Do people really have to be this sour on the kiss?
The only reason I'm against Gabentine is because it is undeserving. The season takes place over a few days. Meaning they've really known each other less than a week. Throughout the season, it was apparent that Clem only spoke with Gave just to calm him. She clearly was too mature for him. And Gabe was attracted to Clem because of his hormones. Trying to make a romantic relationship between happen is really just forced at this moment.
Exactly. I'm against Gabentine not because I have some "fatherly" protective feelings for Clem, but because this whole story took place over a few days. Also, episodes 1-4 clearly showed that Clem was not interested in Gabe romantically. The only times she approached him was to calm him when he was angry. In episode 5 they completely changed her character and now she somehow is in love with him. It really is forced just to make the Gabentine fans happy.
The kiss for me wasn't the problem. He was dying, he had a crush on you, it was fine. MY HUGE PROBLEM WAS WHAT CLEMENTINE SAID BEFORE THE KI… moreSS!!!!! Something along the lines of "I always thought i'd be alone... until I met you." WTF???? THEy BARELY KNOW EACH OTHER THaT LINE WAS RIDICULOUs! seriously made no sense
Its not "just a kiss". It's extremely poor writing and it's forced. She basically confesses her love for him before she kisses him in that scene. That really came out of no where and it was just put there to make the fans happy.
Does she actually say that? Are you kidding me? If that's how Telltale is going to write Clementine with romantic feelings, they might as well just keep her celibate.
Agreed. They just over killed it with Gabentine because they made it about eternal love and Clem finding "the one" for her 2 days after meeting the guy. And throughout the season it was so apparent that this was one sided until this episode.
they shouldve just not made gabentine canon, a crush is okay but a cringey clem scene and kiss is too much for them knowing each other for such a short period of time.
Kenny has a more similar personality to Gabe they both selfless, loyal, and care about family but can make some major fuck ups at times. But Jane is literally the opposite mostly only caring about herself and survival so I don' really see why Jane fans would like Gabentine
Jane is literally the opposite mostly only caring about herself and survival
That's why I'm trying to figure out why Jane's ending will have Clem and Gabe kiss knowing Jane taught Clem that her own survival is more important than others.

I tried testing it out myself and my Clem didn't do any of these. She didn't hold his hand, she didn't hug him and she didn't kiss him. I forgot what Clem said (I think it was something like 'This is so wrong' but I'm paraphrasing here). Gabe said something like 'At least I met you didn't I?'. All Clementine did was take his deck of cards.
I'll list down the multiple things that might trigger this to happen.
I shot Conrad (I don't know I'm just making sure)
I had the Wellington ending
I rejected Kate
I didn't support their relationship I said 'I hope it doesn't work' (paraphrasing) Ep4
I mentioned to Gabe that Clem doesn't like David (Ep3)
I stayed silent to Eleanor when she said 'Maybe they'll hit it off' (Ep2)
So I'm really surprised this hasn't happened to anyone yet.
Guys, they made it possible to flirt with Fiona at the end of Borderlands because people wanted it. Why did you expect they wouldn't throw this in if people wanted it? Honestly, it's not that shocking to me.

I read about that, but I'm Rhys x Sasha all day!
Why did you expect they wouldn't throw this in if people wanted it
I wasn't expecting...this though. They knew a majority of fans disliked the Gabentine idea so I guess they said "screw it" and decided to make him determinant.

These are probably the main factors.
I also chose Rhys x Sasha, but that's cause I didn't know Fiona was an option until after I finished. Well, a majority of fans might not like it but they still have a good portion that have created "Gabentine" and wanted it so... I'm not surprised he was determinant. I thought it was going to be Kate VS David in Episode 5, but they all were determinant so... Leave it to TellTale to just say screw it and make it possible for basically everyone to live or die.

I'm sure they had other plans because if you hadn't figured it out, Episode 5 was completely rewritten. The choices that got leaked for episode 5 have nothing to do with the choices now, excluding the choice about running Richmond.
I was hoping for a Kate vs David fight in episode 5 as well, and I was disappointed. I think the only reason why Javi's family is determinant is how you view them. If you don't like Gabe & David but like Kate, save Richmond. Don't like Kate but like Gabe & David, go save them.
It's a way for Telltale to make all the fans happy of their endings.

I'm sure you're right. Honestly, I heard the writing for the entire season was a hot mess. And you're totally right on that, too. Unfortunately, I had a good relationship with Kate and Gabe, but not necessarily David (even though I got the Heartfelt ending with him), so I wanted a different ending than the one I got.
I'm overall just disappointed with the season's choices as a whole. It didn't have close to the impact of Season 1 or 2 and the stretches they made in the plot were just as bad as Season 2, if not worse. I think after Season 4, they need to wrap it up.

Can we save everyone? I guess not, its either Kate or David and Gabe. EDIT Is there any main thread where you guys will talk about this episode and about S4?
Reminds me of a determinant kiss in Tales From the Borderlands. When Fiona can kiss spoliers before he crashes on Pandora, I did that mostly out of pity because he was about to die, not because I shipped them.
Yeah, that honestly bothered more than the fact that she's kissing a turning boy at all. The only way that makes any sense is if you think she was referencing Duck, Sarah, and/or AJ.

Clem going up to gabe seconds before he knows hes going to die and then letting Gabe know that he COULD HAVE been with her is honestly the BIGGEST cuck of the whole episode. Honestly, Javy and kate's david cuckening cracked up up but holy shit, this tops it all.
"hey gabe, ill show you the good time you wont be able to live with because youre aBOUT TO DIE"
Yeah, I realized that as well. Gee, way too to blueball him before he punches his ticket there, Clam.
He's way too inexperienced for her.
Hell, for all we know, it was the other way around. Which is arguably worse for ya'll.

Bahaha
That made this all a little more bearable. Twas merely a pity kiss.
Still way out of fucking character for her though considering less than a week ago (game time) she called kissing "gross" on multiple occasions. He's way too inexperienced for her.

It depends on what you did at the end of Season 2.
Go with Kenny: hug
Alone: hold hands
Go with Jane: kiss

I'm sure Telltale through that in there to make fans happy if you wanted them together.
Yeah, she actually says that. As if they exchanged more than 4 words between each other in a span of a few days.
Agreed. They just over killed it with Gabentine because they made it about eternal love and Clem finding "the one" for her 2 days after meeting the guy. And throughout the season it was so apparent that this was one sided until this episode.
Well, not really a choice seeing how Season 2 endings affect whether you'll get the kiss or not.
Yep and Gabe dies. So she will be kissing other guys in the future.
I'm sure a majority of people who went with Jane wanted Clem & Gabe to hook up.
Why lol it has nothing to do with Gabentine
Just a hunch.

Idk have people tested this do we know for sure it is what causing the differences?
A lot of people on Reddit and Steam forums are confirming it.
Yeah it's probably true then. I guess Telltale just made up random consequences for things.

Another reason why going with Jane is a terrible choice.
Has anyone else got these yet? I haven't seen any play-through with this happening.
Funny how "kissing stuff" is related to Jane.
I guess we have different opinions. Or maybe you're just too Blind... to see how terrible Gabentine really is.
What have I just done?

It happens if you stay with Jane at the end of season 2.
People freaking out or jumping for joy, and I'm just like
I like Javi but the only thing Javi is better than Lee is, cutting Clem's hair...

Yeah.
....
Oh god! Clem, what the fuck ?! He was, like, in a coma and shit!
Hey, at least it was a goodbye kiss instead of Gabe going out with a bang.
Another one anyway.
