Who else think they should reboot the game series and start over ?
Hey so everything is in the title .
I loved season 1, at the time , it was the best game ever . I played the last episode the day it was relieased and was already craving for the next season .
The dlc 400 days , best idea ever , i loved the concept , and you might not think the same way , but i loved 400 days as much as season 1 .
and the fact that they confirmed they would appear in season 2 depending on your choice was so exciting .
Too bad it was the character that i liked the less : bonnie who had a proeminent role ,
i was hoping for wyatt , russell and eddie (especially with that episode 4 cover ) to have important roles in the game , but it was still awesome to see them in howe's hardware .
now for season 2, i know there some people that thinks it was less good than season 1 , but i absolutely loved it .
For me , at least , it was even better than season 1 . I wasn't really a fan of playing a little girl at first ,
but they managed it so well , it was freaking awesome .
But from then , it was the down road for me .
The michonne dlc , i didnt particulary like it , it was ok to play , but there was a huge thing i disliked , perhaps i'm the only one idk.
Walking dead universe is so vast .
I don't know why we had to play a canon character : michonne
It might be cool for some , but playing a canon character for me didn't make me think like the story was real in kirkman universe
Quite the contrary , it just broke the immersion for me .
Honestly , not to sound bad or anything but i felt like i was playing a fanfiction .
Even more so since the character you're playing is unkillable .
The season 1 cameo of hershel glenn was cool since the thing happened before rick was even awake (i think so at least )
and the fact that the walkie talkie was actually the one glenn'd help rick with was awesome .
But most of all it was brief .
Now season 3 wasn't all that bad . I kind of liked it (meh ) but
i couldn't get myself to have particular affection to the characters in this series .
To picture this , i had more affections towards doug or mike than javier and his brother
which by the way gave me a kenny vibe , i don't know why .
And him finding back his brother , i get it that would find him 1 month after the apocalypse .
But 5 years after the apocalypse , now that's crazy and unbelievable considering all the horrible shits that happens in this universe .
and you guessed i didn't like much the fact that jesus was a proeminent character .
It simply breaks it for me , i don't know why really .Even if javier was somehow to end up on the comic has the community leader .
I would still feel like it was all false .
But it was all good ,although clementine kind of disapointed me , but she's growing up ,
so i understand you can't stay cute and innocent all your life .
one thing i really liked in this season is conrad . But besides taht everything was meh for me .
But yeah , season 1 , the dlc , season 2 were awesome .
But the dlc and season 3 are not as good .
Do you think they should reboot the series ?
Even more so since the beginning of the apocalypse is the best imo
I think i should recall this thread " my view on the series"
But yeah i want to know what you think
Am i the only one thinking this , don't know if there is similar threads but i'd really like to know if i'm the only one thinking this way .

There would be no need for a reboot, just tell stories in the universe that don't feature the existing characters.
I don't know if Kirkman would let them do it but I'd like to see stories set in other parts of the world and how they are dealing with the apocalypse.
We saw a brief glimpse of Spain in the story with Rick's brother, so it'd be great to see other parts of the world.
This is weird to read, so I just skimmed it and will just answer the question: Yes, I would want them to reboot the games to be post Season 1 so they can reuse the perfectly good material they had going there and actually flesh out certain things. It doesn't have to be one for one or even a complete departure, but they shouldn't just chuck everything either.
And honestly, I wouldn't mind going the Marvel root and have a spinoff installment come out in between Seasons/episodes like with the Michonne DLC.
There are similar threads, but your points and explanations are very well put and explained so I think it's suitable for you to have made your own thread.
Anyway, I agree with many of your points. I agree that Michonne was not really the best character for the DLC. Not because I dislike the character, but if they had a similar story with a fresh, new character, I think it would have been more interesting...The problem with that DLC is that we all knew she was going to be fine, and figure everything out, and move on to Rick's group eventually. I also agree that the inclusion of Jesus was a little off. I didn't mind him quite as much, because his part was rather brief in ANF, but still, it would have been nice to see someone who doesn't have plot armor.
As for A New Frontier overall, I pretty much agree with what you're saying about that as well. It was more difficult to connect with the characters, even Clementine. It didn't have the magic of season 1 or 2 (I personally thought both 1 and 2 were great).
As for a "reboot" of the series, I think it depends on what you mean. I don't think there is really a reason to start right at the beginning, although it is interesting, I think personally I like seeing further into the apocalypse after people have had a few years to learn to survive (for real survive, not travel in a magical van that runs perfectly after 4 years getting into no trouble). I wouldn't be totally against a new, proper character but at the same time, I feel like they just tired this with Javi and the other Garcia's. I am not sure where I stand on Clementine's story right now. I think they could make her character better again, but her appearance in ANF felt like it wasn't really her most of the time.
So yeah, I do agree they need some kind of different approach, but maybe not a full blown reboot. I would like to see what their next DLC or season 4 would look like before wanting to restart. I think Michonne was average, and ANF was below average...But I think they could bounce back before we scrap it and start over. If there were consistent writers for the entire series, a proper plan and no 200 rewrites in the span of a few short months, I think they could continue this story and make the quality amazing like in the past. I like to believe that anyway, because I want to believe telltale can bring back the wonderful experience their games used to have.
I loved the Michonne DLC....it remembered that the world was dangerous...but not every bad guy is completely bad...Nor every good person completely blameless.
In fact in context to the source material...Michonne was probably the best game other than season1. And it had the best combat...which ANF shoulda have learned from.
