To be fair, the notion of Clementine's character is such a joke at this point to being essentially non-existent outside of vague relation to wherever the story of any installment is going.
I'm pretty disappointed that this is still one of the most popular threads on the forum. Here I am hoping for discussion on the settings we … morewill see in TFS, how the combat could work, predictions for the new characters, potential choices we can make.... And instead there are people saying how they would want Clem to be gay, bi, or even fucking trans. Like what the hell people, shes a little girl trying to survive the post apocalypse. If anything any sort of romance in TFS should be up to the player but she is certainly not going to have a transgender subplot going for her. Talk about ruining her character.
Also NONE of the other communities are even talking about this weirdness. Not Reddit or the other TWD forum. It's a shame because an idea like this would be shunned (like it rightfully should be) in the old forum days. Sheesh I wish this thread would die.
Except Clem has never even gotten a hint of being a gay or trans character. In fact, the only canon relationship she has ever had has been a straight relationship. Her becoming bi or gay or trans would be like Javi suddenly being bi just because the writers said so. It would be out of place and be little more than a fan service for players who promote that agenda. There's literally no reason for it, nor any indication that she swings that way. And yeah, shes an underage girl so it's a bit fucking weird. Maybe we can focus on actual plot details, character relationships, settings, and choices instead of queer relationships that would do nothing for Clementine's character.
* me: (likes men)
* also me: (just wants to see gay and trans people portrayed positively without it being a major component of the characters)
* everyone else: lol what are you, a child molester?

And she doesn't need to be, nor does she need to give off hints by now if she is, but somebody oughta be, and having her fall under that umbrella would be leaps and bounds towards relatability for a lot of under-represented players.
In fact, the only canon relationship she has ever had has been a straight relationship
You say that as if biromantic/bisexual people usually date more than one person at a time.
Her becoming bi or gay or trans would be like Javi suddenly being bi just because the writers said so. It would be out of place and be little more than a fan service for players who promote that agenda
Discovery happens. A lot of queer people think they're not queer at first, but because it's not a hot-button issue in the apocalypse, she could easily be queer without all the baggage that comes with it in everyday life. Also, a lot of things have already happened to her that are out of place or supposedly just "fanservice." Look at ANF and tell me that that character is ANYTHING like S1 Clementine.
lmao "that agenda" you mean civil rights?
There's literally no reason for it
again, it doesn't have to be her
again, all the reasons I've stated in this thread and others
nor any indication that she swings that way
again, doesn't need to show beforehand
And yeah, shes an underage girl so it's a bit fucking weird
Discovering who you like is not weird at any age. If anything, you should be raising issue with parents decking out their toddlers and infants with clothing/remarks suggesting that "your girl's gonna call my son daddy when he grows up" and the like.
Maybe we can focus on actual plot details, character relationships, settings, and choices alongside queer relationships of characters
Except Clem has never even gotten a hint of being a gay or trans character. In fact, the only canon relationship she has ever had has been a… more straight relationship. To you and everyone else saying "hur dur Clem hasn't shown any signs of being bi," like I said earlier to someone else, NO FUCKING SHIT. She's a kid. In season 1 she 8/9 and thought kissing was gross. In season 2 she was 11 and may as well been ace because NOTHING was mentioned either way. She's 13 in season 3 and starting to explore her sexuality. Just because her first on screen romantic display was with a boy does not mean she can't also like girls. She's still figuring that shit out. My daughter is 19 and just recently settled on the fact that she doesn't like boys at all. It took her until 19 to figure her shit out. Clem is 13 in ANF, she doesn't have to have it figured out yet.
I'm perfectly content for them to not include romance at all. In fact I hope they do leave romance out because I expect they'll fuck it up but if they do include it, I hope they do it well and I hope they leave her sexuality entirely up to the player so she can be straight, bi, gay, or ace, whatever the player wants her to be so that every player can have the Clem they envision, but you people bitching and moaning about her never showing any inclination of being bi are just being idiots and it makes you sound bigoted.

"Civil rights" lmfao so for us to have civil rights for queer people we need them to oversaturate mediums like TWD for purely fan service? They've gotten plenty of representation in this game. Nobody complained that Walter and Matthew were gay, nor Zachary and Jonas. But you're asking for them to make it a huge part of Clem's character during the final season when there are many more pressing issues and there's no indication or necessity for her to be queer. It is blatant pandering but of course you're going to use virtue signaling to make everyone think it's necessary. Ridiculous.

