Sooo...now that the nightmare is over
I was just sitting in my game chair staring at my digital collection of all the Walking Dead games and then I started reminiscing on all the fun and emotional time I've had with these games. It's been a hell of a ride. Now we are coming up on the last season and I can't help but blame ANF for the destruction of this franchise. The amount of damage that this game has done to this series is LEGENDARY, NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER SEEN SUCH A FALL FROM GRACE as far as video games go TWD is the perfect example of how an amazing series of games can get screwed by one bad entry. That is all. I shall return in 2018

And we got another thread entirely based on "REEEE NEW FRONTIER IS SHIT" Never gets old
Man, believe me I have a high rate hateful feelings for ANF but havent we just enough threads like that already ? You can share your thoughts in these threads that already existed so people wont be tired to see these complainings again and again.
"Destruction"? that's a bit exaggerated dont you think? you are not being fair. If you keep focusing on the negatives aspects of ANF then you will never be able to enjoy the good aspects of the game. Find a way to enjoy the game and try to be a little more positive about it, that's what i did, it worked for me, maybe it could work for you.
Dude, I sure ANF had fairly little to do with Telltale's decision, given they completely rewrote the last two episodes and seemingly rushed them out. Sure, it might not have gone over very well with folks, but they would've made that decision before it was over.
Honestly, looking at what happens in the game proper compared to how it was initially advertised and talked about is part of what gave me the impression that Telltale themselves have grown tired of the series and thus the reactions to ANF here were redundant in further convincing them that now is the time to stop.
The only negative aspect is that there are no positive aspects... Jokes aside though I can see where you are coming from. You can play and somewhat enjoy ANF if you completely ignore the previous two installments of the series. As a stand alone game it probably would have been considered a low point in quality in the series. However, the fact that Telltale passed it off as season 3 is why it destroyed the series. Yes, destroyed. Notice they are ending the series. Really they shouldn't make a season 4 because, as I've said in other threads: If it is terrible it will only soil TWD's name even more and if it could be great then why end the franchise?
Maybe for you. I may have my issues with the game but i still found a way to enjoy it.
Are you saying they are ending the series just because ANF wasn't popular? They have to end Clementine's story sometime... that doesn't mean TT is completely done with this franchise, we dont know that for sure, it was never stated, they've only said its the end of Clem's journey. TT can always write new stories, new characters or new DLCs about TWD in a few years, who knows...
I honestly don't get that opinion. "ANF WAS SHIT THEREFORE SEASON 4 IS GONNA BE A PIECE OF GARBAGE CUZ THATS HOW IT WORKS."
No... Just no
People say it is going to be terrible, as ANF proved telltale ran out of ideas... Which is once again bullshit. ANF had potential to become quite a decent game but it ended up shit, Telltale had some nice ideas but they were executed poorly. Cough Gabe Cough cough People make mistakes... But as you know people learn from mistakes, so I don't know why people aren't giving telltale a chance to fix it. And before I get the "WE GAVE TELLTALE ENOUGH CHANCES YOU FUCKING RETARD FEEDME" They screwed up one TWD game, not fucking twelve like people make it seem.
Plus I honestly don't have a clue why people would want to leave the series the way it is. Literally... Why the fuck would that be a good idea? It would just become a HL3 meme.
In conclusion I'm triggered as you can clearly see. They fucked up ANF and are making a season 4, unless you want to leave it at a cliffhanger then by all means don't play season 4 and read some fanfic.
Oh and this comment wasn't exactly directed at you Stable
I can understand we you are coming from. The reason I dont believe season 4 will be good is because there is nothing to base the next game off of. All characters and plot points from seasons 1 and 2 are dead, destroyed or lost except for Clem and AJ. I just dont think that's enough to create an entire season. They also have the option to build off of ANF which would be the worst idea since it was a flop and is despised by the fan base. The third and most viable option is to start a story from scratch without using AJ as a plot point and Clem being the main character. This a terrible idea as well but its really telltale's only option. The reason its going to be a let down is because you would be starting a new story as the finale of you series, which is ridiculous. It may be the final season but in no way will it be a grand finale when you have nothing to build off of for your story of your last season.
I got it Clears throat After a big baddie activates the bomb to destroy the world Clementine dies deactivating the nuke saving the world.
Joking aside I get your point. I am just not exactly ready to give up on telltale and it would be worse to just leave the series as it is in all honesty.
heh, never played Mass Effect Andromeda?
Nope don't start it, don't you even think about starting that argument.
Come on! that would be really stupid! the fans are always complaining that our choices doesnt matter at all and now you want that TT scrap our choices and outcomes again?? They cant pretend ANF doesnt exist, the least TT can do is to respect our choices, even if you disliked ANF, its better than nothing.
If TT decides to start the final season from scratch, to make it only about Clementine trying to find AJ during the entire season... that would completely boring, nobody gives a f#%k about AJ, he is just a plot device, besides... after Clem finds AJ (if she does) she needs to have a place where to go back, a place to call home where she can raise AJ, Richmond could be that place, she already knows Javier...
Do not bring that up....I still cry myself to sleep...especially now that Bioware has abandoned it.
Too soon
One of the biggest robbery in video game history
jesus christ dude
Choices do already matter in telltale games. Just because they dont alter the path of the story doesn't mean they dont matter. If your choices dont matter why dont you just choose the rude/asshole dialogue choice every time. Think about that. The choices matter not always because of their repercussions but because they reflect upon our character. I choose to be nice to clem as lee not because I though it would have any effect latter one but because its who I wanted to see myself as in the game.
Secondly building a house on a fault line is always stupid no matter how nice the house looks (A metaphor for building a story off of ANF's story). You cant start with shit as a foundation for a project and just hope the continued story covers up for the rotten heap of garbage that is underneath it.
Why claiming to disagree with me on using AJ as a plot device when I clearly agree with you that it would be a poor idea.
Well someone is being overly dramatic.
P.S I really enjoyed ANF, despite a few problems I had with the finale.
My god, Telltale forums! We get it. You didn't like ANF. Either bring some new points to the table or leave the dead horse be.
Thank you!
Or at the very least, give constructive suggestions as to how things could've been handled without completely changing things around.
I dont know why you are telling me this, i understand this, i'm not the one complaining about it all the time.
Damn... you are being pessimistic, if that's what you really think then i assume you are not even gonna buy the game.
The truth isn't pessimistic. I hope its going to be a good game but I know it probably wont be.
I find people who complain about people complaining to be far more annoying.
If you don't like the content of threads then start posting threads with content that you do want to talk about.
As a member of this forum, I have a right to complain something about that I dont like as long as it doesnt go south. So I dont see any problem here and you have no right to judge me for something that I already allowed to do.
You absolutely do have that right, but don't you recognise that the people complaining about A New Frontier have an equal right to put across their displeasure.
All that occurs is a cycle of negativity. Again I repeat if you aren't enjoying the content of these threads, then why not create new ones with content that you do enjoy?
By all means continue to post in these threads and complain about them, just try and branch out.
No they dont, it is actually against the forum rules. Because the "ANF is shit" topic has been existed in other threads already and open another one is just cause a dirtiness in forums.
Yeah and I will continue to warn the members who create threads like that, dont worry.
I always thought folks could simply not comment in repeat threads. Not that tough to ignore unless every last new thread is a wail season 3 thread which gives little option but to comment in them. But if you only got about 4 or 5 trashing New Frontier threads on a weekly basis then that's not that bad. Considering the quality of the product it's more than reasonable.
