Lee in Season 4 - Hear me out.

edited August 2018 in The Walking Dead

This isn't a theory or "WHERE LEE YOU STUPID RASCALS OF TELLTALE?" thread, I'm not trying to find stupid ways to bring Lee back in Season 4 alive and well even though I'd love nothing more even if it includes bullshit plot twists;
if anything, It's a more of a unique way of Lee's appearance in Season 4, like the flashback in Season 2.

What if, in sticky situations Clementine has found herself in or dire situations where she is unable to think or know what to do; Lee would appear just like a hallucination in her mental state or she'd hear his voice in her head or like a physical appearance, attempting to guide her through or Clementine would think to herself what would Lee do, all the way to the end of Episode 4? Similar to a memory lane if you'd like to call it something sentimental, with Clementine narrating her entire story at Episode 4 or something too. If this was expanded upon, the same could be applied to the characters the people picked in the Story-Selector in the start of Season 4.

  • Wouldn't mind this, but it should only happen once.

Yeah and it should be at the end

Wouldn't mind this, but it should only happen once.

  • It seems kind of cheesy/corny, but I like the idea of it either way. But I agree with the above if it's going to happen only let it happen once, and it should be at the end of the game.

Say if Clementine is god forbid, dying, or something, that's when. Or she's in a dire moment at the very end, and she hears Lee's voice in her head. I'd prefer it to be a "she hears Lee's words of guidance in her head," rather than a hallucination.

But also, hallucinations aren't that uncommon so that could still work. In TWD show, when Tyreese dies, he's been bitten and he hallucinates a lot of things. So I think actually a hallucination thing could work if Clem is bitten, or just badly injured and in a bad state.

  • This idea reminds me an awful lot of how Rocksteady handled the Joker in Batman: Arkham Knight. I think that game really suffered from an over-reliance on that gimmick, so Telltale should be smart and save it for one poignant moment near the end perhaps.

  • Yeah, initially I thought it was a bit cheesy but as long as it isn't overdone or used in every moment; and executed right then I think it would be a nice idea.

  • I completely agree with you and I think something like that should happen. I think it would be very emotional

  • He already appeared in a dream scene in season 2, lets not overdo it.

  • No Lee in season 4

  • Why?

    No Lee in season 4

Because hes been dead for 3 seasons and weve already had one cringy dream sequence with the guy, just let him stay dead. To be honest I even hope clem stops bringing him up every five minutes like she did in season 2

  • That sequence wasn't cringey at all, in a game like The Walking Dead, I think the term 'cringe' is obsolete in many ways.

  • Good justification.

    No lee in season 4.

  • If you actually think that that dream was cringy then I think you are part of the minority of the minority of the players.

  • Im sick of hearing about lee at this point, hes dead im sick of them using him for a pity party every season. Not another pointless dream scene, theres already been one

    We're going off-topic, let's not.

  • Well it was really, it was there for "feels" or whatever it wasnt needed at all. Anyway emotionless for what a dream lee? I hate dream lee who thinks duck wont die from a walker bite fucking idiot.

I like actual lee who i played as but hes dead

And that's what The Walking Dead is. Feels. It was needed, it was a shock to many and did give off some emotions and 'feels', The Walking Dead is a game that always brings on emotions to the player, just look at Episode 2 of Season 2 with Kenny for example, or Season 3 Episode 5 where Javier and David fight.

Also, your 'dream Lee' also said when he was alive the same thing about Duck's bite, thinking he would still live on when, so that point is invalid.
Lee isn't a character that should be lost and left alone forever, his legacy should live on, he suits for that role.

  • It would be cool if Clem sees a dream of her own version of "Tenn's nice place" We could see old characters, her parents and maybe some serious foreshadowing...

  • If Lee’s coming back, he’s coming back once in Take Us Back as a flashback.

  • Yup, probably gonna be that flashback from Ep1 trailer

If Lee’s coming back, he’s coming back once in Take Us Back as a flashback.

  • I want Lee to appear in the sky like Mufassa.

  • I would love to see Lee in a dream, but with the actual graphics.

  • Refresh my memory?

Yup, probably gonna be that flashback from Ep1 trailer

  • In the start of the Ep1 trailer theres a flashback of Lee's last moments and then it jumps to sad face Clementine driving

  • Oh yeah.

From what I can remember, though, wasn't that while they were driving in the now-totalled car?

  • The last time i used google translate of a spanish title of take us back, There are 2 more titles.
"The return" And "He came back". Honestly i got shocked and teared up about the meaning at the translate. But ended up at "Take Us back"

Take note of it says "He" not "She", I can't think of any returning characters that is a dude from Season 1 excluding Kenny and Glenn, Kenny did appear in all 3 Seasons so I doubt he's returning.
