Did you guys take this item from the house? *Possible Spoilers*

  • I didn't see the watch but when I play again I will for sure take it.

  • I'm felling pretty sure Clementine would do something about that, Really don't know what the hell is the point of that watch, Maybe If its a Item that later on the group was gonna need, Clem could just sneak up and put the watch back?

  • I left it... seemed way too much like a trap (I figured they'd be pissed at her for stealing the medical supplies, would maybe search her, and then finding the watch would be really bad).

Also, since the Wardrobe was locked, I figured that room was Carlos' (and the locked cabinet was medical supplies). So, since I already threatened his daughter (to get the peroxide), I figured it was best not to tick him off any more than I already had.

  • You can keep track of someone's heartbeats with a watch, and it can be used as a compass too.

Neither did I. What good is a watch anymore? It has no value to Clementine, but it might have sentimental value to someone in the group. The l

  • I didn't take the watch because I was just there for the medical supplies. I thought that at least Luke and Pete would understand if I just took what I needed, but if they noticed that the watch was gone and found it on me... yeesh, that would have been bad.

Maybe the watch was a trap ... But maybe the trap is that it looks like a trap. Then again, maybe Telltale want us to believe that the trap is that the trap looks like a trap, thus traping us with another trap.

i don't even know what the heck I just said. Be right back, gonna suture my tongue.

  • Yeah I took that shit and i'd take it again. Clementine is out for numero uno, Carlos can suck my dddddddd

  • Seriously though, I think we'll have the chance to plant it on someone after it comes up missing. I think it will be a way to get rid of an enemy in the house, go plant it then tell on them.

  • What about Sarah and Alvin?

And Nick, Nick seems to be a cowardish-youngish Kenny.

And Alvin is a pussy, but he's a nice guy.

I took it. The group was full of a**holes anyway. Luke and Pete are fine but the rest can kiss my ass.

  • Considering that Christa tells Clem they have to go north to get to Wellington, maybe we'll learn later how to use the watch as a compass (I mean, I know how to do that, but Clem prolly doesn't) and that'll be our only, say, "map".

I did not want to take it cause of all the stuff mentioned above, but my video game instinct got the better of me so i took it, more items in the inventory.

  • Oh man you hit the feels nail in me there.

    That's so sad ;_;

I myself saw Clementine as contemptuous of such meaningless treasures, given what the world was like. Anyway, Lee died in a looted jewelry store, as if to hammer home this point about what's really of value.

  • I took dat watch on my first play through. On the second Alvin got me bandages so I didn't need to take the watch. I have two saves, one with nick and one with Pete, so I have a take watch save nick, and a leave watch save Pete.

  • I wanted to ask you all a question and I didn't want to start a new thread for it. Ok, so I was wondering, for those of you who cut Lee's arm off, how did Clem react to what Luke said about having a stump and how the person survived after they cut it off?

  • This got me thinking, I've got two gameplays (on season 1) and on one, I cut Lee's arm and in the other I didn't, and even though she seems sad about it and tells she had a friend that lost his arm.

Weird, eh? Might be a bug in my save files though since in the "previously on The Walking Dead" I could've sworn that Lee had his arm in the "You could just leave" scene.

  • I took it because, although I understand why they did, I wasn't too happy with the group locking Clem in the shed

  • Hmmm... that's weird. Well, I guess we'll just wait to see what other people say. I thought she would have a bigger reaction, but I'm sure she's hardened a lot.

  • I took the rag because I was too scared that they'll see me in for delaying. I'll make a new save game though.

she didn't say anything about it in mine. She only talks about it when looking at the tied up zombie at the camp..something like "looks like he tried to cut off his arm. That never works..."

I took it,but I don't think it will make a big consequence.what I'm wondering is the owner of the watch,I'm guessing it belongs to nick, based on the board game in the room

  • Personally, I think telltale might reverse-surprise us. and by that I mean. instead of stealing the watch having bad implications and negative storyline stuff.

I think that instead, if we don't take the watch, somewhere later in the next episode(s), clem(and co.) will stumble upon an event or something. and clem will be like "if only I had a watch", and we the players will be like "ooooh nooooo...."

.......that said, I didn't take the watch. Didn't find it in my first playthrough.

I was thinking more along the lines of Pete given the scenario at the end of the episode; Pete either dies if you chosen Nick or lives with his bitten leg(we seen that scenario play out with Lee and duck and how it ended.) My theory is that if and when Pete dies his family will ask for that watch and if Clem has it they will find out it got stolen since its not there.

  • I reckon you're right- Telltale will double blind us players who immediately though of it as a trap. I bet you that guy above who said it can be used as a compass will be right :P

I saw it as a trap immediately and left it. That said, with my luck the only trap will be TellTale expecting you to expect it to be a trap

  • I had Clem leave it. Other than out of sheer necessity (like needing those medical supplies) I thought stealing was out of character for her. Also my guess is that stealing the watch is going to backfire on players who went that route. The group might be able to overlook raiding their medical supplies, but they might be unlikely to overlook Clem stealing other belongings. That calls her character into question.

  • That's how I saw it.

It was more understandable to get what you need and get out, and I was honestly a little surprised that she wasn't searched by the end of the episode, so I imagine that it'll come up later.

it' Kenny watch, i thought so and i took it

  • I did because it could be useful later on in the season.

  • I took it. At the time they were leaving her to rot in that shed. I didn't even think about it. I took whatever I might be able to use later

  • edited December 2013

I went to just check it out, and she took it. Didn't want to take it, but oh well. It may be a trap, but seeing as how it's an "obvious trap" it may actually just be useful with no real downside. (if TT wants us to think its a trap" I've been thinking that in a later episode there may be a "trade" type of situation where the watch will be necessary.

EDIT: I'd be willing to bet that later in the game someone will say they need the watch for some serious situation, and then we will have a choice whether to give them the watch (then get in trouble for stealing but help the person,) or hold on to the watch (not help the person but not look like a thief.)

  • I took the watch in my last playthrough by accident. I didn't know she would have put it in her pocket. I can't think of a time in season 1 when a collectable item had no value so I let the game play out. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the pregnant woman and the guy she cheated on her partner with. If so I will use the watch against her if the option is available if she gets out of line again. I would use it as evidence of her affair or freak her out by letting her know I know where the watch is if she had in fact hidden it in the draw.

  • No need to hate but here is why i took the watch: My Clem is mature, and independent. I stole the watch for a test. When the time is right and they accusse me, i will know who REALLY trusts me. I will know who to stay with and why would they even NEED A WATCH NOW? Probably just going to get you a mistrust to a person. But i learned to live by the choices. No going back. Aint i right

  • Damn it Kenny.

    I took it.

Exactly! maybe they KNEW our video games instincts and now we are going to be in trouble or something. We collect everything. I wonder what is it's true purpose .

I didn't take it either. I didn't need it, I needed more the medical supplies. Also, the group would notice that sooner or later and will find it on Clem so no, thanks.

Same here. I took it at first, not knowing I would steal it. I instantly rebooted the save, this time leaving it behind. My Clemmy doesn't steal. Especially not after what happened last time.

I took the watch partially due to too much Skyrim getting the better of my moral values when stealing, also because it might come in handy later.
