The guy who shot her can be easy to empathize with once you start thinking about it. First of all, we met Arvo in a really mysterious situation, as he was seen trying to make the bag of medicine fit into the trash can for an unknown reason. Junkie or not, it's still stealing if you took the medicine from him. And Jane took his gun regardless of your choices, so the group still stole from him either way, and made him travel dozens of miles defenseless.
As observed on the English translation of the Russian dialogue, Buricko and Vitali were the ones who had the idea of coming back for the robbed supplies; Arvo was against it. Nonetheless, Buricko forced Arvo to tell this group of possible bandits to surrender their weapons. Few seconds later, Natasha was also seen pushing Arvo, telling him to "try harder" to get Clem's group to give up.
Now, you could be thinking, then why didn't he leave the group? Remember, he has a leg brace, which enables him from outrunning a walker. So while he and Natasha could've left the other two, it would've meant that they wouldn't have had as much protection, let alone be able to communicate with other English-speakers. It can also be assumed that the four were living in poor conditions after we learn that they lived in an unfinished house.
Arvo noticed that the bandit group had a baby, which prompts him to tell Buricko in an attempt to have him change his mind. Next thing he knows, someone from the bandit group fired a shot, breaking a firefight where he was taken hostage and all of his group members were shot dead, including his sister—who was killed by the girl who helped take his gun and medicine.
Arvo was dragged several miles, because the bandit group was interested in the house he was living in. Most of the people were nice to him, except for a bearded, one-eyed man who beat him several times, and determinantly knocked Arvo unconscious after he yelled for one of the people to leave him alone so that he could grieve.
The next day they arrived at Arvo's shelter, and started acting like it was their place and the supplies were their supplies and the car was their car. He is beat down by the one-eyed man again, breaking his glasses in the process. Two people told him that they'll help him escape by night. Later, the plan went accordingly, and they even managed to sneak out Arvo's group's supplies, until the girl that shot his sister walked out of the house. This was the perfect chance to take revenge for the death of his sister.
[SPARE BANDIT GIRL]—or—[SHOOT BANDIT GIRL]
He chose to take that chance. The circumstances under which Arvo shot her, and the circumstances under which Kenny yelled—in the middle of a herd that follows noise—at Clem, are completely different. I think my head is straight, because I'm able to understand a villian, when the game didn't want us to.
I wasn't being a hypocrite. I quoted what Charles said about no one is a boy or girl, they're alive, but arvo can shoot a little girl and ge… moret away with it. As I said in my previous comment that was flagged for whatever reason, clementine is the most popular character and a lot of people use her age as an excuse for her innocence and vulnerability, so why does arvo get away with shooting her ? Kenny can get hate for yelling at her, but a guy who shot her is given sympathy. Like I said, you really need to re think where your head is at .
I can actually understand people's disliking for him as he serves as just a plot device, really. I don't believe this "beacon of hope" bs that some of the fans are saying
I hate the way he is completely forced on the player. He is born and suddenly becomes a fairly big focus at that point, serves no real purpose other than to initiate the final moments of the game and is in every ending. There was no option to be like "I don't want AJ, you keep him".

I don't usually stick up for clementine, but in that situation, she is not at fault. Natasha was already dead when no going back started, she could've been killed by anyone. Clementine only killed the walker Natasha, not the actually one. If arvo really spoked about killing a weaker version of his sister then he is mentally unstable.
Now, you said that if you didn't steal, but Jane took his gun, it still counts as the group stealing. Yet in season one. If you choose not to take the supplies from the station wagon, the stranger, he will say that he wasn't after lee, only the others for stealing. So you don't know much about villains, it sounds more as sympathy for arvo.
Arvo said the group stole from him, when it was Jane, he could've said just Jane but he had to say the group which resulted in the firefight.
Now as for him being beaten, with all the mayhem caused by his lies and fraud, he deserved it. And I like how you said that he took off with Mike and bonnie but fail to realise that mike offered him a drink and arvo acting like a idiot again decided to yell loudly instead of just saying no or not saying anything like he did to clementine when she approaches him, of course you need to shut up him up . Sound attracts walkers remember?
Arvo is a replica of John Wilkes booth. He shoots someone and then flees like a coward. That is what arvo is in one word. Coward.
I noticed your comment was flagged down, too.

Oh, totally! She was defending herself from being eaten alive by a walker. The misunderstanding is that Arvo had been taken hostage at the time, so he didn't know that he had failed to save his sister. He just knew that Clementine had shot her. And nobody ever told him that Natasha had turned, for convenience of the plot.
About the station wagon… I'm not sure what point you were trying to make. I'll link the second paragraph to the third and assume that you were saying Arvo should've only been after Jane. Given that Natasha asks Arvo if "that's the girl" regardless of your choices, I'm thinking that perhaps they only held our group at gunpoint to take our supplies because he recognized Clementine.
Now, Arvo is only knocked unconscious by Kenny if you fail to get him to sit back at the fireplace. Otherwise, Arvo will apologize to Mike and shut up for the rest of the night. I agree he was rude to Mike for no good reason, though.
Now as for him being beaten, with all the mayhem caused by his lies and fraud, he deserved it.
I'd like to hear what lies and fraud you are talking about. He only stated that there was a house with food that he could take them after the firefight ended, and all of that was true. You could technically think that he said that the house was "not far" and that it was a lie, but it's entirely subjective, too.

