Where did Conrad go in EP5?

Conrad is alive in my playthrough and he was right there with Javier at the end of EP4 yet he's gone completely until the very end of the episode. Did telltale not feel like actually implementing him into the story or do you think he went off to do something else?

  • He is at the end of the episode after saving Richmond, just chilling and reading a book give by Francine.

  • He is there in the ending of episode 5 reading a book about skipping death.

  • I'm guessing they wanted him to live but didn't really want to implement him into the episode. His scene was a decent farewell to him and he had some great moments in ep3 and 4 so I was ok with it, I'm just happy my favorite character made it.

  • The OP says that they know he's in the end, he just hardly appears otherwise

Their budget and time likely couldn't justify having a lot of Conrad voiced and animated since a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the players have them in their game at this point, plus most of the episode revolves around the core family members (+ Clem, who's alive for every player). I thought his little scene at the end was a sweet little moment and nice capper to defying the odds.

  • And yeah, Conrad was off doing his own thing, probably helping others.

  • That is why telltale shouldn't have so many determinant characters since they can't keep up with them or keep them in the story. I did like the end scene with Conrad which I thought was fitting.

  • And yet they had both budget and time to animate and record a prolonged Javier death scene even though it still ends in Game Over.

Come on, time and budget wasn't a factor. Telltale plays loose with deadlines whenever they feel like.

  • Yeah it would have been awesome to have a conrad save javier scene like in episode 3 and 4 .

  • I honestly thought he'd join the group, possibly speak with Tripp if he was found, survive the car walker, survive the helicopter since he is skinnier so he goes before Javier, and can have his determinate death when Clem mentions Conrad's death in the situation he were alive. I wanted him to be all I want to go distract the walkers situation but Javier can choose to go instead to prevent his death

  • I think they should've had him at the beginning of the episode amongst the group and have him choose to stay behind to help Eleanor with the wounded.

  • getting laid probably

  • Would've made more sense than just disappearing for no reason until the end.

  • He is really happy at the end of the ep maybe he found a new Francine

  • There are three possibilities what Conrad was doing while he was not seen.

    1. Helping Eleanor With the wounded.

    2. taking out the rest of remaining (New Frontier) members and some of the walkers from the herd.

    3. Getting people to safety.

  • All things they could've easily shown him doing with a good line or two.

  • he was hiding in Javier's pocket the whole time

  • Yes, they do kinda ignore him He is after all a determinant character. But then again, I really feel like this season and especially this episode didn't do justice to any of the core group. Eleanor kinda disappeared after we met her in this episode and we never saw her again.
