Who was your favourite character to play as in TWD: Lee, 400 Days crew, Clem, Michonne or Javi?

Each character presented a unique viewpoint and motivation for the ZA. Who have you enjoyed playing the most and why?

    Javier, no question.

He was such a likable dude, and his one-liners were fucking hilarious. I'd love to have him as an uncle and play baseball with him. Javi was like a better written Luke, in my opinion.

EDIT: Before y'all come with the pitchforks, Lee will always be the OG, no question. I take back my statement that Javi is better than Lee, but I still fucking love Javi to death. And Jeff Schine did a spectacular job playing him.

I enjoyed playing as clem the most, I thought it was cool how you were able to have direct control over her especially after playing season 1. Plus playing as a little girl was pretty different from most games and it was a unique experience.

  • Tavia for sure

  • I know it's offtopic, but just out of curiosity... why do you think Javi is a more well written character than Luke?

  • Luke didn't really have the edge he needed to survive. I know that's kinda a dumb reason, but he was unwilling to get his hands dirty, and he was well written, but not as good as Javi.

Also I kinda feel like Luke didn't have enough development in episodes four and five.

  • Clementine, now, I can readily admit, that Season 1 is better than season 2 in a lot of ways, but the perspective that playing Clementine gave you on the apocalypse was something that I enjoyed greatly, and was more enjoyable for me than playing a grown ass man

  • Definetely Lee.

Javi is a very likeable guy but that's about it for me personally.

I love Clementine but I didn't enjoy playing as a little girl THAT GIVES GROWN FUCKING PEOPLE ADVICE.

  • The 400 days characters, all of their stories are pretty memorable and contain different moral decisions.

  • I preferred Lee the most. I loved his backstory (criminal getting a second chance in the most unusual way) and the instant connection he had with Clem. His character was very dynamic in the way you had to balance your actions between protecting Clem, acting as the mediator in an often unstable group, maintaining complicated relationships that could very easily be strained, and so forth. I also felt that with Lee, the choices really tested your moral compass against your sense of preservation / survivalism more than any other protagonist in the series.

I also like how Lee was always motivated by a clear goal: Clem (whether that be through finding a way for her to survive, making sure she was protected and fed, keeping her safe, finding and rescuing her, trying to ensure she would go on safely after you passed, etc.). With Clem it was a short lived stint talking about finding Christa, tacking on to the cabin group, running away from carver and then... ? The same could be said for Javi. (I hardly remember the DLCs so I won't mention them). They might initially have had some motivations, but they would definitely lose track of it by the midpoint of the season.

  • Most of this is pretty accurate.

  • Lee the urban the father and one hell of a funny person his creative swears and lines made season 1.

  • Honestly, I personally enjoyed playing as Javi the most. He was a great guy. He was funny, capable, and I felt like I could truly step into his shoes. Of course, Clementine and Lee were fantastic to play as. Michonne was just freaking badass and fun! I felt like I was an unkillable tank! I enjoyed playing as the 400 Days characters, but I wish more was done with them.

  • Clem, by far.

  • Lee, Wyatt maybe even Shel or Russel.

They got that mystery vibe to them that haunts them that's begging to be unraveled.

  • I get Russel, but why Shel or especially Wyatt?

Well Wyatt has some guilt trip that his buddy Eddie did, I still have no idea if they were with some raiders or just screwed up some supply deal.

And we don't know enough about Shel or Becca, so that would be nice to explore.

  • Clementine no doubt.

  • From worst to best;

    1. 400 Day Crew
    2. Clementine
    3. Lee
    4. Javier

I just prefered being Javier, even though Ioved Lee... It's practically a tie for me.

  • Honestly, it just seemed like they came from a rave or something in the woods where Eddie killed Nate's friend after being surprised while taking a shit.

  • Lee, Because he's the only no retarded choice for a playable character.

  • I would say Clementine S2. From a kid's perspective that we all know and love, I would say it was the most interesting and I had fun with it. Getting on people's good side whom I actually liked was part of that fun.

  • Either Lee, Shel or Russell.

  • I'll give Lee the slight edge over Javier, but not by much. The Michonne dlc is okay, the 400 Days characters are completely forgettable to me and while Clementine's character is okay, I don't like playing as a teenage girl.

  • Bahahaha I can totally see that happening.

I'm clearly talking about future installments. People want her as the playable character in the future. That would mean playing as her while she's 13, 14, 15, etc. = playing as a teenage girl. Not my cup of tea.

  • I wish there was a possibility of him coming back without ruining season ones ending. Then we would be able to see the emotional return and how Lee handles Clem not needing him for protection anymore. It would also give a sense of hope the universe hasn't had before.

  • Bonnie. She was written into determinantly irredeemable territory in NGB. Even so, I had half hoped she would be the player character in season 2 and still feel it would have been an interesting choice. I get why Telltale went with Clementine. It just makes sense chronologically. But playing as Bonnie would have been a much different experience and a departure from typical pcs. Think about it....she isn't physically strong like Lee/Javier or naturally endearing like Clementine. She doesn't have the benefits or drawbacks depending on how you look at it....of the typical female character. She's not a badass like Lilly/Molly/Jane or gratuitously attractive like Carley/Kate. I think Telltale would have been brave to go outside the box and would have reaped the rewards of choosing an every-person had Clementine's story not needed to be so central to the plot in season 2.

  • True.

  • Javier would have been my favorite, but his dialogue always comes with something extra that I didn't ask for. Lee had some shit that I just loved, like punching walkers multiple times before grabbing a weapon. Telling people to stfu with a straight non-aggressive face. It was hilarious. I'm actually replaying season 1, I'm on episode 4 right now and I'm starting to remember how much I actually do like Lee.

  • I dunno. Lee had the most impact in terms of player choices, but Clem is the only child I've gotten to play as in a ZA, and it was nice to kinda see how that would've worked. I haven't gotten to play as Javi yet (since there are no demos for the game). The next considerable ones would be Shel (the only other playable sibling) and Bonnie, trying to deal with a love conundrum that wasn't necessarily something that was her doing.

  • Definitely Lee on this one, I loved playing as Javier aswell, about the other characters, I wouldn't say so, I played like 10 minute from every 400 days character and I didn't even know them well except for Bonnie, and I didn't like Bonnie too much, while I enjoyed playing as Michonne, there was a single problem that would make me not want to play as her again and it was her flashbacks and hallucinations. While for Clementine, it was fun playing as a kid in a ZA but for a while, I generally didn't enjoy playing as a child in season 2 because she made some major decisions and was much smarter than the most of the adults in the group which doesn't suit for a child.

  • Have to go with Clementine. I felt more vunerable and powerless in specific situations when playing with her character.

  • Which part? lol

  • Clementine

  • The way she was written in No Going Back and how playing as her would've been interesting.

    Lee
    Clementine
    Vince
    Michonne

  • Clementine. A small child for a protagonist was an original, non-linear and exciting way to tell the story; her character was already developed and her backstory worked very well as a proper setting for the game. As a child she had her limits restraining her (she couldn't reach things or wasn't as strong as Lee), and she had her advantages (swift, light, small), which was realistic, logical and fit perfectly into what I've wanted to see in S2. It straight up hit the jackpot and turned S2 into my favorite TT's game of all the time.
