Who is the WORST ever character?

edited February 2016 in The Walking Dead

Who do you say is the worst character in the game series?

As in a character who was so poor, you just wish that they were never written into existence!

My vote goes to this guy:

enter image description here

I can't remember his name and I don't want to remember, but he was a complete dweeb who was just so annoying as you could not kill him and he was a total dick even if you were nice to him. I know guys like the St Johns and the Stranger were bad dudes too but they were interesting and well written whereas this Russian guy just seemed to be thrown in from nowhere just to annoy the shit out of people and turn Kenny into some boring commie racist even though no one gives a shit about the cold war anymore, not since way back in the 80s.

If he ever returns then someone would need fired!! Like whoever the hell decided to have this guy in the game in the first place!

So what you say?

  • For me, the worst characters are Background characters who have no story, no dialogue, just created to die moments later, pretty much characters that don't really add anything to the game's plot or the game in general.

  • I was about to list all the minor characters who could've been scrapped from the game, but noticed a problem: you end up without story, anyway.

Sure, none of the Save-Lots bandits and none of Howe's Hardware residents individually matter at all, but you take them all, as a whole, and you end up with a group of zero people attacking the Motor Inn and a secure, sturdy community inhabited by Carver, Troy, Tavia and Bonnie.

  • Carver. Because he's a jerk.

If you mean "worst character" in terms of bad writting I'd say the Stranger. He just doesn't make any sense, his motives are not believable, the dialogue with him is awful they tried to get something deep but they failed miserably. The only thing I could think of when hearing him was "why do you want to destroy Lee?" and his answer is because I didn't save Doug? What the hell?

In terms of most hated I'd say the save lot bandits. They are assholes for no reason at all.

  • Arvo... Just.. Arvo

  • We really need Michonne to come out pronto. A lot of these topics are the same.

  • There are characters I hated, but personally just about all of them served a role. SO it's very hard to really say which is the worst. I personally hate Rebecca and Kenny for example, but I don't think they're bad characters.

  • In terms of Stranger, you need to remember one thing - what make sense for people like him, doesn't necessarily make sense for other people. He wasn't stable, that's for sure and while he was the way he was, remember that for him what he done, made perfect sense for him. In his mind it was probably the right thing to do or at least the only thing left to do. At least, that's my opinion. I just wanted to point out another point of view. Maybe you'll agree with it or maybe not.

  • Reggie if we are talking about a character that was more than a background character. He was literally just a series of plot devices (people overuse that word but thats litrally all he was).
    Poor voice actor didnt help.

Most of the characters here are ones that people more didnt like rather than being the worst character.

Kenny, Jane and Arvo likely were good characters overall even if personality wise they were awful

  • I'm not a huge Kenny fan, he is too aggressive and too overprotective of AJ. He also took the spotlight from other characters in Season 2, especially Cabin Group.

  • Bonnie is cool ;-;

    Bonnie or Arvo.

I don't know where to begin with Bonnie, in 400 Days she seemed like a decent person but in season 2 she is really messed up, she works with Carver even after he executed Walter who offered her food and determinantly Alvin. She blames Clementine for being responsible for Luke's death if you cover him, she goes over to him and the ice breaks due to her weight. Then she betrays the group and steals all the supplies which leaves Clementine and a little baby to die of starvation.

Arvo - A complete asshole. Apparently hasn't yet realized that people turn into walkers when they die, and so he thought that his sister crawling towards Clem and the baby making weird noises was her being alive. He also likes to blame people for things they didn't do and shoots little girls. I hope he was eaten by walkers.

Reggie - Just a pointless character. All he did was serve as an example of how fucked up Carver is. That's all there is to his character. That, and awful voice acting.

Ben - I don't think this needs explanation. I don't care if he meant good. He should have known what would happen with the bandits, he should have known that the hatchet blocking the doorway full of walkers is not to be removed. Him being a scared teenager is no excuse, he was just a dumbass putting everyone at risk, and getting Carley/Doug, Katjaa, Duck and Chuck killed through his stupidity. I understand why people don't like Kenny, but he had the right notion about Ben.

Jane - I won't go into this to not start another pointless thread, but I do hate her.

  • I feel the same way about Ben, when he angrily denied working with the bandits at the train after Carley got shot, steam was coming out of my ears.

Arvo - A complete asshole. Apparently hasn't yet realized that people turn into walkers when they die, and so he thought that his sister cra

  • According to Dojo, if Ben hadn't been dealing with the bandits, they probably would have attacked earlier and not having the RV fixed at time but I agree with the rest

  • Yes but that's no excuse for lying about it, he could have confessed to the group about it before Lilly had her tantrum and killed Carley (or Doug).

  • If we're talking about horribly written, the honors go to The Stranger. In terms of pointless, Reggie gets my vote. A character that I hate however, the vote goes to Kenny.

  • Probably

  • I don't like Bonnie's character that much. She was cool in 400 days but then she attacks Clem and her group with Carver, gets mad at Clem if she says that its all her fault, leaves with Clem and her group then betrays her with the baby and runs off. She also gets mad at Clem if she doesn't grab Luke(which is what Luke wanted).

What happened with the bandits only happened because Lilly was justifiably paranoid and sent Lee to poke around. No need to blame Ben for that.

  • You guys shouldn't really blame her for working with Carver. She was with her group and Carver guaranteed her that no one would die. He then kills someone and then she betrays him days later.

As for the rest: yes I agree. What a bitch.

  • Larry for the same reason a lot of Clementine fans hate Arvo really. He tried to kill Lee and in my opinion had a less valid reason than Arvo did when he shot Clementine.

  • Ben. He caused Carleys/Dougs death, Ducks Death, Katjas Death, Lilly leaving the group and he ran away when walkers cornered him and Clementine and left her to die if it weren't for Chuck saving her. I let him die without hesitation. I'm still disappointed that there isn't an option to throw him off the train after he confesses to Lee. And Jane. I didn't have a problem with her until she stirred the shit up with Kenny. Leaving AJ like she did just to instigate a fight so that clementine would have to kill Kenny was just childish and selfish and she was just Molly v2 nothing original about her character.

    1. Mike. Seriously he's just there. We know little about him and he's just so bland. I would've preferred if he was replaced by Ralph. Far more interesting than him. I hate the generic "nice guy" character.
    2. Sarita. I didn't hate her. But she was just there to die. It would've been cool in she lived.
    3. Nick. I liked Nick, he started off well. But after A House Divided it all went downhill. He had like three lines in "In Harm's Way". No character development. And in "Amid The Ruins" he just...dies.
    4. Carlos (my opinion). One day he's telling you to stay away from Sarah, another day he's telling you that she's your friend and asks you to look after her. I believe Clementine fathered Sarah. I almost forgot he died or even existed in Amid The Ruins because literally no one mentions him.
    5. Luke. His character was all over the place for me. In the first two episodes he's a generic nice guy, by In Harm's Way and Amid The Ruins he's reckless and unlikeable, and then by No Going Back he's a nice guy again. I didn't feel anything when he died.
  • Kenny. I see people try and erase the shitty things he had done and it just get's on my nerves so much.

  • The guy in blue from Michonne previews.

Other than that, Kenny and Arvo. Maybe Ben too but less.

  • The worst from a personality standpoint, Troy. From a writing standpoint, Brie.

  • Just because his intentions are in the right place (usually), doesn't mean he's a gold star. The way he executes his (usually) good intentions can be deemed pretty bad.
