Hey, mostlypoptarts (or any other TTG staff), can you give us a target release schedule?
We all know the first episode is dropping mid august, but can you give us what your target release schedule is for the other episodes? 1 per month? 1 every 2 months? 3 months?

We currently don’t have any target release dates for any other episodes. However, episode 1 releases August 14th on XBOX, PS4, and PC. It is also coming Late 2018 on Nintendo Switch.
It was also revealed that Telltale is aiming to finish the season before 2019. Keep in mind Telltale Games follows a release schedule of 1-2 months in between episodes. But this rule has been broken. (Such as in The Wolf Among Us episode 2 taking 3+ months and Minecraft: Story Mode episode 2 releasing in a matter of weeks after episode 1.)
I know when episode 1 is coming, mid august, like I said. And yeah, I know they've been flexible on their release schedule in the past, that's why I asked this. I remember being extremely annoyed at having to wait 4 months between episodes 5 and 6 of their GOT game and then having a giant fuck you ending that was impossible to win and no matter what you did the rival family won and all except for 1 (possibly 2) of the Stark 2.0 family died.
Telltale usually doesn't share/hint at release dates until super close before the Episode releases. Telltale has previously hinted that, alongside changing the amount of episodes in newer Seasons for future Telltale games (such as how Final Season has four episodes), they will also try and possibly experiment with how often they release episodes.
...so, to answer your question - nobody really knows. It's up in the air and Telltale is gonna probably experiment - not just with Final Season but with future Telltale games too.

It's not solid, but between the season premiere and the release of the Switch version, expect about 1 episode per month.
These are not the Poptarts you are searching for. ( Pretend that came with an awesome Jedi hand wave. ) If you are trying to reach @mostlypoptarts , they are in fact TTG staff. They remain the far more awesome, and amazing variety of poptarts on the forums - must be the addition ingredients that make them _mostly_poptarts.
They said it will be finished before 2019 so they can focus on Wolf. Given that...
Ep 1: Aug 14th
Ep 2: September 18th
Ep 3: October 23rd
Ep 4: December 11th
The reason for a delay on the 4th episode would be hype/Thanksgiving. I could see them releasing it on December 18th. But I am sure if they plan on finishing it before 2019, as they have said, they will delay the 4th episode as long as they can for hype and also for a possible holiday sale for Christmas since they can market that the whole season is done.
Obviously those dates are just guesses.
I see a couple comments state that they plan to conclude before 2019 which sounds good and bad. Bad far as in possibly glitch ridden episodes or sloppy storyline midway just like the same fate season two suffered though season three got ruined at the gate unfortunately. What would be cool is if the finale was targeted with such enough precision to be released on either Christmas ? or New Year's Day (both also Tuesdays since they are both holidays always precisely a week apart) which would flesh out the season a bit. More time to think long and hard about what they are doing while the season is going on before completion. The last thing needed is hasty last minute changes because the episodes deadline is too close. But that's not me advocating for 4 month wait times between episodes not to get it twisted.
I didn't even know you existed. I dropped the mostly to save time lol. Sorry for the confusion.
I'd take such a declaration as an indication that they are focusing hard on TFS and also that they have the story nailed down pretty hard without any real chance of it going into mid season rewrite like ANF and season 2 did. Both of those things together would allow them to have a pretty tight 4 to 5 week release interval without sacrificing quality.
Sounds about right but ep4 should come like after christmas, maybe 28/29
Pretty sure they can't give target releases because if they end up being wrong they can be called out on it and held accountable for misinforming fans and w/e.
What would be cool though would be them releasing "release timings" near to an episode's release. DONTNOD did it with with their most recent episodic games:
It's proof that it's not only possible to reliably give release timings for an episodic game, but also that a company may set up a worldwide release hour, across all platforms.
@mostlypoptarts, could TellTale do this with TFS and future games?
