Over $50 and still being charged shipping

I added the Holiday pack today and another item to my cart, bringing it above $50 so I could get free shipping on the Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse + Collector's DVD. But when I added the DVD into my cart it raised the price by $20. (shipping)

The DVD is supposed to be free and the postage is supposed to be free. Will it still charge me that 20$ after I go into checkout?

I need a prompt reply because I really don't want to miss this deal. Thank you.

Also, it's been 4 weeks and I still haven't received my order #600083874722758. ...Just throwing that out there.

What's the other item? I'm asking because I just tried to proceed to checkout with the Holiday Pack, The Book of Grickle and The Devil's Playhouse DVD and shipping was free for me (to the USA).
Poster prints do not qualify for free shipping, but everything else should.
Not sure you will get a reply from Telltale today as it is Sunday.

What was in that order? Has it shipped already?
A few items in the store are currently backordered, so that might be the explanation.

The items were the Holiday pack, Sam & Max case file and the free Sam & Max DVD. On the free dvd it usually says it's "$0.00" but I have to pay the postage, which is what it keeps adding onto my cart whenever I add it.

I figure it must be some kind of bug or something since the postage is supposed to be free.

    Poker Night at the Inventory
Sam & Max: the Devil's Playhouse Poster Print (signed)
Sam & Max Season Two Case File

It says it shipped on the 5th of November.

It must be some kind of weird bug since I tried the same combination of items (including the free DVD) and it offers me free shipping whether i try to have it sent to me in California (free - USPS First Class Mail), or to my brother in Belgium (free - USPS First-Class Mail International).
As a matter of fact, I even get free shipping WITHOUT including the case file (which, iirc, is the same situation as back in March when people got free shipping just by buying the Tales of Monkey Island Deluxe Edition for $49.95).

If it was shipped to somewhere in the USA, you should have received it long ago (and you should have a delivery confirmation number on your Your Games page that you should be able to track at USPS.com).
If it was shipped to another country, the delivery confirmation number is pretty much useless and shipping can take 6 to 8 weeks.

Weird... I hope I get a reply from support soon then so I can fix this.

Also, I just noticed when I go to the free DVD page it says:

It doesn't look like you own any episodes - if you already own The Devil's Playhouse, log-in to claim your free disc. If you don't own it yet, you can still buy the full season at a special price today and claim a free DVD!

But I am logged in and it still lists it as me only paying "$19 (for shipping)". Not sure if that has anything to do with it, because it's still listed for free. I dunno, it seems to be adding the shipping price to the item price instead.

I live in Australia, last time I bought something from telltale it took 4 weeks to get here, so I guess I shouldn't worry for another week or so.

It's really weird since I buy stuff from America all the time and it never takes as long... where does the package go for 4 weeks?

For example I buy something from the Steam store: $20 shipping postage and it gets here within a week.. 2 at most.

Ebay: $5-$15 from America and it gets here within 1-2 weeks.

What's Telltale doing to make it take 4 weeks? I'm not trying to complain or anything, it's just something I've always wondered.

It's not so much Telltale as the postal service that's the problem.
Frankly, transit times with the postal service are one of the most random things I've ever encountered.
I buy stuff from the UK all the time and packages shipped from the same company can take as little as 5 days or as much as 5 weeks to reach me, even though the service used is exactly the same.
Another time, a package shipped to me from the USA (Illinois) reached me one week later than a package that had been shipped from the same place a week after the first one!
So, I wouldn't worry just yet about the package if I were you, but if you haven't received anything in the next couple of weeks, you should e-mail Telltale at support@telltalegames.com.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about the package yet, but I really want to get this working. Come on, Telltale, I really don't want to miss this deal.

This is what's happening at the checkout:

That $19 is supposed to be the "shipping".

No. The $19.95 is the current price for the game if you try to add it to your cart from this page instead of this one, or maybe if it does not detect the fact that you already own the downloadable season.
It has nothing to do with shipping.
If you can't get it for free from the second page I linked and are using the account through which you purchased the downloadable season (and have yet to order the DVD), something is definitely wrong and you should e-mail support.

Yep, I did get it from that page. I don't think it knows that I have all of the Sam & Max games already. I emailed support yesterday. (Issue-39763)

Hopefully I'll get a reply soon.

No reply to the email I sent 4 days ago or to this thread.

What the hell, guys? Seriously, I'm always throwing money at you and the support is non existant.

I don't need random users coming in here white-knighting to tell me it's not their fault.
I'm gifting these games to someone for christmas and all I want to do is order my own DVD simultaneously, except it wont take the free postage into consideration. I wouldn't usually be so pushy, but this deal is probably going to end soon and I don't want to miss it... It shouldn't take so long to get a reply anyway.

I hate pissy customers and I've never actually been one until now, but this just sucks.

    Quick question.
Did you already purchase The Devil's Playhouse (the downloadable version) or are you only just now buying it as part of the Holiday Pack?
If it's the latter, you will probably not be recognized as owning the game until you place the order for the Holiday Pack and you will have to order the DVD separately in order to get it for free (additionally, you will probably have to follow the instructions in this post).

I own all of the episodes already, the pack is a gift to someone else. As long as I can order the DVD and the pack I'm dandy.

OK, that's pretty much the end of my "random user" expertise. ;)
My final suggestion would be for you to post your ticket number in this thread, which appears to be more closely monitored by Telltale than the others.
    Good luck!
  • edited December 2010
Ask Support to reduce the price. It's not 'for shipping', the site just can't register that you already own the Devil's Playhouse.
  • edited December 2010
It DOES say free shipping there, you know. If the shipping wasn't free, that part of the page would also have a price written on it.

Alright, I'll try that. Thanks for helping with what you could, I appreciate it.

    Ask Support

I've been doing that for 4 days, bro.

Says it doesn't see that I have them.. but then it goes ahead and says that. I don't even...
