I think people are getting a bit ahead of themselves anyway they've only revealed one female character who is quote "hardened". Plus she is with a pack of boys and presumably the only girl so she may be a bit tomboyish.
Did they really put in the bit about her period just because people were talking about it (they were?)? Maybe they had already planned to address it since at 13 she would probably have already started and since the entire series, even ANF (we just experience it from another perspective), has been about Clem growing up in a zombie apocalypse, a girl getting her period is part of growing up and taking a look at what that must be like in a zombie apocalypse is interesting. They may have planned it all along. Or did someone at TT specifically say they only added it because people were talking about it?
Honestly what Im worried about this thread, during ANF Telltale added some of the "weirdest" things fans suggested instead of doing what fans suggested would make a better story. Let's not forget Clem X Gabe all started because of a meme so then Telltale went "lmao lets fuckin do that"
It wasnt planned all along, it was already confirmed that Telltale didn't have a plan past ep 1 and 2 and the script that was being worked on was being completely rewritten everyday. We all know Telltale was pretty much winging ANF from start to finish, but yes people for some reason really cared about Clem having a period for some reason so Telltale added it, it wasnt planned. (just like how episode 4 has that bonus Kenny and Jane flashback with updated models because of the backlash about how they were wasted and looked like shit)

Ok I have to say....for all of you complaining about her period being included, if you are not female...you have no say in this. It is a fact of female life and is a touchstone when talking about coming of age. I think it was important to include, I am just saddened it was put in ANF where psycho clem was a thing. ANF had many faults but not this.

Ok but there's a difference in "we have no ideas at all" and "we have no solid plan." Just because they didn't have a solid plan for how and when things were gonna unfold doesn't mean they didn't have a few things that they wanted to incorporate into the story at some point.
Like a list of things to work into the story somewhere
AJ is taken from Clem
Javi has to choose who lives and dies
Javi and David have a brawl
Clem gets her period
Kate wants Javi's D
They could have had a list of major bullet points, like that, that they were planning on working into the game at some point even though they didn't have the entire game story carved in stone yet. That's how collaboration writing works. People toss out ideas, they get added to a list. People vote on the best ideas. The list gets shortened, and the best ideas get incorporated into the story. Also, since they scrapped their original story for eps 3 4 5, who's to say they didn't have Clem's period worked in to the scrapped content so they just added it back into the new story?

I get what your saying. But that's not the issue. I understand that periods are important to female development irl, but that doesn't mean that it actually needed to be there, especially considering it had literally no long-reaching impact on the story itself. Sure it did lead into a flashback, but they could've found some other way to do it. If not they could've at least nerfed it slightly to make it less awkward.

It is awkward...it will always be awkward. Like I said...the problem I had with it was that it was in ANF which was a disaster...and they did not show her talking to Kate. It would have helped ease the awkwardness and could have in the right hands been a bonding moment(Which ANF lacked big time)

The entire series, even ANF through third party eyes, is the story of Clem growing up in the Zombie Apocalypse. TellTale themselves have said this at some point. A girl getting her first period is a big deal and once again, since the entire series is about Clem growing up in a ZA and a girl getting her period is part of growing up, her getting her period needed to be addressed. Maybe it's because I have a daughter that's been through it but I thought it was a really sweet bonding moment between Clem and Javi.

This thread has been on the verge of being locked a couple times, but as you said, I want to wait and see if good discussion can come out of… more this, since not everyone is being immature about it. Likewise, criticism of the handling of LGBT characters isn't inherently bigoted in some cases, so we're trying to see if good discussion can be facilitated without allowing the actually bigoted comments, the trolling or insults, etc.

Uh, ...wrong thread?
Just lock it

Lock it up! Lock it up!
Let's wrap this up folks
I need one of those to keep assholes from stealing my drinks lol
I think Hawke looks better in Inquisition than he did in DA2. (If you decide to customize his appearance.)
Not default appearance though but lol the customised characters in 2 were awful to begin with which is probably why they looked better.
The customization in 2 was kind of limited. I was pretty much able to duplicate my look from 2 and made it better in Inquisition.
If I may make an addendum to my previous statement:
The moment we start talking about straight relationships, this thread should be reopened. Seems unfair to talk about one and not the other.

Pretty much. I should get around to doing a proper writeup on that.
Also, I love how you call it a meme.
I'm gonna see if I can Retcon this in the fanfic version I'm working on.

That is true which ads up to the reasons on why this thread must fucking die.

You would honestly be doing this forum a service by locking it.
Just my two cents.
...so, it seems a lot of users are just suggesting that we go ahead and lock this thread. Any objections to me doing so?
Hey we seem to be having some substantive talks lately .....lol lock it.
