The Wolf Among Us: Season 2 FAQ

    (1) What is Wolf Among Us: Season 2?

Wolf Among Us: Season 2 is the second Season to Telltale's Wolf Among Us series, based on the Fables comics. The Second Season will follow a new storyline instead of directly resolving the first Season's plot.

    (2) Will I need to play Season 1 of Wolf Among Us, or is it a new story?

Wolf Among Us Season 2 will be a separate storyline; you will not be required to play Season 1. The story will still focus on Bigby Wolf and Snow White like Season 1 did.

    (3) When does Season 2 come out?

Season 2 is set to be released in 2021.

It was initially set to release "later in 2018", but was then delayed to 2019 to work on further innovating in new gameplay ideas. After Telltale's majority studio closure and assignment in 2019, it has been further delayed. It will still come out, as it is being developed by AdHoc Studio, a studio formed by ex-Telltale employees, and LCG Entertainment, the company that acquired Telltale after its closure.

    (4) How many episodes will Season 2 have?

Like most Telltale seasons, expect five episodes with periodic releases.

    (5) How much will each episode cost?

Expect episodes to cost $5 as usual.

    (6) I'm new to all that episodic game stuff. How are they doing this?

You can expect to receive a new episode roughly every month. Each episode contains an individual part of a story that is held together through a narrative that connects all of the episodes together into what Telltale calls a season. Think along the lines of a serialized television series such as Lost. An episode usually lasts about as long as a good movie would.

    The Wolf Among Us FAQ

    Original FAQ thread by Jennifer

    (1) What is The Wolf Among Us?

It is an episodic game based on Bill Willingham's Fables comics, set in Fabletown, a hidden refuge for Fables in New York City. It is a prequel, set before the first issue, and is said by Mr. Willingham to be in canon with the comics. The player character will be the sheriff Bigby Wolf, and it will include Fables favorites like Snow White and Colin, one of the three little pigs. It also features original Fables created by Telltale for this game.

    (2) What kind of game is it?

It is a game about choices, similar to The Walking Dead, with action sequences. The choices in this game relate to Bigby's wolf side, and how he treats the people he meets and those he has to protect. Like The Walking Dead, it consists of choice based gameplay. However, there is more freedom in the choices this time. You are able to choose where to go in some instances, and the events will happen in real time. So, the other event will still play out regardless of whether or not you are there. Also, the action is slightly more directly controlled this time. Bigby gets into brawls, and since he is a Fable, the fights are more over the top than they could be with someone like Lee from The Walking Dead.

    (3) Is Bill Willingham involved with the game?

Bill Willingham reached a deal with Telltale to help with the general direction of the story of the game, and to make sure the characters and story stay true to the greater Fables universe.

    (4) How many episodes are there?

There are five episodes. The episode titles are Faith, Smoke & Mirrors, A Crooked Mile, In Sheep's Clothing, and Cry Wolf.

    (5) On which platforms is TWAU available?

Episodes are available on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Playstation Vita, and a few other platforms.

    (6) When were the episodes released?

    Consult the Episode Waiting Threads

    (7) How much does it cost?

Like The Walking Dead, the episodes cost $5 each. A season pass option comprising all five episodes is available for $25. The price might vary per platform. On some platforms (like the PC), you can't buy the episodes individually and will have to buy the entire season at once.

    (8) Which languages are available for The Wolf Among Us?

Only English is available at the moment. There is no word on what languages The Wolf Among Us will be translated to or when they will be available, but historically Telltale has released their translations towards the end of the season.

    (9) What is this comic adaptation I read about? Did Telltale Make that too?

Fables: The Wolf Among Us is a comic book adaptation of the first season of The Wolf Among Us. It was told over 48 issues. The first issue was released on December 10, 2014, and the final issue was released on November 9, 2015. Two trade paperbacks collecting all 48 issues were released. Volume 1 was released on November 3, 2015, and Volume 2 was released on July 5, 2016.

Volume 1 of the trade paperback can be purchased in paperback form from Amazon or digitally on Kindle or Comixology. Volume 2 of the trade paperback can be purchased in paperback form from Amazon or digitally on Kindle or Comixology.

This comic was not produced by Telltale. Fables: The Wolf Among Us was published by the license holder for Fables comic books, Vertigo. The storyline of the game was adapted into comic form, with a few differences, with Vertigo's writers and artists handling the comic adaptations. It is set in the same universe as their Fables series.
