Looks like AMC might be changing it's policy on the "fuck" word for a certain character

AMC has already set an F-Word precedent. Breaking Bad was actually permitted to use the f-bomb several times on the show.

What do you think?

Id hate for him to get the first F-bomb. It should have been Ricks. Or Daryl. It seems like he would be cussing up a storm. But if they can get Negan to tone it down from the comics where it was every other word, then they might have something. Ive been watching People vs OJ and they dropped two F bombs in three episodes so maybe the times are changing.

I dont even remember all of those and I know season one had a lot. They must have bleeped them out.

Also, Walt is the worst and I hate him.

  • Makes sense to me. Negan would NOT be the same character without the F-word.

Unfortunately they didn't let Andrew Lincoln say "They're fuckin' with the wrong people." in Season 4. The line would've been so much better.

  • Agreed, the F-word is one of Negan's most defining characteristics along with Lucille.

  • "You can have a show where you constantly have people killing one another, you can have a scenario where a child is almost raped and even some cannibals, heck, throw in some child deaths too and have one of the main characters threaten a child and mess with his head, show lots of blood and gore and even a bit of sex and nudity but no swearing."

I think when that the F-word being used on The Walking Dead wouldn't be all that big of a deal, really.
I think it made Breaking Bad seem a lot more authentic, when they had pretty much all the characters, with the exception of Gus Fring, drop the F-word, it seemed very fitting especially considering the "line-of-work" they were in.

In fact it almost seems kinda strange, considering all the other cuss words that they have being used on the show, that's the word fuck is not used. on that note, I don't understand why The F Word is so discriminated against if you will, especially given the other type of language that is already being used?

In some respects though, I have to admit that it's kinda nice that they don't have the F word on The Walking Dead. Not saying it's a show for kids, but with the F word not being used, it feels like it gives a greater freedom to be able to watch it with kids, particularly if you're a family man.

omg i never realized how many times it was used on breaking bad. either the muted f-word happened too fast or they edited out to make it sound normal. i mean i do remember some mutes here and there but that video seemed like it had more lol. honestly i think that Breaking bad could've been a much better show if it been on HBO or showtime. i mean it is still the GOAT but i feel like maybe AMC probably hold them back a bit with their restrictions. hell ill tell you this Walking Dead would definitively be a much better show under HBO and shit.

anyone else just annoyed with this censorship shit? i mean they can show someone being torn to bits by fucking zombies, but god forbid they hear a lil f-word. i mean the show is rated MA for fucks sakes. im sure no one under like 16 should be watching anyways. well i guess it has to be some balance stuff, like Dexter for example. i mean the whole premise of the show is about a serial killer, he dismembers his victims and there is other serial killers and yet the most graphic scene in that show was probably the flash back scenes where they killed the mother (BTW i wonder how people reacted to scarface back in the day with the chainsaw scene, if that were today some people might have lost their shit lol) and just a bunch of blood covered in walls and whatever. or like in season 6 where buckets of "blood" is dropped on them. we never saw anyone get killed in the graphic way they;ve shown in TWD (maybe they didnt have the greatest make up artist? lol) but they did have a whole lot of F bombs so that might have been why, that balance, anyways thats my lil rant haha.

(also another btw or ps or whatever, im pretty sure ive seen more graphic shit on Bones than dexter. maybe not deaths scenes but some nasty and sometimes gory bodies/dead people)

  • This really isnt a family show and kids shouldnt be watching it, although they do. They dont have to over do it the way BB did in the first couple of seasons. An appropriate, well placed one every half season would work, and make sense.

  • and doesn't it seem entirely appropriate to swear at that moment, it's not like the characters should swear every other word, but when it is appropriate they should, it isn't a kids show after all.

  • I think it shows how ingrained this taboo is in american culture when pretty much every comment is reffering to fuck as the F word or F bomb. I mean its a forum for adults, I...just dont get it

  • Ugh, that version is so much better. The tv version is just so lame....

This is the fucking thing I really dont understand, how is being eaten alive, torture, attempted rape, mutilation, child murder all more acceptable than someone saying fuck or cunt? A kid hearing those words isnt going to have any ill effects. That other stuff though....

  • Nah man they just screwing around.

  • Thank you for this. My mind is at balance now :D

  • As a Brit, as soon as the clock hits 9.00pm (watershed) there are fucks, shits, and cunts all over the television, so much so that no one raises an eyebrow.

I always thought it was weird that in an apocalypse (TWD) no one curses, even when losing family members.

  • I don't know about you , but I would not want to watch the second episode of The Walking Dead with one of my family members in the room.

  • It might be because they're in the South. If you burst out with a 'fuck!' you're going to get some looks.
That might just be where I live , though.

  • They do curse, they just dont say the "taboo" ones like the F and C bombs.

  • "curse words" wouldn't even count as swear words in england, the phrase "curse word" is basically never used here, unless you actually say fuck or shit etc. nobody really cares, at worst something like dick or crap etc.might be seen as rude or inappropriate, but even school children wouldn't get in trouble for saying them, unless it's like "this funeral is crap"
