what complex and realistic actually means.

I feel like its hard to judge, since his character seems really inconsistent, but as someone who has hated Gabe for the entire season, and h… moread only Gabe survive, I am satisfied, David had a nice emotional death scene, where he finally became the father he wanted to be, and Kate died offscreen but I dont give a single fuck about Kate, Gabe was actually enjoyable this episode, for the first time ever
Wow, one thing. That totally makes up for pouring peroxide in Kate's wound, pointing a gun at Conrad, ratting me out for Conrad's death, and getting Javi stabbed. Great maturity throughout the series.
EDIT: I got to stop making comments on my phone, the auto correct keeps screwing everything up. Javi got changed to Jack somehow.
He gets himself and his dad killed if you don't go after them so while I don't hate him I can't ignore that he continues to make stupid choices. At least he tries. Ben and Sarah were too scared.
I also heard it and it was crap. Theres no way known to humankind to explain euchre's rules in such a short period of time. It was very forced and cheap, like everything this season.
Please. People change all the time. Sometimes in ways that don't make sense. Reality is unrealistic and all that jazz.
Teenagers are inde… moreed the biggest standout. Going through puberty and struggling with growing independence.
I've had some... interesting experiences when I was in middle school.

Did Gabe die in yours?
Yes, I shot Conrad.
Clem said she'd go after whoever I didn't help. I went to help Kate while she saved Gabe, David dies though.
Oh, ok. Thanks!
Yes, Clem said she was going with Kate to Richmond and I chose to do the same thing.
Oh, thank god I chose Kenny then, this is even more reason to pick him over Jane lol.
No fuck gabe

Yup because we don't have to see his face anymore( i think... ). But I didn't hate him after he finally do what Clementine do( Gabe shoot David ).

Bad writing? Yeah right.
Clearly, you are blind to how complex humans really are. We are full of contradictions.

Yes

Now that is the ultimate reason to not chose jane screw jane I don't like her any more she can go hang her self.

Also don't hate Gabe because Clem kissed him Clem likes Gabe respect her wishes.... :P
._.
What a straightforward answer. I love it
Gabe died in mine but they didn't kiss. I would've been triggered directly into oblivion
Hell yes, Telltale will never trick me with their shitty writing and guilt tripping.

Teenagers are indeed the biggest standout. Going through puberty and struggling with growing independence.

do you have a link to the death scene? in both my playthroughs where David died, he died offhandedly with little to no mention

I love that little bastard. Plus he remindes me of the youngest of my eight cats (my cats remind me of every character in AFN actually).
He gets himself and his dad killed if you don't go after them so while I don't hate him I can't ignore that he continues to make stupid choices. At least he tries. Ben and Sarah were too scared.
Havent looked this video through, but I think its here:
Depending on how much of the scene you want to see, Javi fights a bunch of walkers before this, but its pretty boring
How did he redeem himself?
Good to hear it
For me he didn't
he just improves overall in the episode with his behavior, helps the group, and puts down david if david dies.
I also heard it and it was crap. Theres no way known to humankind to explain euchre's rules in such a short period of time. It was very forced and cheap, like everything this season.
holy shit, what are you cat lady? XD
So, you're saying Gabe is just a one note schizophrenic crazy person?
That's not compelling or very smartly written in the world of fiction.
IF telltale did anything 100% right about gabe it was his death scene.....damn I'm guna have a hard time forgetting it
I think he was most likeable and enjoyable in EP5 which I contribute to improved writing and development of Gabe.
