Gonna go on a bit of a rant just to vent for a bit. I'll spoiler tag it so that it doesn't take up space. It doesn't contain any actual spoilers for anything.
So the other day I was on Reddit (specifically r/movies) and saw that Disney released a character poster for their upcoming animated movie, Raya and The Last Dragon, featuring the titular character. I didn't really know much about it at the time but I could tell from the poster that the character design was clearly based off of South East Asian culture. Her clothes looked very Thai/Indonesian to me and I started getting excited, because I'm from Malaysia, which is in South East Asia and it's not very often that my part of the world gets a lot of representation in big Hollywood films. I think the biggest one was probably Crazy Rich Asians.
Usually it's Chinese, Japanese and Korean cultures that get representation, which is great of course, but I'd also like to see my neck of the woods pop up every so often. Which is why a lot of the people I know and I will point at the screen like Leonardo DiCaprio in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood whenever Malaysia pops up in movies or tv shows, no matter how small they are. Like in the opening of Venom which takes place in Malaysia. When me and a friend saw that we were marking out in our seats because we thought it was hilarious.
So anyway, I looked the movie up to find that I was right. Disney were taking inspiration from a number of different SEA countries such as "Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Laos," and the production team even travelled to a few of those places to do research. Not only that, but the film is actually being co-written by Adele Lim, a Malaysian-born woman who also co-wrote Crazy Rich Asians! I was getting pretty amped up!
Then I looked at the comments and was surprised to see that a lot of the comments were really uncomfortably racist. A lot of "ughh, pandering to the Chinese again rolls eyes." and "the Chinese are taking over Hollywood" comments. Just overall a lot of harsh "complaints" against Chinese and asian people in general. It wasn't a small discussion thread either. It had several hundred comments with many of them sharing the same sentiment. I was pretty disheartened by it. It made me feel that to a lot of people, all asians are Chinese and that no other asian cultures exist. Like the stereotype that all asians look the same. I know r/movies is filled with some pretty dumbass people, but damn, it was literally just a teaser poster for a family movie. There were a few people in there calling out others for being ignorant, which was great, but they were so far below the totem pole it's unlikely that they would make a difference.
At the very least it looks like the thread got deleted for the absurd amount of racism because you can't find it anymore. It's been wiped off the site. At least the mods did something right.
Alright rant over. Just wanted to get this off my chest.
The primetime Emmy nominations were just announced and Mr. Robot didn't get a SINGLE nom (apart from some weird "interactive extension of a linear series" thing). Not even for the non-televised awards for non-actors like cinematography, score, or other crew.

I'm so freaking mad right now.
here's the full list if anyone wants to check it out.
I want to be hopeful, especially since The Nice Guys was such a great movie, but I just don't see it. The first movie, while it made more than it's budget, wasn't a huge box office success. I'd love to be wrong because this movie doesn't get enough appreciation.
Don’t you just love it when you’re having a good time VR porn, but then the dickhead headset disconnects and blasts the volume via surround sound across the whole entire neighbourhood? Am dead inside 🙃🤡

For the first time in like 6 months, I'm finally leaving my house for more than an hour or two.
At the family cottage for the next week so that's a great change of scenery and air.
(Sidenote: I kinda wasted my Nintendo Switch Online trial. Subscribed to it yesterday, but now I'm away from civilization and a Wi-Fi connection. Buuut, at least I downloaded that Pokken Tournament Trial, so I can see if I like that game, right? Nope! You need to be connected to the internet to play NSO Trial games.
Everything's coming up Milhouse.)
I mean like I don't want to be disrespectful and break forum rules man but like that's really NOT normal. You should be getting therapy for help with your problem. Not sure if this was a copypasta or not. That shit in VR really can not be good for you.
Ha, you act like the thought has never crossed your mind before or that many, many people with VR’s haven’t tried it. Just so you know it was a curiosity thing, it is normal, and now there’s a lesson learned.

I don't really know porn, but to me I don't think people watching it is some "not normal -- therapy required problem". From what I've heard I thought it was just some internet-accepted fact that some people are, uh.... More inclined to look at sexual content for entertainment than others?
Definitely "different" I'd say but I don't think its a mental health problem. (But I'm not a psychologist or know anyone who actually watches that... stuff so I really don't know.)
Sorry for tarnishing your forum, Telltale with a weird NSFW? conversation

It can be though. Much like with alcohol, drugs, and various other substances and activities, people can easily become addicted to pornography and the consumption of it. And just like with other addictions, it can cause some serious physical, mental, and emotional problems in people, causing them to become reliant on it and become desensitized to other forms of sexual stimuli and their surroundings.

