Let's just be honest for a second, the way Clementine acts in this scene is way out of her character, she can't be in love with a guy she me… moret 2-3 days ago and talk to him like 2-3 times, Gabe having a crush on her make more sense, but no the other way around. Yes, Gabe is inexperienced, rash, angsty, and can be very immature which is usually what I find almost all the anti-gabentine arguments consisting of. But that's the point. It's one of the reasons why this kind of relationship with Clementine would be good for him AND her.

this is the Big problem I started to see with players. Most people think they can customize the characters so they can immerse in the game -… more_-. These games are NOT like other games from other companies. You roleplay as certain character. If you want to know their background, you need to invest time to get to know them.
You can help pick how they are going to react to characters's opinion, thoughts, but we are not them.
I would say, it is like giving an advice to friends, and they follow that advice.
Is it a thing that happens in every playthrough? No, it isn't. So by definition of canon in games, if it doesn't happen every time you play … morethe game and can't be optional or avoidable, then it isn't canon, like Kenny dying in S2 isn't canon or Jane, etc... Lee's death that is canon, because it happens in every playthrough of the game and it can't be avoided. For this to happen you have to save Gabe and then chose the right answer so...besides in this particular scene she didn't say i love Gabe, javi teases her and she fall for it like the child she is, nothing more.
Like i said, it can't be canon if it doesn't happen in every playthrough, i never see it, if Gabe die it never happens so if it doesn't happen every time it can't be canon.

Javier annoys me because he barely reacts uniquely or changes significantly based on player choice.
How do you get the kiss to happen? Gabe died in my playthrough and they didn't kiss. He only gave Clem his deck of cards and told her to teach AJ how to play euchre.
Man now I totally want a scene of these two walking into a bar in a community to conquer guys XD Bonus if one of them is super outgoing and the other one is just like how the fuck do I do this and the first one has to help them... I don't know who would be each one, though.

Yeah you can determine some of his reasoning for his murder, and determine aspects of your past to express to Clementine and others, decide the implications and his reaction to what he did, and what he teaches Clementine via that (not that it matters anymore because Telltale didn't use any of our dozens of Lee choices).
You also have a much larger range of roleplaying with Lee than with Javier, you can determine his personality to a much larger degree, who you build relationships with has more levity and player freedom, so on and so forth.
Except Clementine has dozens of personalities dictated by player choice, all of which is dismissed to make a shallow npc due to laziness on Telltale's part (or whatever freaking reason none of our choices carry over and they decided to make a playable character a predefined npc).
Pretty much all Telltale protagonists have personalities and sexualities of their own. Clem's at least interested in guys and Javi is bi. TftB also clearly tries to set up Rhys and Sasha along with Wolf Among us doing so for Bigby and Snow.
