I agree, it's not just that I hate him, despite having so little reason to like him, but I wish they did more with him before that terrible choose between a character from the first two games and this nut. They set him up to fail so hard, and an overwhelming amount of people killed him, he didn't die like Nick but he was just as forgettable.
I see your point. His arc isn't perfect, yeah they should've given him more screen time to show it. But you gotta appreciate the fact that t… morehey gave him an arc! Only 10% of players saved him, it would have been easy to pull a Nick and just have him stand around for an episode than get eaten. But they actually went out and gave him good dialogue, gave him some memorable scenes, AND gave him an arc that only 2% of players will see through to the end!
Even if you don't think he got enough screen time after ep2 (to be honest I'm right there with ya) you have to remember it could have been a lot worse.
I disagree. In fact, he was probably my favorite and most memorable new character from the entire season. But hey, your opinion is your opinion
This is still the best scene in the game though.

Conrad went from homicidal maniac to "I don't who that guy was"
Well, when you put it like that...: lol:
Nah, but for real though, it's pretty much Grief spiced up with Vitriol with Clementine & Gabe, an initial dark common ground with Javier, and an aesop about getting to bent on revengeance.
I agree with you, but subtle is subtle, Conrad went from homicidal maniac to "I don't who that guy was"
Christa went from that moment to … moretime jump, we knew there was a period of time in there but she didn't really come off on one side or the other, she was indifferent but not so much that it felt out of character for her after S1
So as long as something could be worse than it is, that somehow makes it good? Conrad’s character points are a decent idea with terrible pla… morenning and follow through. But at the end of the day, Conrad is a shallow character who just so happens to be able to survive to the end of the season.
And I did read your synopsis before I posted, it doesn’t equate to a character arc, just your own head canon along with his bullet points.
Dont take my words out of context. I think his character arc is great, albeit not perfect. I simply referenced that to more or less explain why the small issues I have with his character exist. His character arc is simple. He goes through the stages of grief while trying to discover who he will be now that he has lost everything. Again just because they don't tell you everything that goes on in Conrads head doesn't mean the thought process doesn't take place. I suppose I can see where you're coming from, but it's pretty easy to figure out why he came back in ep 4 and why he had that change of heart in ep 2. A little janky maybe, but I think the writers respected our intelligence enough to be able to figure out what caused the change. I don't see it as lazy writing, I see it as clever, because it makes YOU think about why he's doing the things that he does.

Do I even need to say it?

No you don’t. Its a metaphorical neon sign pointing at it.