I don't think anyone expects them to give hard dates for anything but the first episode at this point, but they could say something like "our goal is 4 to 5 weeks between episodes. We make no promises to that because like in all aspects of life, sometimes unexpected things happen that could delay an episode, but that's what we're hoping to achieve." That would give us a rough idea of what to expect but because they gave themselves that "sometimes unexpected shit happens" out they aren't beholden to any kind of set in stone schedule.
OMFG THIS! I hate how Telltale releases episodes a day/days earlier in some countries and then the internet is just riddled with spoilers (especially YouTube).
Is it too late to possibly squeeze in a 5th episode? We don't know for sure what we're getting in all 4, but 4 episodes just seems odd. Don't mean to sound greedy, I'm just not sure of the endgame here. Can Clementine's & Shitbird's story be fully covered in only 4 chapters?
This is plausible.
If the season is finished before Christmas that would be awesome.
Can we expect a trailer before release with screenshots and promo picture? @mostlypoptarts
What LIS did was release episodes at the same time everywhere, like aussies wouldn't have gotten it 1 day earlier, everyone would've got it at the same time, can ttg do that too? It's the best way for everybody, so we don't have to avoid youtube, forums, etc for 1-2 days.
owo
@mostlypoptarts thanks, boo.
Huh... If I lived in any other murican time zone but eastern, which is where I live, Episode 1 would technically release on my birthday.
Oh. Wow. Nice. Simultaneous release.
Good job Telltale.
(Hopefully there aren't any season pass unlock bugs when it gets loaded onto the store)
I gotchu.
If there are, let me know!
Miss tarts, what do you do for TellTale other than occasionally post on the forums? In case it seems like it is, this is not a "WTF do you even do" post. I'm just curious what your job is and what it entails, aside from the occasional forum post.
Yeah I want to know that too.
My guess, spitting in the coffee of people stupid enough to ask her to bring them coffee.
HAHAHA, luckily I've never been asked to get anyone coffee in my whole career - even back when I was interning in college!
I'm a Community Media Manager, which is basically a funny way of saying that I am a hybrid Community/Social Media Manager. Most of my day is probably what you'd think -- keeping our social profiles active, hopping on the forums, talking to our forum mods. I also wrangle dev blogs, Reddit AMAs, Tumblr Q&As, help put together panels, keep a pulse on press/community, etc. Anything community facing like that (outside of the actual games themselves), I'm usually involved in. My favorite part of my job, though, is playing early versions of games and giving feedback
Oh, also emails. So many emails.
Ah ok. Cool. Thanks for answering.
Actually, another question, if you'll indulge me. How did you get such a job? I mean, what qualifies someone to be a social media manager? Did you have to already run some kind of successful facebook page or instagram or something or was it just a "hey we need you to run our facebook page and keep our forums in check and other stuff like that. You there, random woman, can you do that for us?"
It is definitely not the latter. I know you didn't mean offense, but I am a professional and have been working in social media for ~6 years. I got here through effective work and a lot of very kind people taking a chance on young me at the beginning of my career (it paid off!).
Of course. I didn't mean any offense. Sorry if it sounded that way, even though you said you know I didn't mean any. Still, sorry. Basically what I was getting at was is social media manager something one needs a degree in or is it something one could feasibly do with no special education, just a bit of luck (with opportunity) and skill.
Most jobs you don't really need a degree in, just work experience. I studied film in college but happened to focus on social media/marketing internships in entertainment. The internships and entry-level jobs are what let you advance, not necessarily your degree!
Hey...could you tell them not to kill Clem
No promises
That'd be a giant "fuck you" to the fans. I don't see it.
@mostlypoptarts Will TFS release on the 14th for PC on the Microsoft store? I saw something a while back where you guys said something about the game coming to the Microsoft store "soon". Just trying to figure out where I'll be ordering the game. Thanks.
Made me hurt so bad ?
I've already thought about her death.
spoilers if you want it to be a surprise. (I have not seen the leeks btw)
I would say that if Lilly is going to come back, like the choices were alluding to, the only way I could accept her death is if Lilly kills her. I know, it's a little shocking, but I'd rather have someone who we have trusted who has killed people in cold blood out of anger/spite than it to be from some stupid-ass walker bite.
