That's going a little too far, think about it, people are still fighting hard to survive, no real safe place, who in his right mind would want to have children? No doctors around , barely any food etc. Even if they had all those around, as a mother or father, who wouldn't be filled with the insecurities of not being able to protect and feed your child?
That's the kind of scenario that would make women being locked up and rapped just to make babies for the sake of repopulation.
Seriously that's sick. No one should be forced to do anything.
But if the character has the option to show interest towards a same sex character, doesn't that make them Bisexual regardless? It's not a bad thing if it is since it would make sense for a controlled protagonist in a choice based narrative to be so.
But since THE PLAYER controls him don't we get to decide if hes bi or not? Isn't that kinda the whole point of these games? Because my Javi isn't bi because I'm not bi (I like to play as myself in these games)
Just let him be bi by player's choice. Nothing against bi, but I hate this came from nowhere. No signs of bi in previous episodes. Never flirted with men, just women. Now a new writer and yes he is bi. Not my choice.
Well, you're right about that, but the real problem here like you said, isn't about Javi being bi, gay or hetero but the fact that this whole season felt rushed, half baked with all characters. Same for the story.
But Javier's bisexuality comes off more as a last minute decision rather than something planned from the beginning, and I know rewrites happ… moreen but this seems like something out of the blue to pander to the LGBT community.
He's bisexual because he gets an awkward (but flirty) back-and-forth with Jesus? Well, OK, but that really doesn't cut it for me. If they really planned on making him bi from the beginning then they should've fleshed out that part of his character. In fact, that could've been an interesting idea to use to develop Javier himself and the characters around him.
There's so many opportunities that Telltale missed this season with their characters and that makes me sad.
It would have been nice, having at least one flashback about it, and make it an argument with his brother or something, but again, some people wouldn't agree with this, because it would feel forced. And some others, can't just accept that difference because they can't relate with it. So it's an endless problem.
Look, I'm bi-sexual myself and I could care less about Javier being LGBT.
Javier was a decent character, but suddenly giving out this inf… moreormation is just stupid. There were no real implications of Javi being bi-sexual before "flirting" with Jesus. I wouldn't even say it was "real" flirting. More like laid-back joking.
I don't even know why this was even established. It doesn't change Javier's story one bit. Sure, I suppose it makes Javier a bit more "likable" for "people like me", but I couldn't honestly give a monkey's left nut.
Yes I know.
But Javi wasn't bi at all in previous episodes.
He wasn't flirty to men. And now after 5 episodes we must believe he is bi.
This is what we get when they change the writers each episode.
Now I feel my gameplay is a total mess, nothing logical anymore.
Unless they make him bi by player's choice.
same ending for me , you were nicer to her than me, I told her there was no way I did that to my brother, I hope she understood that she was a crazy sister in law with no morals.
Well I have Kate still alive, but she want that my Javi keeps his distance then : "ok" then -"wow it was a fast answer"
XD
She's mad since I said her " you're my best friend" ^^
You state that "you know" but you really don't. It doesn't work like that. Ever heard of standards? He doesn't need to be a flirt with every single person that has a penis. And, I don't get why it's such a problem when they give you the choice to friend zone Jesus.
Yes I know.

You can be all over kate if you want, try with Jesus or even both. In the end it's your choice making him bi, gay or hetero. I'm pretty sure that was the whole point of TT making Javi bi.

I'm pretty sure Javier wasn't supposed to be bi from the beginning. I'm sure they added that in there last minute.
There's nothing wrong with Javier being bi. In fact, I think it suits him. I just wish they would've told us earlier.
Maybe Jesus is the first man he felt attraction to in the week the game took place? Just because you're bisexual it doesn't mean that you get a boner for everyone.
Yes I know.

Obviously! My Clem isn't black, because I'm not black myself. We should have the option to choose a character's physical appearence and other traits that can't be changed with anything, right?

It would have been interesting. But really doubt anyone in his family knew about it. Can you imagine his parents , or David's reaction?!! It would be the apocalypse before time.

She is still family, I don't think it's that easy to talk about your sexuality to them, even more if you can't predict their reactions, it can be tough enough with friends, so... don't think so.
But again, it's only my pesonal opinion.

