Lol.. Yeah.. It must have taken them a lot of time to press print screen on the keyboard and edit paste it in paint..
I don't know if I wou… moreld of had the energy to 'save as' jpeg and upload it.. Now that's customer service!
And they TOTALLY answered all of my questions and concerns with yet another vague ETA about another ETA a month from now..
Thank you for the clarification and the update. We all, like you, love Telltale Games, but we are frustrated at having spent money and getting the silent treatment. I hope this community doesn't become swamped with negativity when people just want to get things off their chests.
It shouldn't fall to you to clarify these things when Telltale has a team of PR people failing to do their jobs and communicate properly. We can handle development delays because game development throws up all sorts of challenges, but it's the silence of the PR and Marketing teams that's really causing ire among your customers. They have a simple job to do, which is to communicate effectively, and they've failed.
Guys, just an update from the (voluntary) mod squad here, because the last thing we want is to suggest censorship on this forum.
We're gett… moreing a lot of new members this weekend who are making entire new threads about the release date and lack of communication. We usually would have merged these threads into the release date thread to preserve these statements, but unfortunately the new forum's present tools do not allow merging the first post of a new thread into another.
To keep discussion about the game and not its release schedule possible, and to not let the entire forum overflow with negativity and - certainly justified! - anger, we will have to close these threads.
I'd like to add that I am often impressed with the calm and reasoning of these new threads and new and old members. I do not only respect these opinions, I share a lot of them as well.
I can't say how high up in Telltale's command chain we would have to search for that communication bottleneck, but I strongly believe it's not in the PR department. The TTG employees I've seen working with the community during the last years were all excellent people, highly competent and very eager to get info out there, regardless whether it was Alan and Mike yesterday or Laura today. They're saying whatever they can say.
Then again - working in a PR related field in real life and in fact in a PR agency - they certainly have my sympathy and understanding for their difficult job to begin with.

I'm not trying to blame specific people. I didn't mean for my message to read that way. What I am saying is that their PR team could easily release a statement along the lines of: "We're sorry for the lack of updates. Here are the issues we're facing and this is what we're doing to remedy them. We can't offer a release date just yet because of X and Y and we don't want to promise something in case something else goes wrong, but we will keep you updated." I can appreciate the tough job all of the Telltale Team are facing (from development to PR). Job and Laura seem like great people who are working hard, but more interaction and communication would only benefit them... Even if it's just to say, "We f-ed up." Communication is key. They shouldn't be afraid of us seeing being the curtain.

Last TT projects (TWAU and TDW2) were announced only for x-box 360 and PS3, so answer is no, you will be able to play only on your old x-box. Maybe later in 2014 they will port it to the new consoles, but not yet.
I know this is unrelated but If I was to get a Xbox one could I keep switching between 360 and the one and it won't mess up my game saves ? PLEASE HELP
if you dont wanna see negative feedback, you'd better bring some offical faces to the forums. All we hear is "coming soon", "update is near", … more"we're working hard". That's bullshit. As result we got only few cheap screenshots. And since we already paid for the whole games, TT doesnt have stimulus to do their job quick and in time, so our impatience should be understandable.
we're not discussing release date, we're discussing lack of communication, simple respect to customers and those troll screenshots they called "update".
I love both games but I wish they had updated TWAU page too.Since there are two teams working on each game,I don't see what could prevent them from giving us a concrete release date.If at this stage they still have no idea on when episode 2 is going to be released,I think that there must be a HUGE problem somewhere.
Come on, now! We learned that the strip club is named Pudding and Pie, which means that the pimp is probably Georgie Peorgie! Okay, we knew th… moreat already from the teaser at the end of episode 1, but...Hey, look, a topless woman! Bet you didn't think we'd see those!...Except we did in the teaser.
Well, uh...Hey, Bigby's going to be in Episode 2! Did you know that? I sure didn't. Or, hey, maybe that's not even Bigby! Maybe it's just a person with a similar build and clothes! Telltale, you sure know how to keep us guessing!
I agree with what was said, but at the same time.. Communication only takes you so far.. I think they failed on many other levels then that.. They took on more then they could handle.. Didn't do enough work ahead of time to get in front of any possible problems that would arise. Just not enough professional forward planning. As in part, what I said in a post previous.. If all they change is 20% based on customer input.. Why not complete 100% of the episodes prior to release due to the fact that they have a basis for story already.. Thus leaving only 20% to work on.. Or leave those areas empty and post poles engaging and directing the communities input.. "do you like this, or this?" "what do you think of this" "is this a fun idea".. That would garner customer appreciation, as they would better feel their voice is being heard, and that the staff is then more involved with the customers.. Would more involvement from them, if just to talk amongst ideas, not be appreciated? Definitely not the feeling we have now from the lack of any real interaction or information, let alone the episode itself.. And if it is just gathered from customer input on the boards, or w/e.. That can still be done.. They would just have less to work on during the RELEASE PERIOD if they did most of the work in the development period.. That way they could have monthly releases, rather then 3-4 month periods.. Enough time to discuss it.. With time to make alterations.. Definitely giving them a grace period for if some sort of problem arose.. And of course.. Keeping the customers informed best they can as mrmetacrisis stated above is just good manners and it would show some level of professionalism that is clearly lacking.. Bottom line.. They can still do all the things that make it telltale, just needs better planning skills, and to release when they are able to keep up with demand/monthly infusions.. They are just not, at present, able to handle two titles.. Case and point the following delay.. Higher new, more capable people; or if the job is done well, and work is too much for them.. Higher more people.. do some rethinking.. But this is an epic fail thus far.