Now if I was going to "Reboot" the series....I would make it in the form of an Open World RPG...I would expand the survivors group at the motel...take the time to build up every character. Honestly S1 story was pretty damn fine...with more time and events that would shock and amaze the fans who think they know the story. Sure at it's base it is still about Lee taking care of Clementine and trying to keep her alive...but there are so many more things that could have happened in those few months. I would also have a DLC for it Called 16 Months...Detailing how Clem and Christa and whoever else survived...actually go on after Omid's death and how that affects Clem and Christa.
It can't be the game take place withing the comics I don't think kirkmen will like a reboot withing his comics story, But still I don't know matbe.
If they reboot it, they have to change the story around but keep the characters. I think lee should survive until season 3 and then be killed off at the end, clementine survives up to the last season then she can either be safe or can be killed off (hopefully safe) kenny should be a bit nicer to lee, and all of that good stuff. If they manage to maintain lee's character for 3 whole seasons, and have him likeable by the same people to that point, his death scene should be waaay more emotional if time and effort is put into it just like in season 1.
If Telltale wanted to start over and do something fresh, they need to get Clementine out of their hair. Not saying she's a bad character, but she's a fan favorite and they're ruining her character. No, killing her would be an awful idea. Simply have Kirkman write her in the comics so he can do whatever he pleases to her character THEN have Telltale either continue with Javier's story or start all over again.
They can pull a Fear The Walking Dead and have the new series take place during the early outbreak with a whole new bunch of characters. If the series does well then continue the story but if not they should just give up on Walking Dead and move on.
No need to reboot it. And if they did it should go to a gaming company.
This.
I'd rather they just pick up the slack and make an outstanding season 4.
I'd love to finally be rid of Clementine
Dude, What's with your obsession of hating her?
She gets people killed fucks everything up like Ben except Ben actually realized and felt sorry about it while Clementine just blames it on others.
What exactly does she fuck up?
Who or what does she blame on others?
No.
and more I cba to think of
Her actions David mostly

Great amazing argument I have seen the light I will build a shrine to Clementine and piss on it daily.
I will always post this gif until you knock it off.
So it was Clem's fault that New Frontier returned to the Junkyard, where Javier "stole" their gas, nearly killed one of their own members, and had no knowing of Clementine being there, and shot Mari?
Why would she anyway? You really think she'll tell the group "Hey guys, remember that group that killed your friends and raised Prescott? Well, guess what? I'm with them! Cool?" Also, Conrad went crazy so his death in Ep.2 was on his own and Javier's hands.
Would you get mad if someone you trusted decided to go against you and use you as a bargaining chip?
She didn't know AJ was going to live through it, medicine or not. David and the others thought he'd die and called him a "loss cause".
No it was her fault Javi didn't get to David therefore causing Maris death
Because Conrad already knew lol did you forget what happened in the scene he knew she was NF but she doesn't say she left or anything thus causing Conrads death for most.
Not if it were my fault in the first place
Nah not like a doctor said the medicine was useless or anything
Fine then its funny lol keep doin it
So why would Clem have to tell him? Why couldn't he speak up about it when everyone was together?
So you'd take a high-off-his-ass Doctor's word about it?
l did you forget what happened in the scene he knew she was NF but she doesn't say she left or anything thus causing Conrads death for most. Read the rest of the comment.
Better than giving him medicine I don't know shit about stop using dumb excuses. Whats your excuse for her robing Javi? Did he seem untrustworthy? Was she being careful? Or have u got a new one for me to laugh at?
But AJ survived when I gave him the medicine and they all said it was no use. SO....
How was she supposed to know Conrad knew she was NF? Again, when Conrad knew, why didn't he speak up about it?
I don't have one because I agree she does rob him, but that doesn't lead to Mari's death. She was doing what any person would do nowadays. She just met Javi too, why the hell would she trust him if she just met him? I wouldn't trust someone who I found tied up, he possibly could've been a bad person like Badger. And yeah, she was being careful. You can't be UN-careful in the apocalypse.
And AJ survives if you don't so they were right in saying it has no use.SO...
Did you miss the scene were he wants to use Clementine as a hostage and sees her brand?
How does that justify robbing him? It justifys her leaving him tied up. it doesn't justify her robbing him
...So what are you trying to say? He did know she was NF or didn't know until she showed the mark?
Because last time I checked YOU were the one who said he knew before I said it.
Because, at the time, Clementine cared for her own survival over someone else's.
I thought they said it was no use because AJ was gonna die. So either they were full of shit or had given me a bad diagnosis, which is the same thing. Either way they were wrong and he lived by sheer luck if I don't give it to him. Or possibly the meds worked after all.
I would like a reboot in the next 5-10 years or so, but they should take time for the fans to have a more calm state of mind towards the series.
I still think that they shouldn't have gone with time-skips without having some episodes or DLC to show what happened during the passage of time.
I would've hoped for:
And if you consider the technology we'll have in a few years time might be able to give developers the right tools to have more branching story paths in narrative games, TTG's own games could become allot better in that regard. Plus if they did do a reboot, they could fix the way they treated determinant characters and could even have determinants surviving for entire seasons and appearing in the next.
But at the end of the day, it'd be better to start a new series, like The Walking Dead Chronicles or something like that because recreating an already established story is more so on the ground of fanfiction and it's only really ever done with movies, occasionally with shows and rarely with video games (There was even outrage just for Final Fantasy 7 being titled a Remake).
Because last time I checked YOU were the one who said he knew before I said it.
ffs do you not listen he knew she was apart of TNF but doesn't know she left them and she doesn't say to Conrad that she did.
If she cared about survival she could've just went to Presscott
The meds didn't do shit we know this because he survives either way so what are you talking about?
