I don't wanna see them (Or particularly Javier) as a huge focus of season 4. This season needs to return to Clem's story. I won't mind Javi being there as long as he doesn't overshadow her again.
No. What I don't want to see is the garcia's. Cause then everyone but Javi has to die. Let's get back to clem's story. And maybe this ti… moreme more than one character is guaranteed to survive.
Send her to alexandria where she can not be alone for a long time.
I could live with that. As long as they don't have to kill off the determinant survivors(ie. only javi has any plot significance while the other remain behind, that would be fine).
I would wanna see the Garcias.
But.

I like your talk, but all this doesn't mean season 3 was bad. I did like the writing and let's say everything they did in S1&S2 including designs, dialogues, music,etc.. And I personally think that I wouldn't love to see everything in ANF exactly the same as it was in S1&2 even if I thought I would.
Season 3 was interesting and thrilling and it had it's best moments just like in S1&2. probably had great characters, but most of us didn't mentally get attached to. frankly I think it's best to be this way. perhaps we're not supposed to be so attracted to the story line or characters of this season, cuz maybe it was meant to be a side story of other people who were surviving the Apocalypse of TWD. And every player will enjoy seeing his clementine from S1&2 being a part of this story.
I guess that what made TWD players start to complain cuz they wanted to get more Clementine and more attachment to the story and characters and more feels like they experienced in the previous seasons.
Now i think S4 will be perfect to continue Clementine's story and bring us back to the main story line we were separated from. And maybe add some serious characters that we would care about and want them to last longer.
I agree with most of what I've seen in this thread so far.
Personally, I don't mind if she meets up with another group or not, just so lo… moreng as it's a small GROUP, not a community, such as in S1 or S2. That would give plenty of opportunity to build rapport with the characters that would be with you most of the season. Which leads to the next point.
CHARACTER BUILDING. Season 1 did this fantastically, while exploring the hubs and talking to characters didn't add anything to the plot, it DID add loads to the story. Allowing you to chat it up with the characters in the downtime segments buily a relationship with them. Even if you hated the character, you at least felt SOMETHING for them. ANF had a severe lack of hub areas (the only major one that comes to mind is in E2 at the gas station...and that wasn't anything super special). I felt pretty detached from all the characters. I could tell we were supposed to feel something for them… [view original content]
* No more Javier and his family. This should be his conclusion cause ANF ending was very fitting.
* No more sequel baitings
* No more action focus
* No more lies
Okay, let's see.
* No rewrites happening mid-season, no more writers running around in chaos. One constant, devoted team working fair a… morend square on the game.
* No more purposeless walking around, it's walkers' job, not characters'. Give your narrative a solid, proper purpose.
* Less action. For fuck's sake, it ain't no movie.
* More talking. We need peaceful, calmer moments, we need to learn about characters we are supposed to care about, How else are we gonna do that if not by bonding with them? Apocalypse is not all about action. People grief, they can be lost, they have their past that haunts them. They need to talk, to remember, sometimes to laugh it off. They need to be human.
* More freedom & more hubs. Let us walk around, touch stuff, point and fucking click. Let us be mistaken when choosing a wrong object to pick up, let us carry stuff we can use in the future.
* We need more music. What happened to the credit … [view original content]
The new engine style, the stupid camera shakes/zooms, I want hubs in an episode, no reused music for the most part I wanna hear some new shi… moret, I don't wanna see over dramatized scenes. While were talking about season 4 I always thought it would be a cool idea for clem to run into a new character each episode and ultimately having them join her group you know? Like she meets someone in the first episode and now they have the whole episode to develop that character along with the relationship with clem (or the player you could say). And then when the second character comes along they can focus on developing that character along with clem and other people in the group. If you played persona 5 kinda like that in a way.
The only thing I DON'T wanna see in Season 4 is action every 5 minutes. This season never gave us time to take a breather and enjoy the slow moments like sharing a laugh with people.
Like when Fern had the gun to our heads and we managed to calm her down then all of a sudden it goes right back to the action when David breaks her arm. WHAT?! Damn, give us a moment!
The title to be: The Walking Dead Game Season Three.
No appearances of characters from the comics, unless they haven't appeared in the comics in a long time.
Clementine's story continues, if there needs to be another main lead, then the playtime should be 50-50, not 95-5.
Our choices actually having an effect on Clementine's personality.
No lies about what's supposedly going to be in the game.
At least five, fully fleshed out episodes, none that are cut into two and none that are shorter than 80 minutes.
Additional stuff to do, such as side quests, more explore-able hubs where you can interact and get to know characters.
More game-play such as puzzle solving.
The return of familiar faces from the first two seasons and maybe some from ANF and Michonne.
Choices we made in all previous seasons having some effect on the game.
Determinants being treated nicely, if they die, they're dead but if we went through allot to save them, I'd like them to be able to survive or at least affect the story, even in a small way.
A group that gets to know one another with characters that develop before dying and dynamic relationships.
Agreed! If telltale gives us the ability to save characters from death, then they should be able to survive the entire season and have an effect on the story.
How about no more goddamn forced romances huh? COUGHCOUGHKateCOUGHCOUGHGabeCOUGH (tbf Gabentine only happens in the Jane ending, buuuut I imagine some Jane ending players were a bit pissed)
I'm not 100% sure if this is controversial thing to mention but.
Please Telltale Games, let us PLAY your games. Let us move around more (Life is Strange) and code some basic combat system when the zombies attack, making it a bit more interactive. See various arcade shooters where the camera moves around and you shoot what's on screen. I doubt missing a dialogue option because you struggle to stay awake is intended by design.
Also, I have found out that your games are much better when you play them after all the episodes are out.
I'm not attached to any of them, though I would love to finally see TT actually keeping their promises and making ANF's endings significant/affecting the future gameplay. After all that TT's pulled out, I've got the feeling they're gonna use only Javier, if at all, which makes the whole "fresh blood" idea completely pointless and ridiculous. But let's not jump to conclusions.
Maybe a new close friend to Clementine like Lee that is also close to us and sticks with her till the end of the series. Or maybe a character that knows a damn about what happened to the world and made it be like this.
That would be cool. I think everyone's tired of getting into groups just for all of them to die or become determinants. Plus if she met only one or two people it what be easier for telltale to develop their characters because they wouldn't have to focus on what happens to the other characters that die fast and no one cares about.
I agree, I hope she doesn't run into a new group of survivors. However, I hope she does run into ONE more new person, someone who's her own … moreage.
I can picture S4 being about finding AJ, building chemistry between Clem and her new friend/partner, running into dangerous people, and (optional) Clem finding out she truly wasn't alone in a world like that.
What Telltale really needs to do is TAKE THEIR TIME when developing a new season. They need to read fan and YouTube feedback so they can fix… more their mistakes from the previous season, Read reviews on why this season was a disappointment, and just stick with a certain amount of writers for the whole season.
No characters doing things just to force a certain outcome (like David going postal when we could've left peacefully)
No deciding ships of characters we aren't in control of
No characters whose disposition and feelings are completely plot convienient (Like Tripp instantly forgiving you after you brought the bandits who destroyed his home, killing his friend, and CONDEMNING HIM TO DEATH)
Let go if the idea that anything one minute longer than an hour is a long episode
Stop with the flashbacks, unless they actually can make something better than a five minute sliver that feels cheap
No forced romances thank you. The whole mess with Kate with the forced conflict in the end despite me rejecting her 100%... ughh... Speaking of which...
No forced conflict / making characters act in a completely plot convenient way. See the above. Also, they reaaally wanted us to hate David in the last episode. Yes, some might say that's how he always was but my Javi had been building something with his brother, shared some pretty heartfelt moments with him, BUT in the last Ep it seemed like none of it mattered and David would act the same if I had antagonized him through the whole season and messed around with his wife. Don't give me an option to make these choices if they aren't going to matter anyway. Forced drama like this has a jarring effect which makes character progression seem inconsistent.
No more determinant characters who die in the next damn episode anyways. Conrad is a legend, we all know that and I must give some props for TT for that. However, I'm sick of seeing decisions paying out like Ava/Tripp. It cheapens the whole experience. Get some more Conrads in there or just stop making these "Who will live ...although they both die anyway?" choices.
Don't give David/Kate/Gabe the Kenny/Jane treatment is season 4. If Clem goes back to Richmond I don't want to hear Javier say "X" died, ran away, or some crap. Telltale should have learned their lesson from this season.
Well, I specified climax since it's pretty much the ending that the Seasons/installments are building to, but most of those do indeed count for the general Angry Dad and Kenny-type/clone categories.
Let's see:
Larry and Kenny in S1
Carlos in S2
David in ANF.
I was going to add Carver since he's AJ's possible father, but ruled him out because AJ looks nothing like him.
Gabe: Clementine...?
Clem: Yes Gabe?
Gabe: I...well...
Clem: What is it? Speak my love.
Gabe: The thing is...well...
Clem: Go… more on.
Gabe: I WANT YOUR BABY!
Clem:....OKAY!
Gabe: REALLY!?
Clem: YEAH! LET'S BE PARENTS!
Gabe: YAY! I'M GONNA BE A MAN!
Clem: AND I'M GONNA HAVE STRETCH MARKS BEFORE I'M 18! Quick! Let's make out some more in front of the camera! WE CAN USE TONGUES THIS TIME!
Gabe: I'M A MAN!
Lilly/Christa:
* No more Javier and his family. This should be his conclusion cause ANF ending was very fitting.
* No more sequel baitings
* No more action focus
* No more lies

