Larry is one of the best character in the series
I know he is the biggest piece of shit in the interior series, but that's why i think he is one of the best characters of all seasons.
The hatred between Lee and Larry was one of the best things whit season 1, every time you could call him a racist, threaten him or tell him to eat mark was great moments of the series and i wish you could have more of those.
The fact that he was still such a dickhead even if you are nice to him makes it so more enjoyable to hate him.

I don't have the best opinion on Larry, however I can see where his attitude came from and Lilly told us that during Episode 2.... "He's not a bad guy... He's got a lot of pain. He's been through so much and lost pretty much everything".
I do agree with you. He's one of the biggest self loathing old bitter pieces of rat shit i've ever seen. But that's what made him phenomenal story telling wise. He was believable in his fucked up way and it was subtle but annoying. As a player you actually grow to hate him which is hard to get. He was actually an amazing character.
Who hasn't lost everything though? Lilly defended the asshole because it was her dad but I don't think Larry had any more baggage. He even still had his daughter. Most lost their family already like Clem and she was a 8 year old girl. Hershel, Kenny losing duck and his wife. Larry had it made kinda.
Exactly, at least he still had his daughter. Lee lost his parents and had to finish off his brother. Others had lost contact with their family, like Ben, Carley, Doug, but none of them acted like a dick.

it had the most simple and normal people (perks of it is that they are so relatable) with only one goal: Survive the fall of humanity.. but were full of surprises, arcs and unique personalities.

There’re characters you hate, then there are characters you love to hate. Larry was the latter forsure. I always crack up when he whines “What happened to my food!?”, and when you catch him flirting with Brenda St. John.
Larry was unironically one of my favorite characters when I first watched Season 1, even if most of that is on Starved for Help.