Welp, Melbourne has been put under a state of disaster and will be entering Stage 4 restrictions. Meaning "an evening curfew will be implemented across Melbourne from 8:00pm to 5:00am every day, starting tonight, forbidding anyone from leaving the home except for working, receiving or giving care. Melbourne residents will only be allowed to shop and exercise within 5 kilometres of their homes. While supermarkets will remain open, only one person from each household will be able to shop at a time, once a day."
Way back when, I was working in my college "snack bar", which had a large TV set that was playing some movie on a cable channel. The movie ended, and the next one was basically soft core porn. I had no authority to change the channel, so it just kept playing, and I was cracking up the whole time. Strangely enough, nobody mentioned it. Maybe they were worried about me.
Yeah I was thinking that stuff in VR would probably destroy your libido 10x faster than normal videos, I’m not sure how but his comment implied to me he was doing it actively so this was what I was trying to imply.
Also now that mods are gone this is now a nofap forum

Mods are NOT gone. The law is the law.
This is a weird conversation. Le… moret's steer away from it, before we get in actual NSFW or a debate about the use of such material. Like, come on.
Allow me to try and get this thread back on track and makeup for my prior contributions to this weird discussion.
There’s a golf course out on Long Island, NY called Bethpage Black. It has hosted several golf majors, including the US Open in 2002 (won by Tiger Woods) and 2009 (won by Lucas Glover) and the PGA Championship in 2019 (won by Brooks Koepka). It is considered one of the most challenging golf courses in the world, and one of the top courses in the country, playing almost 7,500 yards (6,800 meters for our metric system users) and littered with sand traps, steep hills, and deep rough. There’s even a notorious sign on the first hole tee box that reads “The Black Course Is An Extremely Difficult Course Which We Recommend Only For Highly Skilled Golfers.“ Despite its reputation and legacy, it’s surprisingly affordable compared to other courses of its caliber. Only about $60 for NY residents and about $150 for non-NY residents, and even then, it’s still cheaper than most other courses of even lesser pedigree.
Because of that, it’s difficult to book a tee time for it. However, the course does have an interesting way that allows people to come and play. Since it’s located in Bethpage State Park, the course allows golfers to camp out in their cars and sleep in the course’s parking lot to get a chance at getting an early tee time. Some golfers arrive as early as 6:00pm the previous day, as tee times are given out on a first come, first serve basis. Dubbed the Bethpage Inn, clubhouse staff will start knocking on windows and giving out tee times at 5:00 every morning to those who dared to make the trip.
I say this because I’m looking to do it myself in the next couple of weeks as a way to celebrate my 23rd birthday. It’s one of the courses on my bucket list, and if it means I have to sleep in my car just to get a tee time, then sure, I’ll do it. To get a chance to play a legendary course such as Bethpage Black, why the fuck not!
A bit late to this, I saw Metallica did an excellent job explaining just how addicting it can be, it's absolutely crippling for those who are addicted to it especially because of the expectations it can set in an individual, expectations that a significant other or a randomer may not be comfortable in doing. As Metallica also said, it also affects the stimuli, when a time may come when you want to do the deed, you may not be able to, as your brain is hardwired to be attracted to the turn-ons you look for in these sorts of videos.
It is also allowing some very questionable desires to fester in others, say you were to go onto one of those sites, and you see some very questionable eye-catching titles, your curiosity will get the best of you and what you may watch can be the beginning of an unhealthy fetish.
Then there's the effects it can have on relationships, it leaves a partner feeling like they aren't good enough to satisfy their partner, which can lead to divorce, pursuing of plastic surgery or severe mental health problems in the partner that feels they aren't good enough.
Finally, pornography portrays a picture where the male is the alpha, where the woman must submit and the man's desires are met while the woman is an object simply used as a means for the man to pleasure themselves, it leaves women feeling that they must please their man first and foremost, that rubs off on the person consuming that content.
It taps into our animalistic urges and unbeknownst to us, it gives the impression that sex has to be that way.

I'm so hyped after seeing this trailer.
I want more AAA horror games. I am sick of open-worlds, RPGs and battle royales.
The only battle Royal games that are only great are PUBG and COD tried the rest and didn't fit my needs sadly.
Every Battle Royal I've tried is of of fortnite element.
It's best if they stick with realism and a zombie battle Royal game.
Can't wait for the series premier.