And if they did take the road of full completion before alteration, and not one of the other options listed above.. They could bring on a DLC package of what 'was' before said alteration was implemented from that of customer input.. Thus granting a sort of bonus play which takes a different view on some events of play.. If anything that would be an additional source of income to go with any already planned DLC releases.

Closing them is understandable. As you say.. To keep the forums from filling up with "justified anger and negativity"
I don't think you hav… moree to worry about censorship, you only closed them. People can still read if so inclined.
Maybe post a sticky or something to advertise that the rest of the forums outside of this topic be for game "play" discussion only?
Stop complaining jesus christ

That should be awesome but it's coming in 2014 to so that worries me. It seems like they're having problems keeping up with TWAU and TWD season2 at the same time now they are gonna try another new one? I'm hoping for the best but I'll be waiting until all the episodes are out before I buy another Telltale game. Gotta admit I thought that announcement was gonna be Game Of Thrones so nice one Telltale I was definitely surprised! Despite the whole TWAU wait and lack of communication frustration they are doing some really great games right now and I look forward to playing them all. Good Luck Telltale!
we're not discussing release date, we're discussing lack of communication, simple respect to customers and those troll screenshots they called "update".
Amazed that Telltale are announcing new projects when they can't even keep up with current commitments to customers who have already paid for a game. Furthermore, the fact that resources are clearly available but being allocated to other projects, whilst TWAU seems to be in a relatively indefinite developmental limbo, just adds to the frustration by demonstrating that Telltale don't actually give a damn about even trying to stick to their proposed release schedule of 4-6 weeks; they've already made their money out of those of us who were suckered into buying season passes- now that we've served our purpose, we're obviously irrelevant.
The problem with an apology is that they (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) never actually said the game would be releasing at month long intervals. We just assumed they would because of telltale's past releases, which were still sporadic at times.
It's obvious with the VGX and TWD S2 that TWAU is (unfortunately) NOT telltale's major game series at the moment. And they are perfectly justified, business-wise, to be focusing on TWD, because S1 was named GOTY. I do wish they would give us more news, and of course I wish Episode 2 was out now. But I would also like if TellTale would do two series at one time, and have alternating months. The situation is what it is, and at this point complaining about it obviously isn't going to do anything.
I'd rather it be released in a timely fashion, with a sense of professionalism towards customers being of greater presence.
Namely.. Informing us of what is going on; along with a well deserved apology for how things have been handled thus far.
That's not how you can see these announcements, frankly.
Especially from the completely bland Game of Thrones trailer, you will see that they haven't even finalized some of the in game models for that game. Earliest possible design stage. There's nothing happening in those two completely new franchises that would draw away human resources from The Wolf among Us.
Episodic series are always an act of trust of the customer. They're not 'irrelevant' once they have paid, because they're supposed to come back to buy the next game of course!
The TWaU release hiatus and the lack of communication are anything but satisfying ... but these new announcements have NOTHING to do with that.

It sort of has everything to do with these new announcements. After the success of Walking Dead season 1 they are now involved in four concurrent projects. I am not sure how big their development staff is, but it's obviously affecting the release dates of their other titles. I purchased a season pass day 1, expecting them to keep up with the dates. I had a season pass for Walking Dead Season 1 as well. It's unfortunate, and while I understand that these projects take time, it's obvious to me that they may have chew off more than they can bargain with. I don't see why you are so ignorant to that.
I'll still wait. I mean, I have the season pass, so when it comes out, it's simply downloading and installing. However, I may think again when it comes to buying a season pass again, this is sort of annoying. I'll probably end up just waiting for them to release all episodes first, then buying the complete collection.

