So... is AJ an immune?

I don't know where I got a cue about it but I think somewhere someone mentioned that he got bit in Season 3 but after giving him vancomycin he survived? I mean there's a reason why Clementine said, "I hope he was the one..." as in the one that could survive the zombie plague. And I guess it would make a lot of sense that Season 4 would be the last season if they were able to find an immune because an immune can lead to making a cure/vaccine that would upruptly stop the entire zombie apocalypse something almost unheard of in a zombie apocalypse story.

I feel like Season 4 would be about people kidnapping AJ around and there being a big power struggle for him for his value as an immune. And there's going to be a martyr, a possible Clementine death or even AJ dying the final hope.

  • AJ was never bit...whoever told you that either was trolling or had no idea what he was talking about. AJ was only sick, he didn't have a plague or anything like that.

No I got it from Season 3 from the discussion between characters. For David and Co. to say there was no hope for him to survive it sounded like he was bit by a zombie and was going to turn.

  • They said that because he was sick and it looked like he wouldn't make it. Babies get sick easily and since medicine is scarce, they were afraid he wouldn't make it.

AJ's immune system simply fought off the sickness if you decided to not give him the medicine.

  • No, he wasn't bitten. It's implied that he caught pneumonia or some other bacterial based sickness.

It could be a potentially interesting macguffin, though.

  • The medicine was also implied to be a pain killer rather than anything that would alleviate his symptoms, though Deltino said that it's actually an anti-biotic.

  • Clementine wanted him to be "the one who survived", meaning the one close person to her that wouldn't die since everyone around he that she cares about always dies. There is no cure or immunity in The Walking Dead.

  • I really hope they don't take that approach.. but it was heavily implied that he contracted some form of illness of the sort. He wasn't bitten.

  • His plot armour makes him immune so yes.

  • You aren't wrong there.
