I like how the toy is where you draw the line here
Biting people? Okay
Hitting a dude in the nuts? Sure
Shooting people? Psssh
Taking another kid's toy? oh HELL NO
It bewilders me that people are forgetting that AJ is essentially the only reason Clem hasn't give up on the world yet.
Caring and raising for another human being gives fulfillment -- not burden -- to her life.
And more, it shows how Lee guarding her as a kid was incredibly instrumental and impactul on her, the way she is essentially mirroring his footsteps despite dying so long ago.
AJ is basically Clem is if Clem never had a childhood. He has all the markings of a hardened survivor but he's clearly still a goddamn child. I'm surprised people aren't more taken back of AJ's lack of an old-world social childhood than the act of him killing a person that was admittedly terrible. The former is the actual traumatization that leads to the latter action.

He went from 0 to amazing just with the first Episode.
Before this episode I was of the opinion that the story would be way better off by killing off AJ.
I can happily say that I was very wrong
You’re absolutely right. This first episode of TFS has revealed something to me, that I really hadn’t seen to be the case in past seasons— it’s that Clem feels SO guilty for what happened to Lee. I sensed her guilt when Louis asks if she ever had to kill someone she loves, and all of her answers just show how guilty she feels.
So maybe to Clem, raising AJ can be her trying to make amends for her causing Lee’s death to an extent— by carrying on his teachings, and making sure that this little boy makes it through a world that has taken everything from them.

I care about the little guy. He is quite likable and pretty funny at times I was not too pleased with his actions towards Marlon, it was not necessary. I hope that over the course of The Final Season he gradually comes to care about humanity and to be given the opportunity to act like a child for a while. It would be great for him
i didn't . feels bad sorry you had no one care for you maybe you find her some day you get married and have kids who might make you remember what were you saying about kids.

The more I replay episode 1, the more I like AJ! His drawing for Clem is so cute. He feels like he's her protector, it seems.
What a little devil little sweetheart
I can tell, he's going to be a world-class delinquent Role-model for the next generation.
Lol What why do you play the walking dead I mean season one you do literally just that
i was kinda indifferent to him until he tried to steal tenn's toy. now i'm plotting a way for him to get bit.

...It's not like i like him or anything...B...Baka!
It's not bringing fulfillment to my experience. I don't want him to be a thing anymore. That's why i'm going to kill him the first chance I get.
That makes no sense at all.
He's a cute kid I do like him more this season I hope I can guide him good.

AJ is CRAZAY. When I think of him, I think back to Negan calling Carl a "future serial killer".
He is ok, he just aims for the head.
Yeah but do you think Carl is/was crazy? I see both him and AJ as kids who see doing whatever it takes to survive.
