Wedding was pretty meh to be honest.
My Parents insisted on watching it.
Heck, even my little bro was watching it.
I watched most of it, but once the actual wedding part was done, I went back to guitar practice.
I wonder how many more posts I would have made if I followed through with every post I've started writing instead of deleting what I wrote and moving on. Like I almost did with this post. Should I really care about the quality of what I write when most of what I post probably only gets a cursory glance. But then that's not surprising as what I generally write is tosh.
Hey man, I don't just give your posts a cursory glance, you're one of my favourite people on this forum.
P.S. Screw the Royal wedding. Who even gives a flying fuck about those over-privileged, inbred arseholes. Never mind the fact their stupid wedding has caused my local pharmacy to be closed for the day; goodbye anti-depressants, hello darkness, my old friend.

Same here actually, it's my day off so I ain't getting up before noon. I caught the flyover with the jets and the silver fox of daytime tv Phillip Schofield waving at himself on telly.
Kudos Pants..for talking about something that's actually important and not about two people tieing the not.
I don't know. It is pretty important, as she'll one day be queen.
Personally, I watched it, and quite enjoyed it, as I'd never seen a whole wedding before (just snippets on various TV programs). Which may seem odd, but no-one in my family has gotten married for quite some time, and my friends are all too young. And my mums friends are either married or divorced.
Also the shuttle launch would have been nice to watch, although it isn't that important. Apart from it being the last voyage of a shuttle (seemingly identical to the other ones) it's reasonably routine.

I'm with coolsome on this. It's a meaningless title that does nothing.
As for the shuttle launch? That is important. Earth won't last our species forever. Once our resources are gone or a cataclysm hit the planet, we'll be glad of / wish we had spent more on our space exploration efforts. We're going to need to live up there some day.
I still don't see how it matters since its a powerless title.
Well, it's a cultural thing. The media are bang on about the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana reasonably frequently, and it's an important historic event.
Plus, it's nice to see where our taxes are being spent. TBH, i'd rather watch something like this than the olympics (the nearest expensive event I can think of), for example. At the end of the day, that doesn't matter either.

But is it anymore important than the other shuttle missions? Or the work that has been done in the space industry for decades? I agree it is important, but the fact that it is the last mission of one particular vehicle isn't any more important than the 15th (to the public at large, at least). It's just a bit more likely to blow up, that's all.
I'll concede that the media has gone way overboard with the coverage, but the wedding is a major national event. Just in terms of security, and crowds and stuff.
There is an endless list of things that money could be better used on.
Well, you could argue that the money on the wedding has more than payed for itself with all the souveneirs that have been sold, and the increase in tourism.

This is what I keep telling my mom. She's still of the opinion that manned missions are a waste of time and resources and don't provide as much information as a satellite probe or a rover. But space is the final frontier and all that jazz and someday we need to go out there.
Also, I really want to go on a vacation to Mars someday. Actually, anywhere in space would do.

Me too!

Is the Royal Wedding more important then any other wedding.
Well, that's like comparing a shuttle mission to a T-mobile satellite launch. Both use rockets and involve trips to space, but are important to different types of people. One is of national importance, the other of importance to a small segment of t-mobile customers (think bride/groom/family/friends)
Anyway, I get the feeling the debate is just going to go round in circles. So i'll finish with this: If 80p a year from me is enough to help maintain the national identity, then I'm okay with that. Afterall, every country does it in someway. Like independance day in the US. Inevitably a large expensive and ultimately pointless (now) event. Plus, I'd rather have money like this:
than this.
Actually, I prefer the old one! I figure if you're going to make it look bland, then you may as well make it look a little historic. Plus the new note looks like monopoly money. Sort of.

My family's watching it and joking what would happen if a bee went into duke's daughter's net? XD

I think that's a blind guy someone decorated for the occasion.
He's not an ass-hole, He just tries so hard to be ...
Disclaimer: Said that just so that he will friend me on facebook after I'm gone

Thank YOU for caring about something important.

We'll have to coordinate schedules so we can get on the same Mars flight.
...Just thinking in advance.
This is an old twenty dollar bill. We have slightly prettier ones now.
Well...okay...very slightly.
Not as cool as australian dollars at any rate!
That's the spirit! We totally had the Third Doctor as President once! Boy was that an awesome term!
Edit: those australian dollars are amazing. I love how australia doesn't even pretend to be a serious country.
Edit #2: Just gone onto telltale blogs and main page. Can't quite tell why they were just down...
BttF ep4 is there so...definitely that. At least the site wasn't down as long as the last time.
