Shooting ****** turned out to be the right choice
Shooting Conrad turned out to be the right choice.
Tripp admits that he has thought it over and that if someone threatened his family, he would shoot them TWICE so that they learned the lesson.
Then he goes on to let bygones be bygones and basically lets himself die so Javi can survive.
So you can either kill the guy who threatens two children at gunpoint and have your actions validated, or you can take Clem hostage and have Conrad reading a book at the end.
Fuck Conrad. You forfeit your life when you threaten someone else's.

Finally someone who doesn't worship that asshole. Everyone thinks he's a god just because he survived the whole season but it doesn't change the fact that he tried to shoot a kid and use another one as a hostage.
Fuck Conrad.
Conrad is our lord and savior, how dare you!
Bluushit! Kenny is my lord and savior!
RACEWARRRRRR!! kidding ofcourse ; )
I kinda hate the expression: "The right choice". What the heck is the right choice, anyway? Isn't that different for everyone?
Anyway, even though I did not shoot him, I have to say that the scene was poorly done anyway...
The scene really made no sense and seeing Conrad through the rest of the season it was extremely out of character for him.
Conrad fell flat as a character and the fact he was willing to throw a 13 yr old to the wolves didn't help. I didn't think too much about it. I would rather Tripp had survived the season.
I was really surprised, but also very happy that Tripp admitted that shooting Conrad was justified. He is way smarter and more likeable than Eleanor, even though I tried to save Ava before. At least Javi and Tripp could settle their conflict of E4, before it was too late.
Still sucks that Telltale wasted so much time with keeping Conrad alive, even though that child-hijacker died for like 80% of the entire playerbase in Episode 2, not counting his other possible deaths. And all other determinant characters got shit on, especially Ava/Tripp and Max.
Conrad was so fucking useless in episode 5. Even keeping determinant characters alive can be a waste of time.
Yeah, Tripp really impressed me when he admitted that Javier was in the right. He was a really great guy and I'm lucky to have known him.
Conrad's triple determinant status kind of pisses me off as well because there were countless other determinant characters that deserved the screentime over him.
The thing is, none of that choices was right. You could either shot a man or threaten a child... Javier should've knocked Conrad out or talked his way outta this. It's always guns blazing in this game.
/signed.
Conrad was immune to talk. But yeah, pretending to agree and then knocking Conrad out with a strike to the back of his head would also be a solution to stop him.
I miss the days in season 1 where we occasionally had [LIE] next to a dialogue option.
I still don't understand why Clementine had to be unnecessary badass and why she couldn't just tell Conrad that she was kicked out of New Frontier.. Hell, she could have just lied and told him that NF threatened to kill her, if she ever came back... But instead we got: "If you wanna shoot me, shoot me!" Smh
Because nowadays it's necessary to have ass-kicking swearing-a-lot teenage survior.
No reasonable person would ever risk a shot in that scenario. It was dark and Conrad was unpredictable, what if he moved the slightest bit and Javi would miss the shot, or worse, hit Gabe? You don't provoke someone on edge by pointing a gun at them, you pretend or negotiate. If Conrad survived that tunnel, he admits himself he acted wrong. He was able to see it there, maybe there would be a way to show him that earlier, if only the game allowed us to talk.
Sure, but then again, the game provides only a black/white choice and I would never let Conrad go away with using children as tools. That's why I shot him and would always do it again.
So much salt for picking the wrong choice. All hail king Conrad
Can't people do what they want and just enjoy it for what it is? This argument can be had in circles. For example: shooting Conrad in the head while Gabe's is right next to it is unnecessarily reckless. Or bringing a child to a group that has shown no qualms with killing children is ridiculously cruel, especially after she saved you.
I shot him too, after I run out of time and everyone died.
To be honest, I was one of the few who agreed to the plan back in November but I still had the contingency plan of letting Conrad be a distraction in case things go totally sideways.
No salt at all. Conrad could be quadruple determinant and I would still shoot him every time because he's a piece of shit. He threatened two kids at gunpoint, one being our nephew and the other being our beloved Clementine and even kills you all if you stay silent. And like I said, Tripp later admits shooting him was the right choice.
That was the problem with the choice back in Part 2: the odds were way stacked against Conrad cause, despite the hypocrisy of most players openly expressing wanting the same things he did anyway, most players had no incentive to agree with him.
Tripp understanding why you did it doesn't make it the right choice.
Killing a guy who was threatening and going to murder you and a child is what makes it the right choice. Having his best friend understand and say he would have done the same is just validation.
Some people suddenly love Conrad because he is the first triple determinant, but he was a straight up monster in those tunnels and his character is all over the place if he survives.
There is no real "right" choice. Whatever you believe to be the right choice is right for you but that doesn't mean other players made the wrong one. If you think killing Conrad is right then good for you but I believe that sparing him is right and no matter what Tripp believes that isn't changing.
That's exactly where the problem therein lies: Siding against Conrad is the obvious "right" choice.
He never tried to shoot a kid what are you on?
He pulls a gun on Clementine and takes Gabe hostage. Then if you stay silent, he executes Gabe and shoots a grieving Javi in the face. What are YOU on?
Talking about what happens in actual canon lol
Back in November? Howd you get the game a month early?
He was troubled, traumatised and scared. Vengeance had blinded his sense of judgement.
Conrad actually turning Clem in to the New Frontier isn't actually as bad as people think it is. I mean Clem has been through worst situations right? She's been kidnapped, stuck in a shed with a walker, and shot through. Yet she survived all of it. So Conrad turning Clem in wasn't the best thing to do but wasn't really that bad as people thought. And ending Conrad's life seems worse in my opinion. And Conrad does regret it later and ends up saving Javi's life. The thing is though, I see more people forgiving Nick and liking him even though he almost shot Clementine in the face and killed Matthew. Everyone is like "I forgive you nick." Conrad threatens to turn Clementine in to the New Frontier and points a gun at Gabe. "OMG Conrad Threatened Clementine! He deserved to die because he threatened to kill someone else!" LOL. Does no one remember how bad Kenny treated Arvo? Conrad is a good person who just made a mistake. Honestly he doesn't deserve death whereas people like Carver, Badger, and Joan do.
B-But he reads a book!
There was no way to know how taking Clem hostage would actually turn out, since all we knew about TNF at this point was that they killed a little girl and raided a peaceful community. The decision is about taking a stand against an out of control guy who was threatening children with a gun, way worse than David ever did.
And you're comparing this to Nick and Arvo? Seriously? In most cases Nick shooting was an accident, and at the bridge he was confused and thought Matthew was holding up Luke and Clem. And yeah, a lot of players didn't forgive him and let him die.
And Arvo ambushed the group with his junkie bandit friends and then pretended not to speak English to buy time until he could escape at the frozen lake. Then he shot Clem. Fuck Arvo, he was obviously hostile and could not be trusted.
I literally cannot believe you just compared Clem/Gabe to Arvo and Conrad to Kenny.
Clementine, Gabe, and Javi were all troubled, traumatised, and scared too. Conrad had no right to threaten all of their lives in order to hand over a little girl as a prisoner of war. Tbh I really liked his character but there was no reasonable way he could be part of the group again after what he did.
Everyone is. They live in a fuqing zombie-apocalypse. It doesn't justify threatening innocept people, especially children, with a gun.
Oh shit, I meant December! I could've sworn the game debuted towards the end of November, though.
I mostly agree, but my only outstanding issue with it is how they had him take Gabe hostage at gunpoint. That was a step too far in an already biased against him choice.