No, for us to have civil rights for queer people, we need them to be presented/represented fairly in media. Saying someone's gay offscreen, making it ambiguous without it being a commentary on why they're not out with it, or killing them off completely doesn't count, because if the treatment was opposite, I know non-queer people would be in a fit of rage.
They've gotten plenty of representation in this game
No, they/we really haven't. Walter: ambiguous and dead. Matthew: ambiguous and dead. Zachary: dead. Jonas: dead/missing. Paige: ambiguous. Jesus: has plot armor because he did not come from the games. Javi: ambiguous and unknown.
Nobody complained that Walter and Matthew were gay, nor Zachary and Jonas

That's not the issue. Im okay with telltale adding an LGBT Character to the story, but just as long as the game doesn't make a big deal of it. Perhaps a quick reference along the lines of how they handled Jesus in Episode 5 of ANF. That's fine. Clementine on the other hand, I'm not so sure.

Oh my god! That is the rudest most prejudice thing I have ever seen! I am lactose intolerant so that statement you just made is extremely offensive to me! How dare you assume my preference on such a scornful dairy product such as milk!
You know what! Screw being straight or LGBT! Clementine is obviously a hat! From now on Clem should be addressed by the proper pronouns such as IT! Or else you are nothing but a sexist, racist, discriminatory, individual!
Did you read my whole post? Everything else I said was open to a Clementine potentially being bi cause we don't really know. Also you can't … moredispute that Joker kissing Harley was sick:

That’s essentially how I feel. If a LGBT character who shows up in the final season and if their character isn’t defined by the fact that they are LGBT, I wouldn’t care. I just don’t think it would make sense for Clementine to be this character. There is evidence backing up the claim that she is straight, there is not evidence backing up the claim that she is romantically interested in other girls as well. Then again if it happens I would be fine with it so long as it is determinant. I don’t hate LGBT characters. I am a huge fan of Dragon Age and that game if filled with both straight and LGBT characters. I don’t mind because most of these LGBT characters’ arcs have nothing to do with them being LGBT it’s just a minor detail with most of them.

You just have to train your body and mind one carton at a time to develop a physical resistance then you will be strong enough to defeat your nemesis the Milk Man.

Dragon Age Inquisition had some terrible romance options though my straight male character stayed a virgin in that game cause the options were so terrible...

I have no problem with Cassandra going from looking like a fashion model to a hardened warrior who actually looks like she has been in a fight. More than anything that is a change in artstyle. In Dragon Age 2 everybody looked cartoony and many looked flawlessly perfect. Cassandra looks basically the same, all they did was remove most of the make-up and give her scars. Dragon Age Inquisition took a more realistic approach but there were both beautiful and more basic looking characters which made perfect sense. Cassandra is one of the best characters in that series.
I normally don't do romances in any videogames but in Inquisition I played as a female elf and the Solas romance was amazing. If they include romances in the final season I will likely stay away from them unless there is a romance with a character who has a smilar arc as Solas. The Solas romance was very emotional and the best part about it is that it was completely choice based.

To some of the users here - knock it off with the insults and personal attacks, guys.
We had to remove a few posts, and we may need to close this thread if discussion doesn't become civil. Also, I previously left a request to keep discussion focused on Walking Dead and not real life politics, so that still applies too.
(Also, thank you to the users reporting and flagging posts - it does help us!)

Yeah I don't think this thread will be going towards a more positive direction anytime soon. Qualms about more awkwardly shoehorned in LGBT representation like what they did with Javi as well as concerns about Telltale tackling another romance in a series where it shouldn't be a high priority are probably going to be misconstrued as homophobia. That is considering it isn't actually homophobia which if it is that's going to open a whole new can of worms entirely. I am interested in the arguments here but I just can't see this thread going well unfortunately.

This thread has been on the verge of being locked a couple times, but as you said, I want to wait and see if good discussion can come out of this, since not everyone is being immature about it. Likewise, criticism of the handling of LGBT characters isn't inherently bigoted in some cases, so we're trying to see if good discussion can be facilitated without allowing the actually bigoted comments, the trolling or insults, etc.

That makes sense and it's good that you mods are giving the thread a chance. I'd like to proven wrong but LGBT is still a pretty sensitive subject and while I don't believe many people here are genuinely bigoted or maybe even immature I get the feeling several users are strongly opinionated on the matter and they're probably going to react intensely to contention. Bicentennial Clementine
When everyone kept talking about Clem having a period telltale put it in I really hope they don’t make her bi just because of this thread
Isabela seemed to maintain her look though although she was only in multiplayer:
And Male Hawke from DA2 got butchered too which proves my point lol.
Well, considering they made her "badass" and had her determinately confess her love for Gabe...
