The Walking Dead Films - Clementine could appear?

  • Ah.

Well to screw with people mostly.

  • The thing is, in the game, everyone is just really 'immature' if that's the right word. I could only see Lee as a main Walking Dead character. No-one will agree with me, but in telltale's the walking dead you kind of just need to adapt to the new style of dialogue and stuff. Not saying it's cringe, but take Louis for example. If every part of his character were the same in the game when he would go to the comics/show, I don't think anyone would like him. Some would like his premise, the baseline of his character, but because of how stretched and exagerrated the actions and dialogue are in the game, I can imagine a lot of people would say he isn't realistic/doesn't match The Walking Dead. TFS is The Walking Dead: Teens Edition. The show and comic are just a lot more gritty and grounded and mature. So, aside from the obvious fact that Clem to some extent, but still an extent, can be molded and changed ever so slightly, at least from face-value dialogue/telltale choices, if Clem were to go to the show/movies, she'd need to change as a character relatively significantly, and I don't know how people would react to that. Then you've got how the voice would change (I'm not excactly fond of the voice but I know some people really like it) and how the look would change. It's basically like making an Anime character into a Live-Action.

  • Lol that's so fucking stupid.

Anyway i think we can all agree that Clementine should not be in those movies, because they'd somehow find a way to ruin her character.

No she's not ruined, yes ANF Clem was fucking edgy, but they didn't "ruin her character" actually i believe TFS really saved her character,we're actually PLAYING as Clem again, this is great.

But hey i'm talking to the guy who think the tv show is better than the games so you probably know better than me aha.

  • Ehm... what superiority of TV Series has to do with me thinking that ANF ruined Clem's character?

  • Sigh you're annoying.

Anyway,i don't know what to tell you, she's back to being the main protagonist again,we're taking care of AJ it's kinda like coming full circle you know ? Plus there's that Ranch stuff going on that i really want to know about so i'm hoping the pay off is worth it.

So yes that's great, even if ANF Clem was shit and ANF was shit in general it wasn't enough to ruin her character.

  • Think of Clem as an mama hen. Before, she used to be a really cool/interesting phoenix, but now she's just a lame mama hen. And she has a really cool plotpoint now! She needs to round up all the other chickens and roosters and one of the eggs didn't hatch, mama hen has locked up PTSD.

Does that sound very interesting to you? Would you bother? It's not really hype at all, playing as a mama hen is hardly something to be excited about. I'd much rather play and be a part of the Phoenix's storyline, it was what people could recognise. The Mama hen has one iconic aesthetic detail which just barely makes her the same character as the old one. Actually, every Season she's changed. She was first a chick, then in Season 2 she was a phoenix, in Season 3 she lost her powers, and in Season 4 she has her powers back but she's evolved yet again.

There are two things- premise, and execution. I know a lot of players are satisfied with Clem now. I'm not, but that's okay. I just wanted to show you a really horrible analogy that you'll probably shame because you have a superior opinion.

I could be wrong but didn't Kirkman say he liked the idea of keeping characters exclusive to whichever form of Walking Dead media they appeared in?
I think I can recall hearing Kirkman saying that he enjoyed the idea of having people play the game and get Clementine, while people who watch the TV Show get to see Darryl, and finally people who read the comics get to see Rick.
And to be truthful, I like that, putting a character such as Clementine into a form of media where she doesn't belong would damage her character, no matter how well those writers work. The reason why is because everyone has a sense of familiarity with the Clementine we know from the game Series, she is the "Canon" Clementine. Putting her onto a TV Show, which would be cool, would only damage her character.
There is a lot of roadblocks such as determinant paths and determinant Story points in her journey that prevent her from making an appearance on the TV Show or meeting Rick in the Comics, where a concrete backstory is needed. While she does exist in the Comic Book Universe, she most likely won't be meeting Rick at all.

Anything can happen, and I could be wrong, Kirkman could make me bite my tongue by including Clementine in Issue #190 or something, but he will have to jump through a lot of hoops and a lot of explaining to do if he were to add her into the Comics