That's like telling a person to be... well, not himself/herself. You can't just make a person to stop being homosexual/bisexual, just for the sake of human kind.
Besides, is it even a good idea to repopulate in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. That kind of thing would just slow you down and get you easily killed. I mean, Alvin is a pretty good example that a thing like that would just cause trouble on the long run.

Him being bisexual is cool, but it would have been better if it was just slightly more obvious and given more options earlier in the game. I… more totally would have played my Javi that way. Honestly it went over my head. I guess I missed the hints lol. Or maybe it was a last minute decision like others have suggested. Still nice to see us bi's represented none the less.
Actually, it was Carver at fault there since Rebecca and Alvin had been trying for a while and he took advantage of the stress it was putting on them to make his move.

Yeah considering most people where "all over" Kate it is extremely random and even if you wern't it still wasn't apparent in any way he was bi as he still flirted with other girls.
Do all bi, gay or lesbian look like it? no way! I'm pretty sure that it's only for a minority that's written all over... it will only look random if you are all over kate.
Dude, no offense, but don't you understand sarcasm? Really, there are certain things that we can't choose in a character. A person's sexuality can't be changed, the only thing you can choose is wheter you act on your feelings or not. Choosing who we ship ourselves with is good, but shipping Javier with Kate or Eleanor doesn't make him straight, and shipping him with Jesus doesn't make him gay.
It would have been interesting. But really doubt anyone in his family knew about it. Can you imagine his parents , or David's reaction?!! It would be the apocalypse before time.
I didn't play it like that, I pushed away Kate, greeting Elle and Ava doesn't mean flirting, so I don't really understand why it's a problem to not show you're bi, or gay. If you want to be a player, be it. But in my eyes it will still look the same, whenever you're bi , gay or hetero.

Javi is not bi
By what I see on the picture on top and what I read on the forum my conclusion is :
The last writer in charge Adam Douglas is bi, and he decided the last minutes too add that to the chat between Javi and Jesus, because HE and probably only him would do that.
So… interprete it like you want but for me there is no hint that Javi could have been bi all this time, or not having be
Sorry! I wasn't sure you were sarcastic, since I've been reading pretty much the same, about people not wanting Javi be "bi" or Clem not being black, half white or half asian etc.... it's a never ending of people wishes

Yeah. You shouldn't really make people have forced feelings. They shouldn't be forced to be straight no matter what and/or force people to make babies just for the sake of human kind.
This is about survival and repopulating is part of it, sure, but if you were to repopulate in the middle of an apocalypse, then you'd find yourself in difficult situations, such as low supplies for the sake of the children or find yourself almost killed to protect them.

More than the practical way of thinking, the emotional side is seriously lacking here.
I would be scared to death if that guy was around in the apocalypse....

Just because you've seen him flirt with women doesn't mean he's not bi..? Bisexuality is when you're attracted to both men and women lol.

Wonder if Kate knows that he is bi?
Why do I bother coming back to this thread?
It would have been interesting. But really doubt anyone in his family knew about it. Can you imagine his parents , or David's reaction?!! It would be the apocalypse before time.
Yeah I doubt David or anyone knew pre apocalypse. But maybe he talked about it with Kate during the 4 years on the road.

for you! not for me!! ;p

Wish it was hinted earlier, though and not in the end of the season.
It would be quite difficult to handle, if we think about marketing.
They can't even handle one episode! Can you imagine the mess?!!
I feel the same.... but many people already making a fuss about it, not wanting him bi.
Actually, it was Carver at fault there since Rebecca and Alvin had been trying for a while and he took advantage of the stress it was putting on them to make his move.
But what's worse in what he wrote, is that people should make babies without love regardless you're bi, hetero or gay. That's crazy!
I'm pretty sure he's being sarcastic just to show how absurd people are over Javier being bisexual.
Yeah considering most people where "all over" Kate it is extremely random and even if you wern't it still wasn't apparent in any way he was bi as he still flirted with other girls.

Knowing David, he wouldn't react much different from what he acted like when he found out HIS WIFE had feelings for someone else.
My Javier sexually identifies as a toaster
