So We All Agree? (S4 Ideas)

After reading lots of forums and threads about Season 4, I think we can all agree on the following ideas for Season 4:

  • More Hubs & Freedom

  • Longer Episodes

  • Playable Clem

  • Less Action & More Slower Moments

  • Friend/Partner for Clem (Determinant romantic relationship)

  • Javier Appearence

  • Credit Music

There's probably more things fans want in Season 4. What do you think?

  • I agree with 6 out of the 7. The only one I disagree with is a Javi appearance. I like him, but his story is done and wrapped up nicely.

Plus, I'm sure there are a lot of people who would like to forget this season ever existing, Javi appearing would only remind them.

  • That's true, but the least they can do is Clem just mentioning him a few times.

  • Also, just continue the story where A New Frontier left off, no more timeskips please

  • There won't be a timeskip, it won't be necessary. MAYBE there'll be one after Clem finds AJ, but not during.

  • I'm not sure Javier had a big enough influence on her to be mentioned a few times. Christa had a larger impact, and isn't mentioned in S3. I could see her mentioning Gabe if she ended up having any sort of affection for him ( not that I'm encouraging that can of worms ) but it's realistic. The most likely mentions for Clem would be a Kenny/Jane or Lee mention if anyone at all. All I really ask for S4 is that I don't have to listen to her call AJ Goofball multiple times.

Of course he did, it comes as a result of Main Character Syndrome

  • The only thing I could add to this list is more tough choices. This is what I loved the most about previous Telltale's games. Some of those choices were hauting me for a couple of days and made me wonder if one or other was the right decision. In ANF a vast majority of those choices were really one-sided and the psychological drama which worked extremely good in Season 1 was almost absent in this season and this, for me, was one of the biggest disappointment in New Frontier.

  • I disagree on this personally. His season is half of a regular season and a good chunk of it was focused on clem.

He needs the development time. Plus people dont normally hate Javier, just the plot and lack of Clem being the protag.

  • Friend/Partner for Clem (Determinant romantic relationship)

I agree on Clem having a sidekick like Javier, but have people been suggesting she have a romantic partner? I've been hearing the opposite.

Not that I would mind if she or Javier got one.

  • but have people been suggesting she have a romantic partner

It's a mixed bag. Some say she should but have it be determinant while others don't but want her to have a friend during Season 4, specifically someone her own age.

Not that I would mind if she or Javier got one.

Uh...ain't that pedophilia on Javi's behalf?

  • I'm all for a non-romantic partner to share the limelight with Clementine. Following S3's handling of romantic options, however, I'd much rather take a season off of having that as an option for a main character. I'd much rather have a non-romantic relationship that can survive an entire season, and focus on a developing bond between two people that is fluid and believable.

These romantic arcs left no room to finish the main story elements of S3 ( there's no appearance of Joan/Clint in E5 and you don't find or even search for AJ until the very end of the episode. )

  • I don't mind if its option in 3 ways.

Lets say Clem or Javi has 2 people they can either:
    1. hate
    2. be friends with
    3. be romantic with

you can choose to be friends with both, hate both, or be romantic with one (or both and cause drama, lol)

i think that would be fun. for a while I thought both Gabe and Ava were gonna be romancable to clem but they didnt go that route (plus ava's age would make it weird)

S3's handling of it was poorly because there was so many romantic relationships and not to mention cringy and rushed writing. At least for S4, they can only focus on one which is Clem and her new partner if you want them to be together.

  • so many romantic relationships

I agree on the rushed writing but, what romantic relationships? You can only romance Kate.

Unless you mean that one line of flirt dialogue Javier uses on both Eleanor and Jesus. Or that rare Gabetine kiss scene?

    -Tripp & Eleanor
    -maybe Clem & Gabe
    -Kate & David

  • Maybe a Javier cameo would be cool, like at the end. Or Clem is at the end of her rope and Javier and his men save her just in time. I seriously don't think Clementine needs a romantic interest, Gabe was pushing it but I guess it's fine in that case. A companion like Sarah would be interesting but I don't think it's necessary to go further than that.

  • No more javi please, it should be about clem I should be all about clem, I don't want to see any garcia any more I had enough of that crazy family.

  • There were multiple relationships, however only one was fleshed out - which would place us in the same position for a S4 romance. Please don't mistake this as I'm against romantic relationships or any and all romantic relationships for Clementine. I just think that we would benefit from establishing a partner that would survive multiple seasons prior to a romantic arc if there is one to pursue with them.

  • I don't think really any of the seasons had hard choices; Season 2's only really hard one was Shooting Kenny and the aftermath of going to Wellington or going with Kenny.

Season 1 only had the Carley/Doug choice that was very hard, the rest weren't really difficult.

  • Don't agree with 3, 5 and 6. Everything else is perfectly fine.
