Well, David started to gave "order" to his "soldiers". I mean Kate's way was not the best way to stop it but it put a goddamn sense into him and made him realized that what in the actual hell is going on around him and made him cut his stupid military order ways. I, for one, dont see it as a betrayal because I accept her and backed up my decision.

EDIT : I lost all of my sympathy to David and expected this one to put a fight with him and cut his shit.

Um... and who is the one who started the fight between David and Javier in Episode 5?

  • Still, Javier almost died because of Kate. Her actions caused David to fight his brother over jealously.

  • No, I absolutely don't think I'm being dramatic to say putting drugs in someone's system without consent is abusive - whether it's inhaled, hidden in someone's food , spiked drinks, or forcefully injected. Even with a window open if you're smoking in a vehicle, so are your passengers. I'm not even being a prude. The smell was strong enough to wake Mairana. As a smoker myself, if a non-smoker is in my vehicle - I will not smoke. My life choices are not imposed on some else's life choices. Even in states where recreational use is legal, child protective services does not want parents smoking in their home at any time their child is also in the home.

If the kids hadn't expressed they didn't approve, I wouldn't even have brought it up. Kate using still isn't an issue if they'd just stopped so she could get out and get lit if she wanted.

The trouble with Kate is there's a big difference between what we're told about her and what we're shown. Agreed. At no point

  • I hate the Kate for the rate mate, didn't care much for her fate mate, d'rather have Nate than Kate mate for all the hate I ate with Pate mate.

  • I didn't kiss her and she still slapped me for rejecting her. That was the moment I started disliking Kate

If you reject her she gets all huffy and acts like you lead her on anyway. Actually, she only slaps him if you kissed her previously

  • That's odd. Must've been a glitch or something cause she's only supposed to do that if you've kissed her, from what I've seen.

  • Cute. Too bad I do not compute.

  • I don't hate Kate, but I can see why some people do. She's irresponsible sometimes, yeah, but can you blame her? She's stuck with two of her step kids, which one of them isn't fond of her, and her husband's brother. It's a lot of stress raising two kids that isn't even hers and even MORE stress when she realizes she has feelings for her husband's brother. A lot of stress like that can make people do stupid things.

And yes, she is clingy and whiny, especially if you reject her feelings. But do I hate her for that? No. I don't hate her at all, she's just a boring character like the rest of the Garcia's.

  • I still think "abuse" is pretty extreme in this situation. Inconsiderate or inappropriate, yes. They should just pull over. But as a non smoker, but someone who has spent many many times surrounded by people smoking weed, even as a kid, it's extremely difficult and unlikely to get you contact high. I've only had it even slightly effect me once (and it's not even a "high") in a completely unventilated area with multiple people smoking their own, never in a car with a window cracked that's for sure. The window was open and the van was moving at a reasonable pace. 90% of the smoke is going out very quickly. It's not like cigarettes that leaves chemicals in the walls and seats for several hours after. It's not the same as slipping drugs in someone's drink even slightly, that's very a very extreme and inaccurate comparison. I'm sorry I can understand most of your points, and I understand (and agree) that she shouldn't smoke in the van, but it's definitely not abuse.

If I'm being brutally honest, I doubt whoever wrote that scene was even thinking about it this way whatsoever.

  • Her painfully obvious advances towards Javi got old really quickly and she never seems to consider how her feelings towards Javi could ruin his relationship with David, going so far as to either kiss Javi right in front of David (or bitterly questioning how she could ever love Javi out loud) without care for the consequence.

Though on the other hand it seems most of the reasons I don't like Kate boils down to bad writing rather than her character itself, which could also be said for Gabe, Eleanor, Conrad, etc.

  • David and Kate just switch roles in the two occasions. David feels responsible for the raids and Kate feels responsible for the walkers. Neither wish to leave until they set their wrong right. They also swap perspectives as to what the actions are worth risking - Kate doesn't feel trying to stop the raids is worth risking Javier and Gabe, and David feels the same about the Walkers.

The lack of runtime in the game really hurt the characters. I do think the story neglected Kate. It didn't do enough to show her relationship with the kids, her survival skills, and her partnership with Javier. We don't get much of a sense of them all as a team. Because of that, deaths have little impact, characters and the story faced a ton of criticism and outright hate. A lot of elements just lead nowhere ( Eleanor romance , AJ sub-plot, season villain showdown , even Kate's dire injuries were a van explosion from complete repair - she can swing fine across chasms on a helicopter blade after surgery ).

Do any of the characters deserve the hate they received this season? Probably not, but they deserved better development.

I think something everyone is overlooking there is the fact that she wanted to leave earlier because of the New Frontier's actions(Arresting

  • I loved the character, she seems to be in a relationship with verbal abuse. From the first moment I wanted she away from that relationship.

I think Javi is attached to her and also to the children because they become family for being together so many years not for being David's family before.

Finally I got the romantic ending, seem a good one to me.

  • What would you rate your hate for Kate out of eight mate?

  • She ain't no eight, I'd never date, too late to rate her any less than 4.8
