Sorry! I wasn't sure you were sarcastic, since I've been reading pretty much the same, about people not wanting Javi be "bi" or Clem not being black, half white or half asian etc.... it's a never ending of people wishes

  • I would be scared to death if that guy was around in the apocalypse....

Considering I'm bisexual, I'd hide from everybody, in case someone would think like this.

More than the practical way of thinking, the emotional side is seriously lacking here. I would be scared to death if that guy was around in the apocalypse....

  • Please help me understand your point.
    I'm not a native English/American speaker
to my knowledge and experience bisexuals don't have equal tendencies for men and women
So why does it bother people if Javi flirt more with women than men, or don't flirt at all?

Cool. That's still not my point though.

  • I totally agree with you here, but that's what I've been reading so far...people want this or that, wish this or the other, I include myself in this, but some people don't have limits and wish to control everything, for everyone.

  • I'm okay for Javi being bisexual, but it felt pretty shoehorned in. It was in the last 5 minutes of the game with a character who won't be sticking around and for all we know Javier won't be in any future games. Plus it wasn't even remotely hinted at all in the game, especially traveling with Jesus. I know people want to be proud, but it can be better than this.

  • Wasn't it hinted that Javi's story wouldn't end like this?

  • Javier being bisexual is one of the most forced and shoehorned aspects about Javi's character. I believe it kind of summarizes what this whole season has been - a bunch of ideas being tossed around, sometimes forcing something into the story because why the fuck not.

Adam Douglas' reasoning for suddenly shifting Javier's sexuality in such a forced way still pisses me off. He says that he's "writing what he knows". Just what the hell is this meant to mean? Adam is bisexual, so he thought Javier should also be bisexual? It's even worse considering that Adam executed that Javi/Jesus scene so badly, he had to confirm that he was bisexual, instead of showing it to us in the game. It's even worse when you consider that Adam is also Cuban - and while Javier is a great character on his own, but it seems like Adam is such an unprofessional and amateur writer that he's tried to turn Javier into a self-insert or something.

  • It is basically what I said but with better words XD

I don't mind bi. But all in a sudden from nowhere Javi is bi after 5 episodes.
    So much bull shit again.
Just because a new writer loves to make up this story from nowhere.
If he was bi at the beginning I would be fine.
But this is really out of my Javi's character how I did play him.

    Vicky82 posted: »

But what's worse in what he wrote, is that people should make babies without love regardless you're bi, hetero or gay. That's crazy!

  • You can still play how you did until now, nothing has to change if you don't want to.
The problem about the writing isn't only about Javi being bi, but all characters and changes done in the story, making it sometimes with no depth.

In the recent AMA, some Telltale staff hinted at the possibility of seeing Javier's story continue as well in some of their responses.

"What we do know is that these stories aren’t over, and the future of the Richmond folks will develop based on the starting point that the player created in this season."

I know you probably can't say anything regarding this, but I and many others really hope Joan/Clint weren't completely forgotten by you guys since they weren't in ep. 5 at all (not counting the pictures). It would be such a waste to not see them again.

"They are not forgotten. The decision that Javi made in Episode 4 will have long term consequences."

You may not be able to answer this one, but regarding Season 4, will Javi and his surviving family suffer the same fate as Kenny and Jane? That is to say, killed off (in less than satisfying ways) for the sake of course correcting the story into a single season starting narrative? (Please don't do that again. Regardless of why, it came across as lazy)

    "No."

Why was Kate left unknown in my ending where I trusted Clem with her? What was the point of making her deliberately unknown when it would have been simple to show her as a walker like the other ending? Should i maintain any hopes that Kate might be alive and found later by Clementine?

"We wanted the endings to be something people would talk about, and to feel both customized and distinct. Kate missing opens up a different set of potential futures than Kate turned, which can make for an interesting and different story in the future for players with that ending.

However since anything can change over the course of developing a game I wouldn't take this as complete gospel.

  • But the thing is, if a character or person is open to the idea of being with either sex, then they are Bisexual, choosing to be with Kate doesn't just automatically make Javier straight (because he could still flirt with Jesus) and choosing to flirt with Jesus doesn't mean he's automatically gay (because he could've pursued Kate but chose not to). Besides, if the writers have confirmed Javier is Bisexual (they didn't say this was up to the player's choices) then we can't really argue against that, it's fact now.

    Vicky82 posted: »

You can be all over kate if you want, try with Jesus or even both. In the end it's your choice making him bi, gay or hetero. I'm pretty sure that was the whole point of TT making Javi bi.

  • Maybe, but I didn't see it that way since they still let us chose to reject Kate and Jesus rejected Javi.

  • ....it's not because Javi is bi, that he will chose necessarily a man, that's the point.
And I don't really think that they will push a male chararcter on Javi, seeing how people are making a huge fuss about it.
For some of you Javi was in love with Kate, in some endings they even decided to start a family. You can't just discard that fact either. So I don't really get it why, people are thinking they will push a male partner on Javi just because he is bi.

  • :D there is too many other reasons to reject her
    1- the weed
2- telling Javi in front the kids that she wan'ts to get laid
3- making Javi kill a child bare hands because she couldn't kill it, then just give the damn hammer!
4- the scene in the kitchen, asking Javi to take her with him and then hold his hand when David was coming. Jesus!
She's married to his brother!! What was she trying to pull there?!!
5- Telling Javi to leave behind Gabe and his brother
6- The bashing scene was because of her
I'm sure there is more, but who in his right mind could fall for that?!

  • Man this thread sure showed me how homophobic twdg fan base still is. Also blows my mind how people still don't get the concept of being bi.

  • edited June 2017

Gay men and lesbians can have children if they use donors.

Bi people can have children if they aren't with the same sex.

Trans people can have children as well.

Your ignorant statement is highly false.

Sorry to say it but even if you have feelings for the same gender, for the survival of human kind push those feelings down and repopulate humans.

  • What are you talking about? People aren't upset that Javier is bi, they're upset because Adam Douglas suddenly shit that idea out of his ass with no previous hints to Javier being bi at all.

Bi works well for anything choose-your-own-adventure-ish like TellTale stuff is, though.

Doesn't seem to have played any role whatsoever in the game, though, so it is at least somewhat out of left field.

You obviously haven't read through all of the thread then, a bunch of mad people at the very thought of lgbt characters in games in general.

I agree they should have brought it up sooner and more often in the game. Here's hoping we see Javi again it will be a part of his character still and it will be mentioned more.

  • Lets see the angry at lgbt characters existing at all in games people which was several people.

Someone saying lgbt character's shouldn't exist in games like this because they can't reproduce even though they can.

Someone getting mad at lgbt people when we get excited about being included in stuff.

Lgbt stuff shouldn't be video games because think of the children, even though this is m rated series. Also there's nothing wrong with kids seeing lgbt people in stuff.

So that's more than one or two people, I didn't even list off everything.

  • Well, I've read only a few of the comments here, so you might be right.

You obviously haven't read through all of the thread then, a bunch of mad people at the very thought of lgbt characters in games in general.

  • I didn't say the whole fandom was. I said people in this thread are.

  • When the writer of the game that imagines how characters feel in order to do their job blatantly states that a character is bisexual but you don't "interprete" it as a fact, you really should reevaluate your self dependence my man

Javi is not bi By what I see on the picture on top and what I read on the forum my conclusion is : The last writer in charge Adam Douglas

  • See. You completely understand why we are pissed.