First of how do you know that arvo didn't know about how people turn when being killed? And second, when you see someone groaning like a walker, I think it's fair to say if you don't know it's a walker, you really are unaware. I don't think letting him know would of helped considering if you give up your gun, he still shoots her.
I was saying that if season one the stranger goes after the people who stole, if lee didn't.t he originally chose not to go after lee. Argos group were in it for the killing. They even mocked clementine being a little girl. Arvo still claims you stole, even if you didn't, he is at fault. Not anyone else.
Is it bad I let kenny bash him all the way? Lol nah seriously, he baits kenny into doing it by saying fuck you. Arvo was a smart ass and he knew the hostility kenny would show but still went on with it. And if clementine tries to stop kenny, he still shoots her. She can. Try to save his sorry ass and he still shoots her.
1: sick sister.
2: lying about the group stealing
3: saying the house is far when it isn't.
4: the house is a wreck when he said it wasn't.
5: as soon as he saw an opening on the ice he tried to make a run for it.
All of arvos mistakes.

Bonnie. Betrays you, asks for your forgiveness, betrays you again, expects you to help her betray other people. Oh and gets Luke killed, then blames Clementine for it.
Season 1: Lilly, not only was she annoying even when I tried to act nice when she started going crazy, but she also killed my Bae Carly. Never forgive, never forget. Left her to die by that roadside.
Season 2: Honestly? Jane. I just hated her. She was always trying to split the group, and I just never trusted her. It still puzzles me how people choose her to go with after playing that game. Nick is a close second for being useless, I watched him get eaten by Walkers, it was satisfying.
Season 1: Larry, The Stranger in The Marsh House, FUCKING LILLY OH MY GOD
Season 2 : It really depends. Troy has my mercy over the fact that Carver probably corrupted him. Carver was just an ignorant darwinist gone too far. It's just, with Carver, his arguing points for survival typically collapsed on themselves so it's good that he died when he did. Sarah isn't really one of the worst, either. She had her problems, but it's not her fault Carlos was a shitty father who just chose to shelter her instead of teaching her how to survive. I get where he's coming from, but he still should have taught her things. Nick, the poor guy, was just too stupid to remain alive in that world. I'm amazed he lived as long as he did. So I'm probably gonna have to go with Carver, purely because his logic was so unbelievably bad and all he did was kill more people instead of trying to better society like he wanted to do. How can you better your community if all you do is kill the people who inhabit it? Fucking idiot.
Speaking of unused story and the St Johns, wasn't there an audio file in the game back in season one that implied one of them wanted to sexually abuse Clementine?
She does, that's why I said troy sexually abusing her was an "unused" backstory. It was planned originally but somewhere along the way they scrapped it.
And i noticed i didn't explain clearly why i hate Kenny's character so much.
For me he is a character that has all the, charasteristics i dont like in people thrown together in one person.
He is a coward(for not helping to save Shawn), He is selfish (Only himself and his family counts.), He has anger-issues( when someone doesn't agree with him).
Also he has done allot of cruel things, like smashing a father's head infront of his own daughter, which was one of the most evil scene's i had ever seen in a game.
He wants Lee to throw Ben off the bell-tower, which was absolutely insane, and he even gets mad when Lee doesn't do it.
When asking for his help, to save Clementine, he is Like you never did anything for me, when i gave his family food, and even shot his son when he was turning into a walker.
Only because, i didn't agree with his cruel actions.
And finnaly nearly beating Arvo to dead, while his sister just died.
Season 1: Vernon. This motherfucker. How dare he calls Lee a bad guardian of Clementine. If he knew what the fuck me and Clementine have been going through for like, what, 3 months and he calls me a bad guardian. And then after that, he takes our boat and leaves us, especially Clementine, to die! I wish I coulda seen him die, fucking bastard.
Not gonna lie..if that crazy bitch let Lee and Clem go with her then I would ditch the rest of them. Lily may have lost it a little at that point but she wouldn't hurt Clem at all. Plus, she may just need somebody to love to see the light.
I know . Lilly was my favorite character and I hope she comes back ( even though the people saying that she shoudn't for the good of realism are right ). She did care about everyone in the group with a special mention for her father, Lee ( depending on what you do ) and Clementine. It happens that the rest didn't see she was really doing her best for them because of her way of phrasing things, her hyper-sensitivity and her strong character. She was still just a leader under stress before the incident with her father. What happened next, because of Kenny, was definitly a turn point ( can you blame her for that ? )... If you try to help you can see that Larry seemed alive. Anyway, even after that, she did try to protect the group by talking to Lee about her suspicions even though the player may have killed her father. She works on herself in a way I can admire. You know she is naturally sensitive well wouldn't it be way worth after PTSD ? It is... Still she had the well being of the group as a priority. Your bae probably forgot who she was talking to.
'' You think you're some tough bitch don't you ? Like nothing can hurt you ? But you're just a scared little girl... Get the fuck over it. Get a page from Lee's book and try to help somebody for once ''
It's NOT something you say to someone who suffers from PTSD and has been trying to keep you and the rest safe. Carley was mad and I understand that ( so really I am not blaming her either ), Lilly overreacted but it makes sense too... For Lilly, getting rid of Ben was the right thing to do and Carley was getting in the way, wish is just not something she was physically ready to accept at that precise moment.
And it just happens that Lilly was right about Ben. Does it excuse her behaviour ? No. But does everything that happened before explains why ? Yes.
She definitly cared for Clementine...probably even more than Kenny did ( and I love Kenny, I am just not in denial ). Didn't she give something to Clem for her hair ? Yep.
Lilly needed love and support after her father's death ( just like you said ) not a zombie apocalypse and a Ben. She didn't get what she need to get through it, naturally she snapped. I would have loved to go with her...
It's fine if you hate her though, I understand what could have led you to feel that way. Whatever I say she still ''killed your bae'' and trolled you with the Harvey.
She was the side bae.
Not gonna lie..if that crazy bitch let Lee and Clem go with her then I would ditch the rest of them. Lily may have … morelost it a little at that point but she wouldn't hurt Clem at all. Plus, she may just need somebody to love to see the light.