dude you hate anf way too much calm down
i agree 100% on the first one
hubs are boring sometimes
I've been defending Telltale for years and this game ripped me off. It deserves a lot of hate.

I just want choices to matter. Maybe the Season 1 writers should return.

Literally the same, exact, critiques before this spin-off series came out.
I doubt they are gonna listen to us, they didn't for the past 3 years....
100% Agreed. I want this too
We wouldn't be if Telltale didn't push her aside in ANF
That would be cool. I think everyone's tired of getting into groups just for all of them to die or become determinants. [removed]
That's because she was pushed aside in ANF.
Heh. "Take their time" you say...
ANF had 2.5 years.
No love triangles

No adverts at the end of a rushed episode...
And was shorter than season 2
I don't want any more stupid love triangle stuff. Or any more characters that get introduced just to do nothing really.
No forced romances thank you. The whole mess with Kate with the forced conflict in the end despite me rejecting her 100%... ughh... Speaking of which...

Anything that remotely even relates to ANF. Complete waste of time for everyone involved.
I want to see:
More Clementine
Less Action
Character Development
No Comic Book Characters
AJ - Because damn wasn't that the main purpose of Season 3?
Yet Another Angry Dad Climax.
Yeah, how many of those did we have in the last 3 seasons again? 4?
Well, 3 unless I'm forgetting one but it's still way past tiresome, not to mention overplayed.
Let's see:
Larry and Kenny in S1
Carlos in S2
David in ANF.

Why Lilacs...why do you have to hurt us?
Dude how can u not like action?
I hate lazy-written action.
How can action be lazy?
They're so forgettable.
