Go on Wikipedia or TT's games catalogue. They've released all those series episodically since 2005 and it's all been on a (roughly) monthly basis. They haven't needed to remind everyone it's on a 4-6-week basis. Their loyal fanbase knows. That's why assumptions are made and it has to be made clear if there's any break in that trend. Saying there's no delay without an ETA is splitting hairs. You build up a loyal fanbase by reputation. That reputation is losing ground.
People are also upset because TT isn't like other companies. It used to communicate a lot more with its customers. Employees were encouraged to converse with us on the boards. They used to hold competitions. Their commentaries used to reveal more about the development process than any other company would allow us to see. We felt like one big family. Telltale were special and they've lost that in recent times. They've put up this curtain, like all the other companies do. It's no wonder their loyal fans are upset.

Steam sales and sales within TT store. If we buy now, that's longer TT have our money in their current account, to accumulate interest. We buy now 1) to experience the game as soon as we can and 2) support our favourite developing house. 1 isn't as soon as usual and that leads to dwindling faith that impacts on our willingness for 2.

I know. I'm new to Telltale so that's the first thing I did. And since I didn't buy episode 1 until after Thanksgiving I though I might only have to wait a week or so before I could continue to episode 2. Ive read about how Telltale used to be, people on here have made me very aware about recent changes. The thing is, we do not know what is going on. I agree, 100% they're fault. couple of weeks ago you could see TWAU in the steam store with 33% off, im wondering how much this game will cost in next year? last episode shall be released before summer, as TT said. Steam sales happens 4 times per year (if i remember right). That's all, you save nothing.

Now with them gearing up to do the Borderlands and GoT episodic games next year, how long til they get around to chapter 5 of Wolf Among? Already bought season pass for this so I'll just have to wait it out. But now their future games, I'm just going to wait til they put them out and pick it up in 1 swoop as it seems they are stretching themselves thin.
I had the same experience. I will in the future strive away from season passes and just get the whole thing in one go. waiting 3 months between episodes completely takes you out of the immersion. At least I know I will have forgotten a lot about the characters and such,

There wasn't even any real reason to buy the season pass before the release of episode two. It's not like it's a limited time special offer that had to be purchased immediatly to get the $5 discount.
Well, this sucks. I got this as a gift from a friend. I would have told him to hold off if I'd known the game isn't finished. There's nothign on the main website to even suggest that there's going to be that long a wait. Now, I'm not saying a company shouldn't have the option to release games this way, but I think the customer should be able to get enough information to decide where they want to play an episodic game or wait for a whole one.

I absolutely loved the game, and for quite a while I was constantly obsessed with finding out when the new episode would be released, that was around three months ago. I'm not complaining about the fact that I bought the season pass and I've yet to play the second episode, no. I'm disappointed due to the fact that the choices I have made no longer have substantial meaning anymore.
For the first month or so, I was constantly thinking what could happen in the next episode and how it was going to tie together, albeit now I just seem to have lost that spark, and I'm not so sure replaying it will instantly bring back the buzz I got when I first played the game. My choices seem so distant, hell, I can hardly even remember them all. I mean, I'm fine with delays, but I would absolutely love communication from Telltale, as so far, all we've gotten is;
'Alright guys, we dont know what the fuck is happening or when this game will come out, but we might have an idea of when it will come out after Christmas'

It is definitely disheartening that they currently give 0 shits about TWAU. All I see from them is TWD S2 stuff or nothing. I mean, I love The Walking Dead, but to literally drop everything, including a series that has had its first episode released already, just seems messed up.

You're being over dramatic. They aren't "baiting and switching." There was never a set schedule. Even if they were, they have finished almost a dozen seasons without "baiting and switching," and it would be just as bad for them as it would be for us if they did so since the whole point of what makes Telltale work is that people can trust them to finish a series. Episodes are typically released monthly or bimonthly, but they don't announce release dates until shortly because they have to confirm release dates with other platforms.
I think that's being a little over dramatic. Telltale has entered into some sort of vast agreement with the likes of Warner Bros, DC entertainment and Vertigo to make a game based on the high selling, award winning series Fables. You don't just dump all of that just because you've bagged a lucrative license to make a Game Of Thrones tie in.
They've given us a video to tie in with the ios release that confirms that (a): TWAU exists and (b): It's something that they're still supporting
They're just...taking a little longer than normal. I remain insanely convinced that delaying episode 2 ever so slightly is part of grand and awesome plan to have Walking dead one month and Wolf the other month until they both complete. That way then both titles can stay as bimonthly releases but Telltale still has a high profile release every month all the way up until summer, thus clearing the way for a GOT release come next christmas.

The fact that Telltale didn't follow their intentionally vague plan to release episodes within a loosely defined period is no real fault of theirs. Well, it kind of is but they didn't enter into a legally binding agreement with us about it.
The four games aren't going to be released simultaneously. They aren't going to release the two newly announced games until next year at the soonest. They haven't even begun full work on them yet. They're just in the concept stages now. This is very usual for Telltale. They have many plans in progress with a very small team with a handful of people that just sorts out the basics like general storyline and concept art, and then when they are ready to start full production after their other series end, they get a larger team together.
They announced 5 games in 2011, and all of them have been released except for King's Quest (which was out of Telltale's hands as the license was pulled from them by the license holders). And there's no chance of the license being pulled for The Wolf Among Us, since they are already in the middle of production, and licenses can only be revoked when the game hasn't been produced for years. A two to three month period between episodes is nothing to worry about, especially when the episode is in constant production.
Also remember that it sometimes takes Telltale a little longer to release episodes between the first and second episodes when they are trying out new gameplay mechanics. It took 7 weeks and one day between the first and second episode of Back to the Future: The Game, and it took 8 weeks and two days between the first and second episodes of The Walking Dead. It is a little longer this time, but as you can see the length in the wait between the first and second episode of Back to the Future and the first and second episode of The Walking Dead increased as well.
There's no cause for concern, as this waiting period between the pilot and second episode is very normal.