First of all, they have only just announced these licenses and that's it. They can begin to seriously work on TotB and GoT only after both their present series have concluded and still make late 2014 as the release date for the first episodes.
Second, this statement disregards Telltale's history a bit. The same kind of announcement was made for five new franchises at once in February 2011, while another Season was still running, and no one ever got even the slightest idea that future projects would in any way infringe on the present ones.
The question indeed is if Telltale can manage two Seasons concurrently, but if you're looking for answers as to why there is a three month gap between episode one and two of The Wolf among Us, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the completely normal acquisition and announcement of future projects has next to nothing to do with it.
If Telltale started looking for and hyping new franchises only after the conclusion of their present series... well, helloooooo bankruptcy.

it's a marketing technique this way you cannot wait to play the game, so you pay for it and you don't event wait for steam sales... You'll se two weeks after the new episodes release season pass will cost 12$. But the games are great and that's a cool evolution for point and click... let's pay for it!
I love both games but I wish they had updated TWAU page too.Since there are two teams working on each game,I don't see what could prevent them… more from giving us a concrete release date.If at this stage they still have no idea on when episode 2 is going to be released,I think that there must be a HUGE problem somewhere.
So much hate against Telltale here ! Sounds like you guys would actually lynch them and rape their kids !
We're talking about only a few mo… morenths here : Duke Nukem Forever was delayed fifteen years, so how do you fucking dare complain ?
And would you rather have a game full of bugs, glitches and aids and that would make your console explode and set fire to your house ? Is that what you want ?
And by the way, if you're so eager to play next episode it means that you have absolutely no life and live in your basement, and are probably virgins too - also on welfare.
You're so lucky Telltale even condescend to provide you with wonderful screenshots that should keep you entertained for two weeks (each), you ungrateful bastards.
I'm really curious to see what they are going to do with Game of Thrones since I can hardly imagine making a point and click game out of an heroic fantasy universe.I would've rather expected an rpg action game. But I hope that the story is going to be great.Anyway I really hope that it won't be a reason for them to delay TWAU and TWD.
I must say, that I agree with Vain.
I cannot see any connection with the delay and the announcement of future projects.
The problem is most likely, that TTG is trying to run 2 projects at the same time. But I for one like the fact, that they are actually trying. The whole idea of having an episode every month (TWAU and TWD every second month), sounds really good to me. Yes they have problems with it right now, but if the result is, that they get it together in the first few months of 2014, I think it is worth it.
However lack of communication is still an issue, I have a hard time accepting.

I'm not surprised. They were just as terrible at giving updates and providing a timely release with season 1 of TWD. Before TWD they were great at giving an episode a month and then it all went downhill. You'd think after that they would've gotten better again, but clearly not.
If episodic series are an act of trust, now i learn to not buy nothing until their final release: there're not pros for that, instead wait for a lower price and a complete game.
Sorry, Telltale: i give you so much trust, but you failed; no more episodic games at day one
That's not how you can see these announcements, frankly.

People are pissed off for the lack of communication and of course for the delays.
You also don't understand a thing: with games like Watch Dog of South Park, you have just to wait; it's annoying, but you can pass through.
With TWAU (or TWD season 2) you paid early to play with: this fact makes all the wait much more frustrating
Hi. I'm new in this community and I come from Italy so, please, forgive my english. I've bought the season pass not from much and i'm still wa… moreiting, as you are. I think that all this frustation, this anxiety, is wrong. Really. Haven't you all got a life? This people (TellTale staff) are working people, not our slaves. There are many others games that really make me mad....Years to wait, release dates cancelled, and, from Italy, no one who can help you....but hey, i've chosen to play. Simply. Okay two or three months are passed by, but the game have to be released, no? When? When it's ready o when every single person that have buy it, is became mad. In the end, why simply we don't ask, all toghether, if they (TellTale staff) can make a much longer episode? Why we don't propose something? Thanks all.

The answer is "Periodically".
And, if Ep2 will be released in 2014 it means we'll get a new episode each year!
Wow! We'll finish the game in 2017!

Most of this thread is about the radio silence, despite the title, so my argument still stands.
So Game of Thrones, alright!
Well there's Game Of Thrones and also in 2014,that's a lot of projects at once!
Maybe time to remind people in what year The Wolf among Us was ORIGINALLY meant to release...
They're finishing what they have on the plate right now before they're off to new shores, I'm sure of it. ESPECIALLY TWaU of course.

Never leave home without it:)
I was being ironic, I thought this was obvious...
It was a parody of the answers we get from some users when we state our disappointment at the postponing of episode 2.
I don't give two s--ts about new screenshots, I wanted a release within the week.
